You did great :-) It was a livestream of the finest quality. The best presenters and production teams are often those who both (1) care about their subject greatly (2) understand their audiences and their motivations. The result is that, as *you* do, show respect for both in your actions and words, no matter what style. All of you did brilliantly. The 4G quality is often crap, but the quality of presentation and overall production means that people bloody loved it. I bloody loved it because I didn't have to do any work :))))
Thank you for the kind words Tim, that's very helpful. It was a really fun day and a great joy to be on camera with you again. Ultimately I want to combine what I enjoy into what I do professionally and this was one hell of a way to do that! Still love how you were ready with your own Top Hat. xD We did our bit, the production team did theirs, it's fantastic when the tech issues are beyond our excusable control!
What a lovely railway, I am a retired railwayman and would love to volunteer on the railway. I live in the East Riding of Yorkshire. I remember reading the Thomas books back in the early 1960s. The rolling stock looks amazing. Well done to all involved. 👍🚂🚃
There are a few railways and museums in Yorkshire, though like me you could even volunteer at a railway far away! Thank you for sharing your comment. Lovely that the books have stayed an important part of so many people's lives.
33:56 THERE I AM GARY! THERE I AM!!! Was an absolute pleasure meeting you dude! A Big Thank you to you and all Talyllyn staff that made this such an awesome experience!
I'm glad you liked your reserved compartment labels. Sorry the open wasn't where you were expecting it to be, but in my defence, I put it where Luke told me to put it!
Having Smudger at the event was a genius idea! It looked amazing, and the open coach in Skarloey colours was too. Getting more information on the Sad Story of Henry pilot is another great reward. But I am now cursed with the knowledge that Barry was not a standard class 2 mogul.
It would be a lot of fun to go to the Talyllyn Railway but there’s always next year. There we’re a lot of surprises like the Smudger reveal, Fact about Barry, and all sorts of surprises. 2 years later and the events are still going strong
This is one of those videos that fills me with exitement, joy and an adventurous feeling (even though i'm not acutaly there); Very well done there Max, you and everyone involved did an amazing job, I wonder who's coming to "visit" in the next Awdry Extravaganza? Greetings from Brazil!👋
As there are train shaped cookies or cakes. The real question is, is it possible to eat a train, on a train. and if you have your models- is it possible to eat a train, with a train, on a train?

Great video, Max! I'm thinking of going to the Awdry Extravaganza 4 (if there is one) next year.

Extra praise for the recreations of the RWS illustrations. That was a genius idea, and everyone involved looked the part.

10:53-11:00 A rented coach from the Skarloey Railway spotted, hyper reaction, based.

That's awesome Max. If you could, would you visit America one day?
