    💜💛💚 love your flowers! Using this idea to do giant flowers that are "carnivorous" for our Halloween yard haunt.

    That’s such a cool idea, I kinda want to make just a bunch of leaves for my parrots room but I’d probably terrify them.

    Thank you SO MUCH for posting this!! I missed the free class that Krewe of House Floats live streamed to Facebook so this was super helpful!
    What type of sealer and adhesive spray did you use?

    • @amandadawson1983
      @amandadawson1983 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For what it's worth, I used spray adhesive to adhere the poster board layers. Worked best on larger petals. The smaller petals I closed the gaps with rubber cement. Also, my stapler wasn't great so trust hot glue for the inner layer.

    How do you get your wire so straight? Mine is in a coil and when I lay it down in the poster it pops up even after I try to straighten it.

    Anyone know what kind of wire she uses between leaves and petals?

    • @melissal4638
      @melissal4638 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't know. I used green garden wire that looks about the same thickness as her video, but the wire inside the plastic coating must be thinner. The petals bend fine but it would have been better with slightly thicker wire perhaps.

    Could I use cardboard?

    • @chezlin
      @chezlin  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You probably could. It would be more difficult to shape it like how you want it, though, and if you use corrugated cardboard, it would be hard to get it where the lines of the corrugation wouldn't show. Speaking of corrugation, if I were to make these out of cardboard, I'd make sure that the corrugation ran perpendicular with the length of the leaves and petals so they can bend.

    • @chezlin
      @chezlin  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I used 16 or 14 gauge(I can't remember which) galvanized wire. I think it would be comparable to a wire coat hanger.

      Just went and checked on the flowers after 2 days of rain and the clear coat Rachel put on them has kept them in perfect condition. I'm sure there are more life long flower materials, but so far this is working out. :)

    • @chezlin
      @chezlin  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      As Jason said, they seem to be holding up well so far! Ideally decor like this would be hung on a covered porch or something so minimal rain can get to it. The door flower is pretty protected, but the other two are on a more exposed wall of the house, so they're getting more exposure.
