    Rnd 5: [inc, 3 dc] repeated (60)
    Rnd 6: [inc, 4 dc] repeated (72)
    **OPTIONAL** Row 6.5: [inc, 5 dc] repeated (84)

    Rnd 8-15: dc in each stitch (72 or 84)
    Rnd 16: BLO, increase in each stitch (144 or 168)
    Rnd 17-18: BLO, dc in each stitch (144 or 168)

    • @savannahfletcher
      @savannahfletcher  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      you could certainly do it that way and it will turn out super cute! my method was just slightly different: I basically used this pattern to finish the hat completely (still doing the last row in red). then on my mushroom hat video, I show how to change colors and do one round of single crochet with white. So basically, we do an extra round for the mushroom hat! like i said though, both work just fine and you can do whatever you prefer!

    • @savannahfletcher
      @savannahfletcher  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hmm, it's hard to say how much smaller it will come out (also depends on the yarn size and how tightly you crochet) but I think if you add that optional round 7, it should be pretty close to how my hat comes out... If you do want it to be a little bigger, maybe add another increasing round at round 8. The pattern for that would be:
      [inc, 6 DC] - repeat around ~~ Total: 96 stitches
      Hopefully that makes sense!! Good luck, I'm sure your hat is going to look amazing!! 🤩💖

    • @gretagt9263
      @gretagt9263 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, i know i’m not the creator but i’d say you’ve got a few options. You could do one less round of increase, thought that would be the more drastic change. You could also use a smaller yarn size and/or smaller hook, and work with tighter tension. If the issue is that the hat is too long, you could just do one less dc row, i.e dc rows 8-14 instead of 8-15. Depends on what kind of smaller you want it to be…feel free to ask clarifying questions!

    soo this is my first bucket hat and this tutorial is super helpful!! but if i add more rows on the top after the additional 7th row you mentioned I could include if it is too small, would it affect any other parts of the bucket hat??

    • @savannahfletcher
      @savannahfletcher  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a great question!! The only thing to keep in mind is that you will have an extra 12 stitches to the stitch count of each row (after you do the additional 7th row)! Otherwise, follow the same patterns as I do, just plan to have an extra 12 stitches! Hope this helps!!

    Do we keep with that number when we do the back loop rows or? Like I mean when we add a thing?

    • @savannahfletcher
      @savannahfletcher  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question! I guess it depends on which back loop row:
      Row 7: yep, keep that same number of stitches as previous row (72)
      Row 16: no, this is an increase row, so the stitches go from 72 to 144 after you finish the round
      Row 17-18: yep, keep that same number of stitches as previous row (144)

  • @Kay-jk5nb
    @Kay-jk5nb 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    hello i have a question! i am on row 16 and i cant tell if you turned the hat inside out. ive been crocheting up until now with the yarn end (the piece that is leftover from the magic circle) on the outside of the hat. how did you get rid of the yarn end, and did you invert the hat so where the yarn end originally was ends up on the inside of the hat before continuing to row 17-18?

    • @alexrose1464

You want it about that size before you do the straight double crochet rows (along the sides). If you get the flat part that big, then the rest of the hat should be the right size!! Ehhh, I would say not really if you are within one mm or so of the hook I'm using. Beyond that, your hat will probably be noticeably bigger or smaller. If you only have a certain hook size though, you could always improvise a little and do more/less rounds increasing to compensate for a different hook!

    • @savannahfletcher
      @savannahfletcher  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ooops!! That's okay! 😭 It should be 84... since we started with 12 stitches and increase by 12 stitches each time, the total should divide by 12! And 84/12 conveniently comes out to 7! Which makes sense for row 7. A cool little trick I learned! If you were on track for the stitch count after round 6, just try to redo that round 7! Or maybe you did an extra round of the same pattern (used in round 7)... Check if you actually have 8 rounds instead of 7! I hope this helps! 💖
