What? How?? This stage is all about dealing with difficult spam sections and killing enemies quickly before they overwhelm you while LoLK stages have a lot more static or aimed attacks and focus more on routing and complex strategies during which you sometimes don't shoot at all. Honestly the only similarity I see here is the very high difficulty.

From my personal experience, Touhou 2's stage 4, HSiFS stage 4, LoLK stage 5 and SA's stage 5 have given me the most trouble over the years. As a stage 4 boss, Misumaru is by far the hardest for me and not even Marisa is as annoying.
@@bifmun4233 HSiFS 4 is hard, but not that much, LoLK 5 only has a few hard sections, SA is annoying, bit not really terrible I struggle more with UFO 5, but i would still consider this Stage 4 harder
Misumaru is easily the best part of UM. Not because she’s very hard (it’s definitely a plus), but because her patterns are a lot of fun to dodge. First and third spells are my favorite spells in the game by far and it’s really nice to have them as pretty good dodging practice patterns. For LNNN this stage is a completely nightmare, the difficulty in this game for survival really is similar to MoF in some ways with Stage 4 by far being the toughest stage.
The orbs'hitbox is abnormally huge This remind me lolk's stage 5 with the MOONS Except that there are this time not only 3, but hundred of them bouncing everywhere
something tells me zun was tuning the game up a lot more for ability card reasons , decided that was a bad idea , tuned down 5 and 6 but forgot 4 sort of like how he decided to nerf doremy in lolk would be a very zun move lol either way thanks beer god
In a way, I kind of fully understand why stage 6 is as easy as it is - it's not like ZUN wants to dissuade you from getting the Blank Card alternate endings, after all, so concentrating the difficulty in 4 and 5 makes more sense if you think about how purging your moves is an intentional thing you might want to do. Though, obviously, 4 and 5 should probably be flipped for that to have a smooth curve.
@@zturtle1630 funny thing about IN is that the first stage 4 boss encounter is _technically_ a midboss despite having the boss BGM because after that reimu/marisa runs away and then we get another short stage portion before they come back as-finally-the "boss"
I like how this stage is literally pointless to the plot and the boss goes "lol you're going the wrong way dipshit" and turns you back around
That's been the plot for a lot of stage 4s in the series.
@Qr not only that, this is where they actually mine the stuff that is used to make the cards, right?

I just noticed there are very little fairies in this stage cause the caves lacking air. That's clever.
yeah, in general ZUN puts less fairies in place devoid of life (e.g. WBaWC s4, SA)...
