      The Bugatti Type 35B produced 138 hp when launched in 1927 and weighs 750 kgs (1650 lbs.) That's a power to weight ratio of 184 hp per 1000 kg, a brand new Ford Mustang V6 has 187.5 hp per 1000 kg, which is extremely impressive, considering that the Bug is 90 years old.

    • @philipclayberg4928
      @philipclayberg4928 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Stuart: Then you can imagine what it was like driving one of the Silver Arrows (Auto Union and Mercedes-Benz). Sawing away at the wheel, tire sliding (as well as wearing out the tires), horsepower somewhere north of 500 hp, speeds exceeding 200 mph (in the 1930s!). The 16-cylinder engine of the Auto Union Type C (regular body, not the streamliner body) had so much torque that its rear wheels would spin in first gear and (because it was rear-engined) would happily slide its tail out until the car was almost going sideways around some curves.

I'm sure these machines last LONGER mechanically if you treat them as they were originally built to be driven....HARD...…….as hard as you can push them.
