    I opted to get the Bunn MCU My Cafe instead. It keeps hot water in a reservoir at all times, and you don't have to measure the water. What you put in is what you get out, so I simply use the cup that I will be drinking from. You get 4 pods for coffee grounds, tea, hotwater, and k-cups. Love it. Thank you for your video!!

      I have never had coffee grounds in my cup after using a K-cup. I don't even know how that would be possible because K-cups usually have a paper filter inside them. I suspect those people complaining about this are getting residual coffee grounds from the inside of the machine somehow getting into their coffee cup.

    Great review Question for strong coffee. I'm used to using oz to determine number of scoops . If I understand if you are for example brewing 15 oz on classic brew setting the number of oz drops to 12oz on the display when switching to rich setting . Are you supposed to keep the number of scoops the same as you would use for 15oz to unlock the stronger brew taste?

    • @michaelerbreviews
      @michaelerbreviews 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a little strange how they do that. AFAIK the Rich setting simply reduces the amount of water which is really just making a stronger cup of coffee since there is less water being used.

    • @bobm9400
      @bobm9400 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaelerbreviews does that mean that a 15 oz classic brew which dispenses 12 oz on rich setting is no different than me going to a 12 oz classic setting using the same amount grounds?

      Found someone on the Internet talking about how this setting"

      Yes it has an intelligent warming plate. The Keep Warm button is available when you brew any size of pot. You adjust the time by pressing and holding the Keep Warm button for several seconds until it begins blinking then use the dial to adjust the time to what you want. Default is 2 hours but can be adjusted from 0 to 4 hours.

      @@michaelerbreviews I recently bought the dual pro without frothier and I have issue that ground coffee often drains in the cup. N also the slider that closes for ground coffee was very difficult to close. The machine is cheaply made. I m returning it back.

    • @michaelerbreviews
      @michaelerbreviews 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ruckmarch Sounds more like user error to me. If your coffee grind is too fine then when making a pot of coffee it's entirely possible that the coffee won't percolate fast enough and that could lead to coffee grounds spilling out of the basket into the pot. And that leads to the difficult to close slider. It is a very simple mechanism that should not be difficult to close.... unless there were a lot of coffee grounds clogging the mechanism. The machines is not cheaply made. It's made appropriately for the task at hand. Like any device, it must be used properly for optimal performance.

    • @michaelerbreviews
      @michaelerbreviews 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Jason Rourke The explanation for the possibility of grounds getting into the pot and thus the cup of coffee is if the coffee is ground too fine. When the coffee is too fine, water can't flow through the grounds fast enough which could cause the basket to overfill with water and eventually overflowing taking grounds with it. Otherwise you won't ever get grounds in your coffee. I've had this coffee maker for several months now and we make a pot of coffee every single day and have never had so much as a grain of coffee in the pot after brewing.

    A few people in the house leave close to same time. We had a dual cuisinart that quit. One person uses the carafe next person makes a k cup. Can you put a large travel mug on the warming plate as would be close to same time so to fit the travel mug assuming would have set on warming plate. Also can this be set to use daily automatically at a certain time or have to set it each day

    • @michaelerbreviews
      @michaelerbreviews 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The delayed brewing must be set each day. It retains the previous time but you do have to push the Delay button each day.
      You could put a stainless steel travel mug on the warming plate for the K-Cup brew cycle. But it will be hot if you just brewed a pot of coffee. Definitely don't use a plastic travel mug because the warming plate will be very hot.

    I'm mostly a Folgers in a cheap coffee maker type of person as long as it has auto timer so my coffee is waiting for me early in the morning. I had 1 for over 10 years before it died. I bought a more expensive one less then 2 years ago and it's display unit has dimmed so bad I can't read it anymore. The only reason I'm looking at this unit is because of the dual function to make hot water for tea and hot chocolate. In the reviews I'm reading that the hot water function has a plastic taste to it. Some of the newer style cups are sort of like half-dome designs and I've had some issues using them. You have to firmly press the lid closed and make sure you have it completely closed so that the cup is completely punctured and that the lid is flush, not having any play (which would indicate the cup wasn't punctured securely. You are seeing the result of all the water not going through the kcup but leaking around the needle insertion points. That's my take-away.
