    Just bought one yesterday that was sad and dying so I had to rescue it and try and to save it. Fingers crossed for this newbie plant mom. 🤞🏼

      If you get a cup of water and leave the roots in it for a couple weeks the string of dolphins roots will grow fuller and faster. Mine had root rot so the roots were gone completely when I found it. I started propagating it in water without cutting it, just putting the succulent in water and it has long roots and the dolphins are happy. You can buy super happy ones on Amazon now

    I just got my first string of dolphins at my local nursery. It even has buds and looks like it will flower soon. Luckily I have a grow light so I hope to find success in growing it.

    I just recently got this one. Most of the strings refused to root and ended up shriveling up, but maybe 5 strings finally rooted and have started growing! There’s no more exciting moment in plant motherhood than seeing a plant settled in and starting to grow!

      I killed the first 10 cuz I overwatered or kept trying to shove their Roots down in the pot and they have Ariel roots so just let them grow down in don't try shoving them underneath there and then watering it cuz they will kill it you better off just let him lay across the top and I finally got it cuz I stopped over watering it but basically

    I’m receiving a free string of dolphins with my Leaf and Clay order. I’m excited to try this little guy out! I’ve heard that string of pearls is easy to rot and I’m totally intimidated by it. I’m happy to hear that this one is a little easier, and gives us thirst signs!

    I just got one a couple of months ago & it’s doing great. I have it hanging in a macrame planter over my tub in the master bathroom & it’s putting on lots of new growth. A few pieces broke off while putting it in the macrame planter and I just popped them in soil & they are putting on new growth as well. 🐬

    This is one of the first succulents I ever had and I had it in regular soil outside without shade during the rainy season. It took me months before I decided to look it up. I was horrified when I learned that it was rare and have specific growing needs 😅😅. I immediately repotted it in well draining soil and put it in bright shade but I was amazed by how robust its growth during its time of neglect.

    I bought this plant a month ago at my local nursery, I tend to have a black thumb but not only does this plant give no problems at all, it seems as if i can not hurt it. Its thriving no matter where I put it. It is super resilient and i was a little hesitant to buy it because my string of pearls did not do so great. Still, they are doing awesome and it might be my favorite!

    I'd love to try this one, but being a mainly indoor grower, i will need a grow light for this one. Hoping that at some point you could do a class on grow lights - how strong should they be , how far from the plants, etc. Love this party!

    Good morning and thank you for this video! A couple months ago I ordered a few cuttings from Etsy and they all rooted and are growing fast. I’m in San Diego and have mine on a covered patio. It gets a little direct morning sun, probably 20-30 minutes, and then semi-bright shade the rest of the day. It’s been hot as hell here so I was worried about them getting sunburned, however, I’m noticing that the new growth is not shaped like dolphins but more of a triangular shape...after watching your video I’m thinking it’s not getting enough direct sun for long enough so I’ll find a brighter spot for it🤞🏼I just ordered a rooted one from Mountain Crest (LOVE them!) along with several other sucs (who can buy just one, right?😉) and can’t wait to get them🤗🤗🤗

  • @BUtheBabyUnicorn

    These are so cute! That's good to know about string of pearls and also string of dolphins, I've always wanted to get some string of pearls and now I know how to not kill it if I do get some! But maybe I'll add string of dolphins higher up on my list...I too assumed that it would be more difficult to care for because it's such a novel sort of succulent, but that's great that it isn't! Maybe the thinner dolphin shapes means that it can tolerate watering a little more often than those round string of pearls? I find that the roundest/fattest-leaved succulents need water the least often, whereas succulents with thinner leaves need a little bit more regular watering during their growing season.

    I just got my very first one. It's a propagated one from my local landscaping store. And it's a very full plant I have mostly 10 in Long strings a couple that are about 18 in long and it's in a 4-in pot which is completely nice and full. I saw it and I just had to have it because it just looks terrific. Of course I'm starting my research, my care research with your channel as always! I'm just going to let it rest for a few days usually I transplant my plants right away but this one seems to be thriving right where it is. A lot of the smaller dolphins are not formed completely yet I'm assuming that's because they are too new period this is going to be so much fun watching this one grow!

    This is one that I don't have yet. I would've assumed that it would've been pickier that SOP, considering that it's harder to find. I water my SOP less than any other plant in my greenhouse (besides my butts), and I have hundreds and hundreds, so that's saying a lot! I would've watered this one even less until I got more acquainted with it. Thanks for teaching me different!!

    I love this succulent. I just got one and it's just like I thought it would be. Thanks for sharing this information. I have to watch the amount of sunlight I give growing here in Central Florida. I think I'm going to keep this guy indoors because the temps are too hot here and I hear they don't do good in high heat situations. This was great information and I appreciate it. Have a beautiful day🌸🍃

    • @StaceyHerewegrowagain
      @StaceyHerewegrowagain 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have it growing under my t5 grow light and it seems to really like that.. I keep my lights on for about 14 hrs a day, (I have my other succulents directly under it.. but this guy doesn't get the direct light, he sits off to the side getting really bright, but indirect light).. Living and growing here in Florida can be tricky with the weather we encounter.. so I grow them all in terracotta pots. I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep this inside so it doesn't struggle in our ridiculously humid, rainy 110°f weather we have right now.. Gosh, it's so much work, keeping my outdoor plants happy right now. I have to watch the amount of waterings I give because we have like 90 to 100% humidity and a lot of them take the moisture in from the air. I've noticed the string of dolphins is doing that too lately. Thanks for sharing such great info.. There is always something to learn when adding a new plant to the collection and this was the most info I've found so far. Have a beautiful day! Thank you for all your hard work and willingness to share🐞🍃
