i get y'all bout the praying on social media thing but i think it all depends on the context. the videos that i see and like are the ones that people are praying for people or with people. it's actually super helpful bc sometimes there are moments where i do really need prayer and do not know what to say. prayer is super powerful - people can be moved thru screens, and praying WITH people is great as well. like in church for instance, i pray with people all the time, as a whole congregation, we are all praying. it helps stir up people's faith and it's an essential part of building the kingdom of God! i get what y'all are saying though, prayer is super intimate, it's a special time between you and your Father that we get the privilege to have at any time of the time thanks to Jesus. i haven't send the videos y'all are talking bout but i can totally see how it can seem disingenuous. however, there are people that take things to the extreme everywhere you know. sorry this is long winded but i just felt led to comment on that topic - hope i was able to give y'all some insight!
5 minutes with Jesus. I wanted to respond to the praying out loud comment section. For a little bit of a back story I didn’t necessarily grow up in church I started to go more during my middle school days and that’s where my faith began to grow. In my opinion people who are religious pray out loud do so because a lot of times we are giving thanks and glory or we are praying over and for a specific situation. In the Bible it says to give god worthy glory meaning if my prayer is silent and quiet is that what I believe gods glory is worth. I’m also a football fan and I yell and scream when my team scores and wins. How can I scream and yell for a team that probably doesn’t know I even exist but not give equal energy to whom I believe saved me and my loved ones. Also if I inspire to be a leader in faith how can I do so without being an example. When I was first building my relationship with god I didn’t know how to pray but it was through listening to other leaders and people of faith pray that I was able to learn and form my own way of praying. Praying should be personal yes I agree but I also know that when my son grows up I want him to learn from his father and mother what prayer sounds like. He may not want to follow the same religion when he grows up but I will at least had shown him and allowed him to hear what a father who prays looks like. Also I know this is late but I watch y’all’s podcasts in order and never skip and in between life I just got behind but I’ve watched all the podcasts up to this one and will continue to watch. I appreciate and encourage you to keep doing what you’re doing. Thank you.
