Your statement is exaggerated and inaccurate brother.
The Archimedes principal is crucial, and i repeat, it is absolutely fundamental to the study of Fluid mechanics.
And any Physicist or Engineer would tell you that fluid mechanics is the bed rock of many areas of science and technology which directly impact all our lives.
Humanity would not be able to advance in many fields if we didn't have this principle with us.
And Archimedes came up with this principle by means of experimentation.
To say that all that Greeks did was Natural Philosophy and no experimentation is not an accurate statement.

No doubt, the Muslims like Ibn Al Haytham were crucial for the Scientific method to be fully realised.
But to say that no one before the Muslims engaged in any form of emperical sciences is inaccurate.
Aristotle for example was know to have conducted experiments in somewhat of a similar way to that of the scientific method.
Although much more primitive in its procedures.
Still, credit needs to be given where due.

@@dinoraul119 well actually yes it is , the seeking if knowledge was heavily stressed in Islamic teachings and it's actually a worship better than fighting for the sake of islam, in order to get any advancements or flourishing in science you have to get people who are actually interested in seeking knowledge and in science in the first place, and not only that but also ethical and moral use of science , that's why islam is the reason Muslims were so advanced in science without the teachings you would get a society that was the same as ones that were neighboring it

on the last point about atheism inhibiting science, you should look up creatorgate. Dr.Eyad qunaibi did an excellent summary in his arabic channel explaining the timeline of events; In short, a chinese researcher wrote a paper in a chinese journal studying the human hand, in his summary he praised the craftsmanship of the 'creator'. this one line caused the western atheists to throw a temper tantrum, blue haired twitter mob style, demand retractions, and eventually severely lower the journal's overal 'quality score'. an entire science journal got cancelled because they couldn't handle one publication where someone implied there was a creator. those atheists are guilty of the zealotry they attribute to others.

Pythagorism emerged from earlier tradition (Orphic tradition). Yet, Greeks claimed it as mere philosophy. Then philosophy being taken an end by itself transformed epistemology. In that sense the Greeks inaugurated modern world crisis by replacing wisdom (supra natural and traditional) with profane science/philosophy (purely human and purely rational)'. Renaissance is therefore the beginning of the Dark age as it also is characterized by profane science/ philosophy: 1) lacks first principles, 2) accumulation of unfounded hypothesis and, 3) insignificant details.
When Muslims scientists were in charge, they changed the game by just inserting the concept of God in to scientific and philosophical enquires. Which grounded them firmly in to first principles. As sphere of universal principles is equivalent to sphere of metaphysics, their grounding in Tawheed helped them to access essentials of reality/truth through intellectual intuition. That is why their discoveries is still in use at every sector. From Algebra to Optics through medical surgeries and medicinal plants, what they gave us is still in use. Their accuracy is directly related to their principal methodology.
On the flip side, The Modern world has lost its depth and no longer begins in certainty or truth, but aim only at applications. Hence it ends up confusing science and industry. If it is applicable at the moment, no scientist cares about the metaphysical/reality/truth. Newtonian physics though applicable, the emergence of Quantum physics falsifies it. Darwin is going to end up the same at some point , but how many wars did it instigate, and how many lives lost because of it. Who cares, Modern world keeps confusing science and application.
👉 Summarized from different chapters in 'Crisis of the Modern world' by René Guénon.

    Important point:
Hellenic culture (ancient Greek city states and Alexander's empire/successor states) had much more cultural, ethnic, philosophical etc exchange and relations with the ancestral peoples of the many peoples who belong to Islam in modern times. Alhamdulillah.
    Some evidence:
    1. The Greek script itself decends from an adaptation of the semitic Phoenicians script. Later going on to influence the Latin and Cyrillic script.
    2. When Alexander went marching he didn't go to France or Germany, he went with his armies to Anatolia, Syria, Iraq, Filistin, Egypt, Persia, Afghanistan, Central Asia(Alexandria Eschatae) and Sindh.
Some of successor states lasted for centuries. Examples: Ptolmeic Egypt, Selecusia, Greco-Bactrian Kingdom, and its successor Indo-Greek Kingdom. They were not known as Greeks in the east at this time but as Yuna(Ionians).

The WHY (purpose) question can't be answered by science, nor can it be answered by religion.
It's an impossible to answer question and therefore useless.
Religion claims it does answer it but gets no further than cry "god" and "goddidit"
However, that's doesn't explain a thing. It doesn't get us any further in understanding.
It is begging the question and as such a fallacy in itself.
Therefore, it is not a category fallacy since the "why question", as impossible to answer, clearly belongs to another category than the WHAT and HOW questions, which are possible to answer.

    • @h.k.3704

Religions, doesnt matter which ones, mostly answer the why question regardless of how true people think they are, because most of them either believe in afterlife or reincarnation etc, i.e immortal consciousness or soul. They are theories based on either ignorance or philosophy. On the other hand, science promotes nihilism. There is absolutely no reason to exist, due to the fact that we die. For every action there is a reaction but when you look at the big picture of human life, you wont get a reaction for your action but death/nothingness which is not a reaction. İf we were immortal there would then be no reason to beg these questions and religions would be fewer and lighter in importance.

    There are no real gods
There are only people that believe gods are real.
The problem with using gods as explanations, apart from the fact they explain nothing, a god can be anything you need or want it to be.
You are limited only by what you can imagine

How do you know there isn't a God? You lie, that's why the punishment in the hereafter is justified against you.
Secondly, God explains everything, original existence, intelligent universe, consciousness, objective morality etc. etc.
      Atheism? The worst of *Delusions*.

I'm guessing you don't believe in justice, human rights and morality either since there's no scientific evidence for it.

I know that gods don’t exist, the same way I know fairies and leprechauns and imps do not exist.
There is no hereafter , death is the end.
      Gods don’t explain anything,
There is a difference between an answer, and an explanation.
      Gods do not explain anything.
