I’m not good at writing in a journal. But I do take just a few minutes to write what I’m am grateful for every single day. It is a good way for me to be in a state of constant gratitude while also not spending a lot of time. Sending love you and your husbands way. Have a wonderful and cozy evening.

For the last two years I have used my birthdate as a monthly reminder(mark it on the calendar , it’s important!) to do something special for myself (a facial has been a favorite) but any type of self care that you prefer is good. I enjoy taking as many opportunities as possible that day, tea in my favorite pot and china cup, cookies for breakfast, reading, sitting quietly to look out the window , whatever makes you happy 😊🥰

Thank you for this gorgeous video. I actually created a Junk Journal for January and instead of doing goals for the year took each of that 31 days to contemplate a new form of self-care I want to incorporate this year. My word for the year is self-care. It has included small things like drinking enough water or taking my vitamins to large goals like getting enough exercise and reading 50 books. It feels so much gentler to tackle self-care not as a to-do list but as a journal of ideals that I am hoping to bring more of into my life.

    • @itsacharminglife

I absolutely love that idea of creating a self-care list instead of a to-do list and I bet it looks gorgeous in your junk journal ♥️

I felt very relaxed sharing this time with you. I love your winter decorations. I always feel a bit sad putting my winter decorations away, although I love to spring clean and getting my little house ready for spring. I enjoy being out in my garden feeding the birds and the wildlife. I find it very relaxing. Looking forward to your next video. Bless you 💖x

I am yet another who needed this reminder. It's a gentle nudge from God, saying, I'm here , come and sit down and spend time with me. Psalm 23 is often reserved for bereavement, but it's for every season of our lives: " The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want, He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul..." When I journal I am praying. I haven't taken the time to journal in a while but I talk to God along the way. I also like to take walks on a nice trail on the way home from my part time work with Companions and Homemakers. I want to do that more. Taking the time for art , especially nature journaling art, lifts my spirits. Finally, music , music that helps me focus on God, to praise Him and thank Him for all He has done. Doing this changes my heart, it turns the light on in my soul. It helps me to see things a bit more clearly. God's blessings to you and Jonas. ~ Heather ~

Yes yes yes, to all of this! Especially music, that's something I need to use more for self-care 🎶

Some how it does help to just do what you feel like doing, and when you finish there is a sense of accomplishment.
People do feel this way (lethargic) in Winter often and we need to take time for self. I think Winter can tire us out as we fight the elements in the North East as well.
'Nature' brings my husband and I alot of joy and watching them captures something within us that makes us feel we want to play along with them as they do litle things liek trying to drink water from ice, So they need a bowl of water in times like this. Just to get them through. They let you know what they need when you just watch them.
When we think about rebirth, and things going on under the ground we cannot see and just knowing soon those flowers will be coming up again and right now they are busy, although unseen by us getting ready to entertain once more. Just knowing this makes me think how I may not be as forward and energetic as I have been, but by doing small things, great things will come. One step at a time, it draws us back to the openness of light and life and love of life again.
This was such a heart warming vlog and very much needed right now. We are having high winds and have for a few days and just not the best weather to need to be outside if we do not need to do it.

I needed this so much. I love the background ambiance videos. I find they can really help shift energy/my mindset. I’ve had a run of high pain days as the seasons shift. Down here we’ve already had days in the 70’s. My SAD is worse in hotter weather.
I wish I could share some warmth and sun with you! Take good care of your beautiful self. 💚💚💚

Happiness and love and laughter are three keys to life, as for someone who has been in very dark place’s ,I find myself thinking there is a place for me in this world. And as I look out of my cottage bedroom window ever morning and see the tree’s and the birds and people walking by with their dogs at their side. I know that I’m glad to be here with my three friends( happiness, love and laughter ) keep safe and well and always remember you are never alone. ❤️

Such a lovely and calming video. I often think I do too much or too little for myself depending on my mind set. Recently one thing I have been doing is using my mini trampoline for 30 to 60 minutes while I watch Netflix and get lost in any show I can escape into. I have to focus on the show or loose my footing, if I think about my feet I will trip over them. I have been keeping a food diary so I am not mindlessly nibbling as I have a habit of doing. It has helped me make better choices. I have also been trying to care for my hair and skin again and to get dressed... I don't always accomplish the latter. I still drink a full pot of tea and take my time to savor it. I also gaze out my windows at our mama hummingbird as she nests and occasionally flies to the feeder or after threatening bigger birds, this I share with Impy and it's like doing so with a child. All these things help me not feel so alone and busy brained ...it's a start. Baby steps.

