Perhaps your earliest memory of Mexico occurred in school, or from watching a movie, or a television show or sporting event, or accidentally listening to Mexican music? Or perhaps it was your father or mother or another family member or a friend who first introduced you to anything relating to Mexico for the very first time in your life? Or maybe your very first knowledge of Mexico occurred in some other way?
For example, I was just 5 years old in 1985 when my father took me to watch Rocky IV on the movie theaters. This was the first time that I had ever heard the words: The United States of America. Before Rocky IV, I didn't know what the U.S. was or that it was even a country.
