    The turbo S, the only supercar that you can drive in the heaviest of snow and the sunniest of days. Also, the rear engine layout gives the best grip over the rear wheels for acceleration, so it’s a balancing act between acceleration and corner speed. Love the channel!

      It's true! Having the weight at the rear helps a lot with acceleration, but it becomes a problem when cornering. It's really a marvel of engineering that Porsche has managed to get such great track cars out of the a RR layout. Thank you for watching the channel and subscribing :) we're almost at 1.000 now!

      @@abriatusI agree the rear engine gave the 911 alot of cornering problems on early models however the engine has moved more and more to the center… it’s more of a mid-engine so cornering is much better.

    I have a 991.2 carrera S and it’s a very regular visitor to my local Porsche dealership. It’s had new turbo’s , water pump, air con system, brake assist servo and brake lines plus broken rear coil spring replaced with only 23,000 miles on the clock . I would strongly recommend a Porsche warranty unless you have very deep pockets. All the repairs were fixed under warranty but the dealer said the repairs would have been 15,000 if I had paid😢😢.

    Do you guys think a 2015 is still a good year/new enough? or better to get a 2021 base 911?

    1:30 "Air-cooled 911's were considered garbage" I'd love to see your source for this comment cause the 911 has always been a desirable object.

    • @abriatus
      @abriatus  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Prices reflect that sentiment. Aircooled 911s could be had for 10-15k in the 2000s. I still remember tons of people wondering why a “junk” 70s Carrera was selling for 20 grand on forums. If you want actual links: here’s a R&T article mentioning prices back then and a guy on Quora also talking about it:

    drove a 992 911 turbo s, took it up to 310kmh, it's fast and fun but not more fun to drive than my 2012 min coupe. and cost 30. times less. I also own a 2020 x3m comp and its collecting dust as I have to decide which car to drive......

  • @fantastictime2780

    Nobody ever ever thought air cooled 911's were garbage!!!! Prices were low on all cars back then.

    • @abriatus
      @abriatus  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! That's not true at all. Most of the 911's rivals were still worth a lot of money back then, it was just the Porsche. And then it soared starting in the mid 2000s.

    Why does Porsche still insist on inserting a key fob and on the left side?

    • @abriatus
      @abriatus  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s a heritage thing going back to the Le Mans days. Having the key there allows you to start the car with your left hand and putting it into first with your right hand at the same time