Lindsay. Glad you are doing a reset. Otherwise. You can really go down the rabbit hole
I light a Xander when I wake up. Brew tea. Pull a tarot card for the day and meditate. I journal a lot .try to get outside at least 10 mind a day and eat some green things.
Take care of lovely you. You are loved!

Lindsay, thank you so much for this reset video! It’s just what I needed. Even though I live in the almost constant sunny part of the country know as south Florida seasonal depression is still a thing for me. Now some people may say how can that be but I wasn’t born here I was born in Buffalo NY and lived there till I was in my 30’s so I know all about cold, snowy, long winters. Bering in the south there is never really the change of seasons, it may cool a bit in January and February and we get a break from the soaring humidity and scorching heat but believe me it can get old and be very depressing maybe not for many but for me it does. Unfortunately when the weather is the best here there is an over abundance of tourists everywhere you go and trying to find a spot on the many public beaches can be a challenge! Lol so all that being said no matter where you might live depression and anxiety can affect many of us for many reasons. This was a pleasant reminder to reset and take the time for self care and also refresh our own environment. I look forward to future videos as you and Jonas always put out lovely calming videos. Many thanks! :)))))

Thank you for sharing and sorry to hear you have had some health worries/ not been feeling great. You aren’t alone, I hope that brings you some comfort. I am realising that the spiritual is the bit that has been lacking for me and am on a journey to express and look after my soul better without religion. It’s a journey but there is something about surrendering yourself up that is humbling and takes away lots of worries through meditation at the end of the day for me. Good luck and thank you for all the great ideas. Xxx

Hi Lindsey. Taking care of one's self is important. I recently started going to a gym near our home. My husband and I go together. It feels really good to do something good for myself and share that with my husband. My spiritual life is very important to me. I go to Mass as often as I am able. I also meditate and journal with Scripture. My spiritual journal always begins with gratitude to God for all the gifts I have recognized during the day. It could be the sparkling snow blanketing the yard, a cardinal I saw, a phonecall from a friend,...Enjoying nature and listening to beautiful music are also ways I care for my mind, body, and soul. One more thing I try to do is do something for someone else who needs help.

Sweet Lady, After almost 60 years of being on this planet the first thing that helps me is talking to God. I go to him, in my minds eye, curl up in his lap and pour my heart out. Then i wait for his answer, dont get up til he does. seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you. He loves you very much.

I needed the reminder here. Ive been feeling similarly and just came to the startling realization this morning that I haven't been caring for myself very well. Thankfully, I can start over, and give myself some of the care I have been missing. Being mindful about my breathing, taking a break from electronic inputs, and indulging in some aromatherapy are at the top of my list. I hope your weekend finds you refreshed, feeling renewed and with your webs a bit more untangled then before. 💜

My perfectionistic tendencies hinder my journaling, but I finally gave in to the fact that my journal will include deep thoughts, grocery lists, budgets, prayers, drawings, and all manner of randomness. An artistic friend made her own journals and I found her meanderings look like mine. That sort of gave me permission to just have at it, whatever comes. I'm tidying now, too, and find that I'm feeling lighter with it. I like youtube recipes on Heavenly Fan; you might check her out. :) Hugs and best wishes.

That's how I feel about starting a journal too as my handwriting is pretty atrocious and I didn't want to boil my pretty LOL but it's good to put perfectionism on this side and just get your thoughts down isn't it?

Nice to see you again! Thought about your channel today :) It will be spring soon, - everybody needs some extra-supplements like vitamin D and Magnesium. D in the morning, to be more alive, Magnesium in the evening - to sleep better.

Thank you for that wonderful reminder about the vitamins we need during this transition, I do take vitamin D every day but not magnesium so thank you for that ♥️

@@itsacharminglife I know it's hard not to feel vulnerable because you are humble but I think the videos that you've done like this will help so many people. 💖

Such a lovely video, I needed all these reminders. I have been too busy lately to prioritize mental health and I was certainly noticing negative effects from this. Thank you for all your helpful tips! I feel so motivated now. I enjoying cleaning and organizing too, it is meditative for me. Wishing you all the very best! May you have a relaxing rest of February. ✨ 🌸

Great video but, I’m hating on that reset word! I don’t think it’s possible to reset, you just have to keep flowing from one moment to the next.

    • @itsacharminglife
      @itsacharminglife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I hear where you're coming from, as I mentioned in the video it's more about a seasonal shift than a reset but that's just more of a term for these type of videos.
