I'm really happy this episode happened. Always thought Kirsten was a great add to the show, and listening to this reinforces that good things happen to good people, even after going through some horrible shit! This was a great start to the new year!
Best HoneyDew ep of 2024 coming in right at the end! We love you Kirsten ❤️ Personal, vulnerable, painful, and yet still finding a way to make it humorous. This is how you highlight the lowlights
Thank you Kristen for your honesty and vulnerability. I hope this episode helps others to realize things can get better and not to be ashamed to seek help
Her last name stood out to me because there’s a few nearby and then she says “I grew up in a really small town in Iowa” and I about fell out of my chair 🤣 I didn’t know she was from Iowa, so cool!! Great episode, loved getting to know her better ❤
Amazing to get some insight into the woman behind the scenes!! Seeing what a clusterfck production so many other podcasts are , it's extra impressive how smoothly The Dew runs. Just one of a thousand more reasons Sickler and his team are the best!!
I really enjoyed learning more about Kirsten. We are close in age and it sounds like we grew up very similar. I haven't been diagnosed with ADHD, but I feel like I had the same experience in school and could peobly get a diagnoses now if I sought it. Thanks for sharing your story Kirsten, that sounds like a lot to deal with as a young adult. So happy to see you thriving with the Dew. Love yall, happy new year!
I instantly knew Kirsten was a good person when Princess loved her so much❤🤗 I am sorry you had to go through all that, Kirsten! I have dealt with public psychiatric hospitals and it was wild, so I can't imagine what it is like in a military hospital, especially while your husband is still working for them. By the way, a lot of the diagnostic decisions are made based on reimbursement funding. I found that out when I was 16 and saw paperwork that said I was bipolar and asked my therapist why they never discussed that with me (my diagnosis had always been panic disorder and PTSD). And he said not to pay it any attention. Then one of the nurses whispered to me that bipolar meant more approved days in the hospital at a higher rate of pay for the hospital. But those psychiatrists don't stop to think, that diagnosis can alter ALL the other treatment you receive from doctors for the rest of your life, when people assume you are actually bipolar. I hope that you have started to heal from their malpractice and that you consider studying up on your rights as a patient, so you can feel more empowered knowing what they can and cannot do, if you seek psychiatric treatment. And I hope you find a great therapist who can help you put together a detailed outpatient safety plan to effectively address insomnia. (My family member started ketamine nasal spray at a medical clinic and has had great results and hasn't been hospitalized since. So you may want to ask about that if you begin to struggle again). Thanks for sharing your story and for keeping Ryan's podcasts running smoothly❤
I can relate so much with the experience of being under a hold a few times and it’s brutal especially if you are high functioning and know what’s happening. So often they don’t listen.
2:27 thank you… but we’ve already met, a couple of times (@ your shows Ryan)… & I just love her. She’s so sweet, so talented, & so happy to meet fans of her work.
Did? She's not leaving is she? Not looking to nitpick grammar like "Acshually then it should be _is_ wa wa waa" but I just grew genuinely concerned because she's great.
Yes "did" because it's past tense. This isn't a live episode. So yes, she's right. She "did" well on the dew. The hell are you even saying?? Lol @@Blueswailer
Great way to share your story. But when you are with the doctors trying to help you. Take time to talk to them and give them all information of your history. Sometimes they have a hard time finding it.
Mom and dad screaming in the basement or mom and dad and friends smoking pot in the basement was my childhood but it really wasn’t that bad…. Kinda fond memories
I went to a small school in Andrew Iowa. There was 3 year old pre schoolers up to seniors all in the same building. And I'm pretty sure I graduated with pretty much all the same people I was in pre school with.
I love most of the comics and all the stories but for some reason I agree with a lot of you here, this might be the best of the year. Something about the average human nature of Kirsten and her case is fantastic. Thanks Kirsten and Ryan!
I had almost the same exact experience the insomnia they misdiagnosed me as bipolar and I'm ADHD not bipolar I had to take all kinds of mood stabilizers anti depressant none of which worked because I'm not bipolar I loved the day I told the psych doctor to shove his meds he tried to put me on an antidepressant for my antidepressant
We have 8A schools in illinois… they have 5,000+ kids per graduation class💀 i went into high school and we were 1A with a total of 437 people in the school, but i guess if you win a state championship in a sport, then you would go up an “A” in that one sport, so we were 1A in everything except for Football and Track, we were 3A in those by my junior year, just to get bumped up to 4A my senior year… We got SMOKED🤣
Listened to the podcast, came here to express what a great ep this was. Kirsten, you’re an amazing chick and I felt the same way going through my own 5150. Fuck the crab fest
33:29 I was in a relationship with a guy for years who wouldn’t let me on the bathroom alone - didn’t realize it happened to others Thanks for telling your story.. love to hear your voice behind the camera !!!
Idk man. This seems like a very average mediocre life. Also are we supposed to just take her word for all the boyfriend stuff? Only fair to hear both sides of the story. Put the boyfriend on next.
I'm really happy this episode happened. Always thought Kirsten was a great add to the show, and listening to this reinforces that good things happen to good people, even after going through some horrible shit! This was a great start to the new year!
“Now your aims good!?” Lmao 😂 Kirsten’s a savage 👏
Sent me😂

Probably one of my fav eps. Love when we get to hear stories from behind the scenes people

Hey, it takes a lot of guts to share that type of information. One of the better podcasts lately. Great job thanks for being so open.❤

Thank you for sharing your story. It’s scary how many abusive men are out there. It’s a real problem.
Love this. I'm also from Iowa and have an Uncle that goes to Knoxville every year. Iowa shit getting excited when you hear other people are from Iowa!
Hell yeah, love Kirsten! The story of her dashing out of the building in a hospital gown 😂 poor girl has had some tough times!
We miss Kirsten on the JoshPotterShow but happy to see her here
I can relate so much with the experience of being under a hold a few times and it’s brutal especially if you are high functioning and know what’s happening. So often they don’t listen.

“It gets worse” are not the words you think you should hear after “I charged the armed guard with my tits out” 😂

Kirsten looking gorgeous today
The Wayback Episode a patreon exclusive? Or is it this weeks episode?
Her story is an example of why the mental health system is so broken. Her story is terrifying.
Know any of the Schneiders in Melcher-Dallas, Kirsten?
Absolutely! Lots of them. We had Schneider’s farm some of our land for quite a few years!
33:29 I was in a relationship with a guy for years who wouldn’t let me on the bathroom alone - didn’t realize it happened to others
Thanks for telling your story.. love to hear your voice behind the camera !!!

More like I'm at home reading a book with a cat type.

Dosing your friends is fun--
But it *isnt* okay.
We might have those friends who might be okay with it- but dosing someone close to you without their consent is literally rape. 😢
So no body going to address she got I shiner on her left eye?!
What are you talking about?
Smoking weed
Everyday!

Wheeeewww!!!! I seen the thumbnail and thought the son from sopranos turned trans for a sec!!!!
Seems a little rehearsed to me.
I knew she was a cutie from that voice
Idk man. This seems like a very average mediocre life. Also are we supposed to just take her word for all the boyfriend stuff? Only fair to hear both sides of the story. Put the boyfriend on next.
It’s the internet G, take it or leave it.
Are you the ex boyfriend?
Of course! Because abusive people are always open and honest about their behavior 🙄
Damn, out of interesting guests already?
Who?
