For everyone who is unaware Monson’s an NCAA div 1 wrestler and a 2 time ADCC gold medalist/ 2 time silver medalist and also has a gold medal in the Pan American BJJ and No Gi world championship. He submitted Aleksandr Emelianenko and Sergei Kharitonov and beat Aleksei Olinek and fought countless other greats like Daniel Cormier, Chuck Liddell, Forrest Griffin, Pedro Rizzo etc.. and unlike Fedor actually competed for UFC heavyweight gold in the 2000s.. he’s quite possibly one of the greatest grapplers in heavyweight MMA history for being only a over stuffed welterweight with a significant age gap over all his counterparts including Fedor.

UFC fanboys will claim that Stipe Miocic and Cain Velasquez are the greatest heavyweights ever because they defended the belt 2-3 times lol. Fedor went a whole decade without losing a single fight in the best organization at the time...he should have retired a long time ago, he's way over the hill now.

A very underrated win for Fedor.
Monson was one of the best HWs from Fedor's era and presented a dangerous opponent capable of beating anyone if he could score a takedown. He beat Kharitonov in 2009, and he then beat Oleynik and Alexander E. after losing to Fedor. Fedor looked perfect in this fight. Patient and intelligent. I'm sure had he fought all the fights he lost in the USA in Russia instead, he'd probably fight way better.

That's baloney. Monson was never the second best striker anywhere he fought in any division. His strength was on the ground, as he was a former D1 wrestler who became a BJJ practitioner who won ADCC in the early years. He challenged for a UFC heavyweight title but came up short but he was never a top striker.
@@johnnybeefum I do recall Jeff seemongly not hesitant to stand toe to toe with opponents in UFC (thought that's what he mainly did) and he even went the distance with Tim Sylvia who seemed to generally rely on striking..If he wasn't number two, chances are he wouldn't have been too far back. @@ryanjansen8785 he stood toe to toe with guys yes, but that doesn't mean he was a top striker. look at how many knockout victories he had. he best talent was always on the ground (subs) and that's where his best shot at winning the fight was always.
Fedor is simply a god.

Tattoo is an art, there are people who use their skin to give a message, some people don't ,like Fedor.
Personality I never used ink on my body and am proud of it, but I refuse to judge those who do. I have a problem, though, with teenage girls using ink on their body, it affect their hormones and reproductive system.

In my opinion, Fedor’s mistake was that he did not leave undefeated, but allowed himself to be beaten by the youth already as the Last Emperor.. This was Fedor’s biggest mistake. And “Snowman” Jeff is honored and respected, he is loved in Russia, he is engaged in coaching and opens new sports schools. By the way, Monson renounced his American citizenship. Now he only has a Russian passport. A man is true to his convictions. ☝
