      Didn't you watch this video? The shovel pass for a touchdown was an easy pass, a stat padder. The missed middle field read against the split safeties at the end of the game was the game winning touchdown pass that was lost.

      Its simple to understand. They refuse to allow receivers over the top which forces offenses to grind out victories. Few teams have the patience and the skill to win games like Atlanta did. Imagine if you will, the Packers changing course and becoming a run stopping defense. Will that make you feel any better when Mahomes comes and puts up 50 on them? In the NFL its pick your poison and the Packers decided years ago that theyre not gonna get beat by easy long td passes. Not saying I like it, but I understand it.

    The last quarter was soooooo painful. I was at the game and just had no idea what they were trying to accomplish and where our smart play calling went

    • @thehistoricalgamer
      @thehistoricalgamer ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well the second to last posession MLF went into turtle and pray mode, Love didn't even get to throw the ball.

    • @michaeldegrave5905
      @michaeldegrave5905 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I don't understand this take. There were three possessions in the 4th quarter, the third of which was with 50 seconds and no timeouts. On the first possession at 22:48 in the video, Love misses a wide open Doubs, then we have a run play, and then a bad 3rd down play. The 3rd down play is a bad call, and should rightly be criticized, but I'm not even sure it was MLF since it was an audible. On the second possession they're milking the clock and get a 3rd and 1 after two run plays. That's basically the perfect outcome in that situation. Then your big bruiser back slips and falls in the backfield for the second time and can't pick it up. What's wrong with those three play calls? Then for the final drive we've got some kind of desperate plays without much time left. There were some opportunities but required some tight throws or some good catches that just didn't happen. What more do you want?

  • @CompoundingTime

      Didn't help Dillon was bad and couldn't stay on his feet. I have 0 doubt if they just had Jones vs the falcons they win.
      On the other side it's not Jordan loves fault his elite defense, supposedly a top 10 unit can't even hold a 12 point lead in the 4th. Love what I see from love but I don't know how much of the defense I can watch. It's the same fucking garbage as the last 2 seasons with Joe barry. Even if the offense didn't get a first down in the 4th, an elite NFL defense should be able to protect a 12 point lead. Then on 4th and 1 they give up and easy first to let the falcons take both timeouts and run it down another minute and a half.

    The 2nd play with the LB unblocked-sure looks like Rasheed Walker was supposed to also go right where he would have picked up that LB. It was so bad that it had to have been someone not doing his assignment. If it was scheme then maybe the O-line coaches need to seriously look at that. When the play happened what occurred to me right away was, what was up with Walker's vision. Looked like a B&W pickup of the LB. Also, at any point in the play there was at least one O-lineman not having anyone to block. At one point both Walker and Runyan had no one to block. Painful to watch.

    Could be going for the flat on the RB there to look for more YAC potential instead of going for the gimme play on the curl. Thing is though, that’s Dillon and he isn’t a very agile runner in transition so curl was probably the best bet regardless and should’ve been the number 2 read in that play.
    It would’ve made sense as a number 2 read if that was Aaron Jones in this game.

      It was 23-12 at that point. Kicking the XP and going up 12 is the play there. If you miss the 2 pointer and are only up 11, then Atlanta can tie you with a TD plus a FG. Being up 12 means that Atlanta has to either score 2 TDs or a TD and 2 FGs.

      Except the Packers would never lose by 2 in your hypothetical.

    Love is a viable NFL quarterback. That’s really all I needed as a fan this season , and I can see it in week 2.
    Get the run defense square. Put some mileage on those young receivers. Get our great LT and LG back on the field, and I think we have something.
    Sure will be nice to see Watson back on the field. Last years 7th rounder as the #2 WR and missing RB1 and your best OLs is s tough ask on the road in s dome.
    I think Coach might tried to get too cute at the end. Young QB, young WRs, Walker and Newman on the left side OL with no timeouts and 45 seconds? Love needed easy plays to get a couple quick first downs.

    On that sack play by ATL #55 (Kaden Elliss), yeesh Rasheed Walker...huge mistake. #27 (Patrick Taylor) appears set to chip from the outset of the play; if Walker (#63) just takes on the guy in front of him, Taylor gets the chip and a quick dumpoff over the head of #0 (Lorenzo Carter) right after.
    That play is emblematic of how poorly Walker has performed so far since being thrown into the starting lineup because of DBak's knee issues ending another season for him.
