Nick Skelton is a former British show jumper who ended his successful career on April 5, 2017 at the age of 59. He started riding at the age of 18 months and won an individual gold medal and two team silver medals at the 1975 European Junior Championships. Skelton took part in the European Show Jumping Championships for 26 years and won a total of nine medals, including three gold medals. He achieved his greatest successes at the Olympic Games: in 2012 he won team gold for Great Britain, and in 2016 he won the individual gold medal with his horse Big Star. Shortly after the 2016 Olympics, Skelton retired with Big Star. 🏇🏻🏅

@@flopi_cook_u8754bro you have never ridden a horse properly then and don't say you rode one at a friends or a event. Riders have to move a specific way for each of the horses gaits using our core and leg muscles. We also steer using our legs. As well as keeping our arms up, shoulders back, heels down, looking up and using our muscles. If we didn't we would fall. If you don't think using all our muscles and moving WITH the horse a specific way for each of the horses gaits and movements i don't beleive any thing in the olympics is a sport then

Yes, equestrians take their own horses to competitions. The horses are used to travel by plane.

How does they count points?
knocking a pole/a refusal is 4 faults. 3 refusals/a fall is disqualification. the winners are then the ones w the least faults and the quickest time x
They treat the horses disrespectfully. I rode differently I just made my horse familiar with routine/new ring, then let him lead. When I crouched for a jump I NEVER landed upright, immediately jerking on the exquisitedly sensitive mouth, in fact, when i had a choice in competition, i used NO Bit.
To land upright is damaging to the skeleton and just wierd, why do that, land crouched, then if your horses doesn't know the expectation gently guide, pulling one rein, in direction of next jump. What is all this jerkiness about, why is the rider wanting to sit upright and jerk on horse in anticipation of next jump?
My dogs were the same way, ppl asked "how do you get them to stay with you", because i didn't use leases (or collars, really dislike collars), and i would respond "How do you get them to leave, I've been trying to cut down my pack for years?"
Horses are EXACTLY like dogs, they do exactly what they WANT to do, but, if they respect you, they will do what you want them to do.
