Maru Bihag is a sweet raga. With a properly masculine voice, Panditji gives it the most appropriate romantic treatment. His personality is immersed in the Raga and shows its love for all the nuances! Beyond words! I started writing this comment thinking that I could do some justice to the emotions his performance evokes. I fail! :)
when I saw panditji in Ausa(latur), from that time, up to this day,I listen different ragas. Really just like we are doing meditation. no words very nice.
You are a blessed soul Karande ji. Pranaam. Panditji's paramseva to his guruji has ensured that Panditji shall remain forever in the hearts of his fans like us. Namo Narayan.
He is a top quality musician. Very mellifluous and rustic. Sad he was not able to make it among the top names early in this career! Amazing concert.....
The last song sung here is a composition in Kannada; it is of saint Kanakadasa (15th century) of Kaaginele in northern Karanataka, who is well known with his poetic signature "Adi Keshava". Story has it that the statue of Lord Krishna in Udupi signature tuned around to give darshan to this great saint. Visitors to Udipi will see Sri Krishna through "Kanakana kinDi" or the "window of kanaka" which is at the back of the temple. Pt. Venkatesh Kumar sings this song so soulfully that it brings tears in listeners eyes. The song speaks of great truth, and here are the wordings and meaning. toredu jeevisabahude hari ninna charaNagala baride maatEkinnu aritu peLuvenayya || p || Is the possible to live without holding your feet oh Lord Hari, why just talk, I have experienced, so I will speak of it. taayi tandeya bittu tapava maaDalu bahudu daayadi bandhugaLa bidalu bahudu | raaya taa munidare raajyavane biDabahudu kaayaja pita ninna aDiya biDalagadu || 1 || One can give up father and mother and go on to do penance (tapas) one can give up all relatives and friends to move on in life if the king becomes angry, one can vacate and move away from that kingdom but Lord of this body, it is not possible to give up your feet. oDalu hasiyalu annavilladale irabahudu paDeda kshEtrava biTTu horaDabahudu | maDadi makkaLa kaDege tolagisiye biDabahudu kaDaloDeya ninnaDiya ghaLige biDalaagadu || 2 || if the stomach is hungry, one can still live without food one can give hard earned land and property in the extreme case, one can kick out wife and children but Lord of the ocean, it is not possible even for a moment, to give up your feet. praaNavanu pararu kElidare etti koDabahudu maanadali manava taggisalu bahudu | praaNadaayakanaada aadi kEshavaraaya jaaNa krishNa, ninnaDiya ninnaDiya biDalaagadu || 3 || If others ask for your life, one can give it up one can subdue the mind and do henious things (including selling one's body) but Lord Adi Keshava the very provider of life force the clever and wonderful Sri Krishna, it is not possible to give up your feet.
Indeed I too attended this. It was really beautiful rendition of raga Marubihag by Panditji. I just love his performance. And thanks for uploading this mahefal of Panditji au Aundh, Satara.
NO. It is supposed to be KANNADA, the language. The song after the marathi abhang is a kannada bhajan. Typical North Indian way of deleting the last 'a' from Kannada. It's frustrating. BTW, The raga he sang is just Bageshri, not Bageshri kanada!
ydhister your name should be dhrutaratra - why you are bringing politics to music that also with your blind love for congress - shame on you - listen music and comment in sensible way
Blissful rendering! Takes you to utmost enjoyment! Thank you Panditji

Mersmerizing singing; My humble opinion is that he must give himself a little more space between taans- He is singing it almost breathless;
Gandharva Ganam
Can anybody translate the first bhajan in English?

Whoever named it, its not Bageshri Kannad; dolts. Its Bageshri Kanada.

using words like dolt is not right. why so much aggression? listen and enjoy
Typical BJP reaction.
