Claude
wonderful playing and great video! I'd love to grab my guitar now and jam over this stellar chord progression. Would it be crazy to ask for a little Christmas gift to the world if you shared this as a a backing track in a vid??? Cheers bro!
Great idea. I've made the backing track available for download here: www.clauderuelle.net/free-tab-transcriptions
Just pop in your email and you'll receive a link to download it. Merry Christmas.
@@ClaudeRuelle You are a star!!
Thank you so much for the video, it's taught me a lot and have given me so much to try.
The first time I stumbled across Steve Lukather's short video clip, I wanted to understand how he managed to achieve this beautiful riff. Your video has opened this door for me.
I'm so glad that so many others were so moved by the pickup demo as I was when I first saw it, I watch it pretty often when I'm in a rut.
I've been looking for a note for note tutorial since this came out. Wonderfull piece.
Glad it was helpful!
Me too!!
Great video and awesome playing my friend!
Thanks man!
Es tan importante para mi y para muchos otros lo que acabas de explicar como nadie en este video que esto no tiene precio, es oro puro, eres un gran maestro y lo valoro mucho..... simplemente gracias!!!! Un abrazo desde arg🇦🇷
About up picking : For me, it's all about the rhythmic precision and continuous movement inherent in alternate picking. You know, the '1 e & a' rhythm where 'e' and 'a' are upstrokes. The swing feel, syncopation, and the subtle nuances like 'lay back' are all hidden within alternate picking. Another reason I prefer it is for bending; I find the attack precision on a bent string is better when executed with an upstroke. Up picking became instinctively integrated into my vocabulary when I learned to read rhythmic figures. The continuous movement we make when strumming chords also applies to the rhythm of melodic lines. I'm not sure if that's why Luke does it this way, but practicing rhythmic figures, especially with a triplet feel, leads us to use up picking without even realizing it. Great video .
Priceless!!!✨✨ thank u
awesome video and great playing! this is quality content I subscribed!
Thank you for your kind words, sir!
Subscribed because of this video! Thanks!
Claude: This was such a treat! I'd to have just one musician friend in my life these days who is as talented and thoughtful as yourself. At this point I believe I may have out-lived them all. I came across the Steve Lukather/Dimarzio pickup video a few moths ago and was truly moved by what Steve referred to as "just noodling around". I listen to it almost every day, study what he is doing and play along. I actually got is figured out recently but your observations and explanation added context to what I learned which is very valuable. Thank you, Claude! You made a new friend today :)
Thank you so much for your very kind comment! I'm glad I could help.
Great video. Awsome music from Steve.. love it
Thank you!
Nice work. I just watched the di marzio video with him yesterday
Very interesting analysis !
love this lesson. im also gonna start sayin pent-at-onic and devil-op as much as i can
Thanks! Glad you liked it
Awesome
Totally forgot this demo for DiMarzios from Steve. It was 11 years ago. Thanks for reminding me. Got to practise it again.
I hope you obtain goldfleas's "practicistict" awesome man!
Hi Claude good job lll
What a pity but there is no guitar tabs with your vidéo.
Thanks.
Great job! Thanks. Wonderful sound, how do you do it?
Thank you! I’m going through a Strymon iridium set to the punch setting (Marshall plexi) with a little bit of gain. Then I’ve got some delay coming from a Line 6 M9. And finally a little bit of compression and convolution reverb added in post.
Great video! Steve is my all time favourite guitarist and I too love his slower melodic runs to death. Those are just so beautiful and emotional! Would be great to see you deconstruct and analyze the outro improvisation in the live version of I'll be Over You on the 35th anniversary concert if possible: th-cam.com/video/vvfXWdKNDxs/w-d-xo.html
Thanks Jay, I’ll take a look at this
You're a good guy and a good guitar player but you cant deconstruct Steve Lukather in 10 mins, would take a decade lol
Really good video. Your playing is excellent!!! Thanks for creating such content!!!
Thanks a lot, I’m glad you liked it
Is there Tab for this?
Unfortunately no tabs for this but you can download the backing track
Great video and playing man, I don't understand music theory but I enjoyed it very much nad I know you spent quite some time to do this :D
Thanks a lot!

Thank you very much!
Great video Claude, thanks for sharing! On point!!!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video!
Great Video ❤
Thank you!
Dude, this is so nice and well played. I´m so thankfull for that Video. Thank you
Damn
To me an upstroke is another form of expression, compared to a downstroke. I can dig into a string with a downstroke for a more aggressive sound, but that sound totally different as when i try to do that with an upstroke, since with an upstroke you slap the fret at the rebound, giving it a sort of funky attack.
I can't believe you didn't mention his signature MusicMan guitar, Luke 3
Great job man!
Ahh, such an excellent video!!
Thanks a lot!
Aweson work buddy!!!
