He is the most patient and the smoothest tailback I've ever seen!! He was so great he made it look easy!
In his rookie year, I saw Edge stand up Junior Seau in San Diego. Seau came in on a blitz to crunch Manning, and EJ stepped in the way. After the game, Junior came to EJ and said "You earned my respect".
One of the greatest RB‘s ever and unfortunately one of the most underrated. After watching him as a kid, he was the main reason why I became a Colts Fan. I‘m glad I still got his jersey

I remember how shocked people were that he was drafted over Williams. Again the Colts chose correctly. Same as they did with manning.

Ppl forget how GREAT this guy was. Ran a subpar 40 yard dash--could catch the ball & he was A true pioneer & an absolute SUPERSTAR! 10 seasons & over 12k rushing.
NOBODY besides Edge, Ricky Williams & possibly Al Harris had dreads or gold teeth in the league & now look

Is it asking too much to have that again?the difference between an A and a B is immeasurable and we were incredibly spoiled with having Faulk and James back to back. Trust. Professional. Those are two words that come to my mind with Edge. I’m sad because I really don’t see how we will ever get anyone better.
Very close behind Peyton Manning as my all-time favorite Colts player. The days of Manning/James/Harrison were the best times for Colts fans.
The first time I saw Edgerrin play on TV was in 1998 against UCLA in a game that could have sent the Bruins to the national championship game if they won. EJ rushed for almost 300 yards And almost single-handedly carried that decent Miami team to one of the biggest upsets and worst losses in UCLA history (UCLA is my team 😕) Anyway I remember being shocked that the Colts did not take Ricky Williams in the draft and took him instead. Ricky Williams was the MAN back in the day, but it turned out to be the absolute right pick. Even though Ricky Williams had some great years rushing, EJ had an overall better career and what is the overall better player at the position.
That was the first football game I ever watched and what got me to be a miami fan. Edge became my favorite Cane that day
His laugh and demeanor make him one of the most likeable guys to ever wear an NFL uniform. Needs to be in the HOF. Over 12k rushing yards and he blew out his knee...insane.

I remember coming into the draft with Edge and Ricky being the top 2 backs in the draft alot of Teams liked Edge better even though Ricky Williams was one of the greatest players in college history had all the accolades teams said that edge was a better all around back not just running but catching out the backfield but both guys had great careers

Watch closely young fella. This whole early 2000’s (specifically 2002-2009) colts team was something special. They had one of the best defense and THE BEST offense in the league at the time. They were unstoppable and extremely underrated. We had legends like Dallas Clark, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, edge, Robert Mathis, Dwight freeney, bob sanders, Antoine bethea I could go on and on...

Bonk Caesar I don’t think so at all. James was always a supporting piece in Indy. They were always Peyton Manning’s team. When Ricky Williams went to Miami they became his team. Wannstedt gave Ricky more carries in a 2 year span than anyone in nfl history. Which is why he quit football his body was getting wrecked.
