The thread used is a banana fibre. You can use a normal thread instead of you cannot find a banana fibre.
The stem of the banana plant after the fruit is removed is slit into layers and dried to get banana fibre.
Here most of the temples do not offer garlands made with artificial materials to God so we use Banana Fibres as it natural.

The string used is a banana fibre. You can use a normal thread instead of you cannot find a banana fibre.
The centerpiece has been done with a flower bud. The name of the flower is Crape Jasmine (Also known as Nandi Battalu). There are few videos of garlands prepared with this flower. Do check it out here th-cam.com/play/PLvlQc3WH3CBCId1cfR-uamHkOucHLR5D3.html
The red colored is not a leaf. It is a rose petal.

@@jennylou2676 In India we only offer duruva to Lord Ganesha but Hinduism never restricts anyone. You can go ahead and make whatever you want to make with it unless you use it for something unholy. It's a weed and it grows anywhere and everywhere.
