That is wrong. As we know Panj=5. Aab=River( Sacred water). Panjaab a land of five rivers. So we should correct our state's name. It is East Panjaab and West Panjaab. Lahore is in West Panjaab. Amritsar is in East Pabjaab. It was one before1947. One day it will be one again.

This land is known as middle country since it falls between the two larger flanking rivers Indus and Saraswati, Guru Gobind Singh called Punjab Madr Desh in Dasam Granth, Madr means middle, desh means country. Hence the full name of Punjab is either Madr Desh or Sapt Sindu, since it takes into account all 7 rivers in to its geography.
