    I'm not sure which I enjoy more....the information presented about mobile-making or the snarky, self-deprecating humor (audio & graphics). I guess it's balanced pleasure. 🙃

    I love you comments! Makes me smile. Do you have a video on the materials you would recommend using? Wire? Metal?

      Elyse! Thanks very much for your great feedback! I do not have a video with material recommendations yet. But I'll create one soon. In the meantime, feel free to message me with any questions. Cheers!

    Hi Mark! Your work is amazing! Could you tell me what thickness and type of blade you use? I'm from Brazil and I love your art! Thanks!

      Hi Daniel! Thanks so much for the message and sorry about the delay in getting back with you! If you poke through my videos you'll find all kinds of answers to the most common questions. For most of my mobiles, I use a 28-30 gauge metal. It's thin enough to keep the mobiles light and allow for handcutting of the metal, yet durable enough to last for generations. Happy mobile making!

    Awesome video, I’ve been making mobile’s for quite a while using rivets because I could never get the stable method down. Can I referred to your channel on my channel?

      Hi Mark! Love your trailer video on your channel! So good! Yes, of course, you can refer to my channel. Would love to see some examples of your riveted mobiles - I'm totally curious!

      Great question! I would first use a drill to pierce the metal and then use a Dremel tool to expand the hole. Now, I use a hole saw bit for my drill that is made for thin gauge sheet metal. It's a bit tricky (I nearly lost a finger this year), so I'm not sure I would recommend it ;)

    Great instructions. Mobiles are interesting to me and would like to try make one. Will you make a video showing how to make a simple mobile from start to finish? I wouldn't know how to begin otherwise. 😊

      Thanks Carla! I'd love to create such a video (or multiple videos) and am hoping to do so in the upcoming months. Stay tuned, as it were! In the meantime, there are some good how-to videos out there that can help get you started. Cheers!

    how do you make the holes?

    • @marklearydesigns
      @marklearydesigns  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sandy! Great question. I just use a regular drill with a drill bit that is rated for metal. The thin gauge of metal is easy to drill through, so it's pretty straightforward. You can see an example of me drilling in this video: th-cam.com/video/Cw4BHfuA7ws/w-d-xo.html

    Am I missing the video (or part of) that explains how to get the two holes in the blade 😬

    • @marklearydesigns
      @marklearydesigns  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Troy! I use magic - lots of magic - to get the holes in the blades. Um, nope. I use a drill with bit size just slightly larger than whatever gauge of wire I'm using for the arms. It'll leave a burr around the edges which I then sand off. As for spacing - even after all these years - I still eyeball it.
