TNX for giving us a "peek under the hood" ! I bet these will be selling like hot cakes which hopefully will bring prices down on the "higher end" SA's! Can you imagine if this technology was available 20yrs ago? Still not like what the big boys use that cost over 20k but what a great tool for learning and taking simple ball park measurements! Guess I need to get one now! TNX 4 the upload and keep em coming!!! 73 N8AUM
Hello, I just purchased a TinySA and Im experiencing some filter alarms in the self test mode... (Test 7: Stop band critical, Test 8 Passband fail, Test 9 Above fail, Test 10 Stopband fail). I opened it up and found some missing components on the board compared to yours: C32, C33, C34, C35 and R7, and the cans are missing too. I guess that if I can add those components I could work this out as these are filter components... Is there anywhere I can find the schematic (or the component values)? please let me know... Congratulations for the great contents of your channel, Im a fan! 73 de LU2AW
@@IMSAIGuy yes, I guessed so, I purchased it on Ebay from an USA seller and Im in Argentina, theres no way I can return it as the shipping cost from here is almost the same as the SA price, thats why Im looking for the caps values... Anyway thanks for your ultrafast response!. Regards
My eyes are bleeding. Please don't zoom in those SMA connectors. You are doing spectrum analyzer, just pay more attention while soldering connectors at least live pins.
Great teardown, thanks for sparing my TinySA a teardown when it shows up😉
@7:48 S169 is AS169 from skyworks. it is a SPDT switch. looks like switching si4432 rx/tx ports.

Thanks for sharing! The discrete filter seems to be a Cauer aligned filter, with the caps in parallel with all those series inductors.

If I wanted a nice SA I'd get the siglent with tracking generator. about $1300 in addition to the TinySA
Looking @4:35 R15 seems to be missing from the board. Not sure if that is intentional or not.
I noticed that too. I expect it is intentional
