To me, this is the quintessential scrambler motorcycle. This is what a scrambler should be. No electronics, just a pure ride. I've been looking at other scramblers from different manufactures, and haven't found one I really like. But I love everything about this CCM Maverick Scrambler. Hat's off to CCM for knocking this one out of the park, well done CCM, well done!
Last week I went to the CCM factory in Bolton to test ride the Street Moto & Street Moto R, the guys could not have been more accommodating and took me on a test ride around some fantastic roads up in the hills northeast of Bolton. Most of what was said in this test was applicable to both the bikes I tried but I am sure the road tyres gave a lot more confidence in the corners. I would have been very happy to own both the bikes that I tried but the R version with the better suspension and different exhaust was just that little more confidence inspiring when thrown into corners. Anyhow I have ordered a Street Moto R for delivery in March next year ( I could have got a bike a lot quicker but delayed for personal reasons )
@@Robinbamv Great story and thanks for sharing - having now ridden the Street Moto R as well I understand your choice but they’ve all got that character I think. You’ve got some fun times ahead when the bike arrives, that’s for sure. My vid on it here th-cam.com/video/8VTNw-faHyE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=szgUu0t7ZVpgz4-Y
These are drool bikes in the states. I’ve considered flying to London for that cool motorcycle show they do in spring just to see some of them up close. 👍🤪🏳️🌈
Wonderful riding video! I would give up my first-born to have a bike like this to ride in the states! About four years ago, I started a special-interest facebook group for lovers of single cylinder motorcycles called "Thumper Lovers". We have a little over 300 members, from all over the US, and we have quite a few members in the UK and Europe, and a few Down Under as well. I'm sure each of our members would love to take this little gem out on the road and give it a good flogging! I look forward to watching your next video!
Thanks - I've more where that came from as well in case you haven't seen it already: th-cam.com/video/8VTNw-faHyE/w-d-xo.html Keep spreading the word because I think CCM is somewhat unknown and I'd love to get more awareness as they're cracking bikes. But you already know that it seems. Thanks for watching!
Hi, I just came across your channel, and after watching this video, I realised you're not far from me-I'm just over the hill in Haworth. I currently have a CCM Blackout, but I'm thinking about selling it as I'm interested in getting a Guzzi V7 and don't really have room for both.
Hi - small world indeed, am not far away at all! I'll have to look out for you. I'm keen to try a Guzzi so will give you a shout if I do and we can maybe meet up and kick tyres.
Well lets just say Im very sceptical. I had a 404 and absolutly loved it. The lads up at Bolton built and used it themselves. However I also bought one on the Chinese built ones for my lad and it was the biggest heap of crap that I have ever bought. Infact although it was cleaned and kept inside after ever ride, It looked like it had been left outside at the seaside for ten years after a year. Big mistake in my point of veiw. Love the looks and sounds of these but doubt I bother as not that much information on where and waht the build is all about.
I think it’s a have a ride a couple of times, then after the very quick honeymoon period and post vibration white finger it will up for sale 😂. I estimate about 30 mile radius only.
I'll be honest with you at the price CCM charge I don't see it ever becoming big, in the current depressed market place for motorcycles, as let's be honest they are seen as luxury items or toys for many so bikes at this price are only wealth man toys, as ya average Joe will not and cannot afford such things 🤷🏻♂️
But is it reliable? too many complain over starting it then there are stone issues lack of mudguards and issues on motorways. I would like the Truth.. A a young friend bought the Mutt 125cc and things got loose indicators stopped working the left side mirror fell off and the switches failed in the wet for lights and indicators. I want people to buy British. But if reliability is an issue surly CCM should be investigating the major problems? Is everything being made in Britain? Triumph small bikes are not even made in the UK why? It is time we manufacture parts build Motorbikes that are British from Engines Gearbox Chains even Wheels fully balanced . There is too many Chinese made put together in Britain called British. Britain does not make cars at all just puts them together.
Valid points, but I'm not sure it's fair lumping CCM in with your friend's experience of a Mutt given they operate at VERY different price points. As for issues on the motorways ... I think you'd be mad riding one of these on the motorway, given it's not built for that and the experience would be unpleasant in the extreme! And British manufacture? Difficult one. It adds massively to the cost, which is why a Norton Commando costs double what an ostensibly similar Royal Enfield Conti GT does. And Triumph couldn't sell small bikes for the price it does without overseas manufacture. In car world even Rolls-Royce assembles bits from suppliers, after all. Anyway, thanks for the comment, interesting points!
Everything you say is bang on. I have a Blackout which is virtually identical to the Maverick. No regrets.
My retirement bike.. love it..

Hold that thought/watch this space - there may be more where this came from in the pipeline! 😉
Raw joy! As it should be

Drool bikes here as well! Worth the trip, though if you come up north to where CCM is based we have better roads!

Great video. Love my Spit. Raw rider involvement. Low weight means faster everywhere.
Ride better than it looks.
I want but not available in the USA.

I had money down on a Foggy replica. After more than a year with no build date in sight, I got my deposit back.
That's a shame, sorry to hear that.
@@midlifecrisismotorcyclist I was gutted. How many of them have you seen on the road?
@@mrsilbo6499 I bet you were. Not exactly a common sight either, not sure I’ve ever seen one in wild.
@@mrsilbo6499I saw one a few months back for sale at a Sheffield bike shop. Was out my price range though.
