Watching doremy is so enjoyable because you don't just see him doing 4-wides, but instead a lot of speed and skill overall.

S/Z-spins are some of the more difficult ones to wrap your head around, but they don't hold a candle to I-spins (which the first game _never elaborates on,_ thereby leaving you to jump into the deep end of the pool). Executing the setups happens to be much harder for TSTs and DT cannons than simpler T-spins and J/L-spin doubles, and even then, it's easier than setting up S/Z-spins, especially if triples are involved. (Yes, I'm aware that only T-spins are rewarded.)
for S spins you start by rotating the piece to the right
and then get it onto the play field in the right place and rotate to the right again
and for the z piece it's the other way
and L/J spins really just require a 2+ high wall and an L/J shaped hole

It feels harder to beat puyo with tetris in this version...
They slowed down attacks from Tetris for anything that triggers the attack animations, compared to PPT1. It also makes it harder to fight 4wide with b2b Tetrises/tspins

@@Vissorilio From what I can tell, Puyo Puyo seems to have a slight advantage and wins more than 50% of the time. But that is only based on outside observation, as I've never actually played Puyo Puyo Tetris, so you may be right, idk.

i continue to be baffled that puzzle league versus is still the most active ranked mode
i can get puyo league being (somewhat) dead because champions exists and puyo players apparently hate how puyo feels in ppt1&2 but why do tetris players opt for puzzle league instead of tetris league? matchup was already an uninteractive travesty against competitive balance in ppt1, and in ppt2 they both butchered piece movement AND buffed puyo damage output significantly so it's somehow even less fun. i just don't get it
Can you explain what you mean by piece movement? Cause I feel like I’m experiencing that but I’m not quite sure
@@White_Ivy_ DAS and entry delay are both a frame or two slower. it makes the game feel more sluggish and less fluid, as well as causing more misdrops through dropped hold and rotation inputs (or even just playing faster than the game allows)
it's not really that noticeable unless you're fast and do finesse but it contributes to the game feeling as messy and unfinished as it does
@@MercuryPenny ahh I gotcha, cause I like to consider myself an exceptionally fast Tetris player, and was experiencing misdrops I wouldn’t normally make. It felt like the joystick was really sensitive since I use that for hard dropping and moving left and right

This feels so unwinable for tetris, i feel like you were pretty much as fast as ppt allows it, and you kept pressuring at an rate i could see no way to make better without sacrificing speed, therefore losing anyways... feels bad
4 wide is really good against puyo why he lost was that he used t spins and Tetris but he didn’t combo them I think that’s the only way to beat a profesional puyo or I might be wrong

4-Wide is tldr A huge clutch and an shameful, unskilled, and broken tech, mostly in ppt and now also got "buffed" on ppt2. People are starting to not do it for pure respect. Because its so easy to learn and rookies can beat the BEST players just because they 4-wide. Its like, you cant lose if you 4 wide unless the 4 wider missdropped or is incopetent, or very unlucky rng. So basically its not up to the oponent anymore to win the game if someone 4-wides you.
If you get 4 wided it would be wiser to pray to god for he to missdrop or have an horrendous bag than using anymore energy trying to win that game, even if you did as many t-spins ppt could allow you to, you would still die to the 4 wide. See the problem?
Some games changed how 4wides interact with the game, I think the best example is Tetr.io. on tetrio, combo works as the following, the more the combo, he bigger the multiplier so the 4 wide is shit by itself, 1 line multiplied by 2 is just 2 line, but if you clear multiple lines with combo multiplier, imagine sending 15 lines, its awesome.
Now on ppt it just keeps adding flat damage, so combo 3 is 1 line, then 2 line, 3 lines, 4, 5, 6, 7... Its just way too much damage, one tetris sends up to 5 lines if its b2b, while 4 wide be sending 2 tetrises per line, its unwinable unless you do the same.

@@coppermat 4 wide doesn't work against puyo. The reason is that while you're building the 4 wide, the puyo player has free reign to build their chain. And a puyo chain is always stronger than a 4 wide in terms of damage, so you will always top out while executing your 4 wide.
Doremy has the right strategy here, it's just that his opponent is extremely good at dealing with tetris players.

@@White_Ivy_ I can see why, since PvT requires the puyo player to drastically change their playstyle & the puyo color randomiser is still very luck-based. SSENRED makes it look easy cus he's just that good lol
