I had a great DM who ran this module soon after the TSR publishing. To this day it holds many great memories and was some the best fun I've had playing D&D.
I have wanted to read Castle White rock since I first started listening to you two long long ago, and now it was just available on the humble bundle so I got it.
In many reviews, the art of Jim Halloway often gets some flack. To me, he was always my favorite TSR illustrator (after Larry Elmore). His inking technique is so clean with great hatching; the monsters, characters and gear are realistically proportioned, and have an almost comic book feel to them. Of course, he rendered his characters with plenty of expression and emotion, and yes, I think that is where much of the criticism comes into play, especially because he would add a touch of comedy to his visions. My only strike against his work is that his posturing of characters could come off as a little stiff. Although anatomically proportionate, they sometimes seemed like they needed to loosen up.
Most likely. The arrangement they had with WOTC where they weren't allowed to make a DCC version and not allowed to release a PDF is very unappealing. With Dark Tower, Caverns of Thracia, Grimtooths traps Goodman Games can do what they want and use their own DCC rules.
I get that, just there were tons of classics ready to get the works 🤷♂️. That being said, I’m completely done with Wizards anyway. Hey, Joe! When you going to stop messing around and just acquire the entire Judges Guild library already! 😉😂
@@vogless I'd love to see a whole campaign treatment for Hidden Shrine in the same vein as Dwellers of the Forbidden City but alas. If WotC was smart they'd reprint and sell all the 1e and 2e titles. It would be a cash cow for them and retailers. Cost would be negligible
Love this adventure
Me too

9:00 I had an anti-paladin named Sharez Chek, and thought I invented it. Turns out it was a Dr. Who character in the 80s.
Iron Maiden 'Powerslave' is the album and song you're trying ro recall. 🤘🏻🤩

Idea for OAR after #9: the J.G. Portals supplements, with additional worlds and new content for the three published ones
Ah yeah the 10k ft fall, DMG falling rules.... terminal velocity, quick math, my fighter will be okay. "Good luck guys!" YEET!
Shocked they only play once every two weeks and once per month. Figured since they work in the industry that they’d game more often.

I thought the next OAR was Caverns of Thracia, has something happened to that product?
Is the OAR line done with TSR modules?
feel like it.

Then these guys need to quit kissing WotCs a**

A lot of these did that. Isle of Dread was my ending disappointment
Kind of let down by the latest OAR announcement. I've gotten every one up till now but I might skip this one.
