I just saw one of your vids June and OMG it was exactly what I needed. You are so refreshingly honest and encouraging and I have no doubt your content is going to help a lot of people who are living in shame and desperate for help. Alcohol started early for me, while I was still a kid in the org but got totally out of hand after I left, long before the internet hooked all us xjws up with healthier exit/coping strategies. I just celebrated four and three years tobacco and alcohol free and am grateful for my recovery and so stoked that FINALLY it's being talked about as a matter of fact instead of just joking around about what we all knew of and often participated in. Thanks for your content! I'd love to see you and Beth collaborate somehow one of these days!! 🌟🌟🌟

Thing that makes me laugh is, they say they're there to 'help' you. They couldn't help you out of a paper bag IMHO. In my experience the only 'help' they know how to give if you're struggling with either of the issues you mentioned, if you go to them more thsn once with the same issue is to say, well we'll have to have a judicial committee now. And we all know where that leads. They have no interest in understanding _why_ you're doing it, or helping you understand, the related issues surrounding what led you to having such problems, so you can deal with it and move on because contrary to the opinion of themselves and the org, they are NOT qualified to understand the reasons why certain people may have/develop a problem with such things. It's basically 'don't do it or get caught doing it' or else. Because we said so.

Beth, I can remember Saturday morning field service with elders that reeked of alcohol. Keep in mind it's 10am. I'm certain the people answering the door could smell it as well. Looking back in retrospect, I seriously question how this behavior was acceptable.
But if a teenager in the congregation was caught smoking a cigarette, they would get raked over the coals.. . Same goes for some of the elderly sisters. Sunday morning in the kingdom hall and sister so and so sitting behind me smells like a gin mill. 12 years in the org was enough for me. I faded and never looked back.

When I was in my late teens and into my early adult life my PIMO associates (the only ones I felt safe hanging out with) and I would often stop by the liqueur store after meetings and get "happy". Sometimes we would go camping which usually became one big intoxication event. A number of us had motorcycles, and I remember a number of times riding together when we really weren't in any shape to have been on our bikes at all. Every get together we had usually involved mass quantities of alcohol. I remember a number of Sunday morning meetings being quite hungover and trying real hard to hide it. One time I went to the ministry school/service meeting still high on pot from getting high at school, which was a very regular thing for me. Of course this was all under the radar, so to speak. We were living a double life. Ahh, the good old/bad old days. Definitely coping strategies.

Poor whats his name, ( Tony Morris ), filmed at the bottle shop on a Sunday morning buying top notch booze by the trolley, something that the average JW's can not afford. Yet they tell everyone, to give, give, it is for Jehovah. Think where your money is going. These men want for nothing. Ask them for help, that doesn't exist, you are out of luck. I have nothing against people having a few drinks, it is the principal. Double standards, and exploitation. Provide for your family not for them. Let them leave it up to Jehovah, their catch phrase.

I had a “Houston we have a problem!” a few years back during a lunch break a convention. I was part of a cultural minority, so the convention would be held at the Bethel Kingdom Hall instead of the convention center located close to Bethel. So on one occasion a member of the branch committee invited me and the two other locals from our community (the rest of the congregation were all foreigners) to have lunch with him and his wife. So on the walk to their apartment in Bethel he casually mentions that they usually have a glass of wine with their lunch. But on convention days they abstain from drinking any kind of alcoholic beverage, because [even one glass of wine] clouds the brain during the afternoon.
That comment alone raised some serious red flags on my search for the truth!! And sowed some serious doubt about the integrity that Jehovah's Witnesses tout so much.

Whenever there were gatherings, there was alcohol. Some could 'hold their own' fairly well, but every so often... Somehow, gatherings seemed to keep the brothers in check from overdrinking. @@GEC416Playing the stock market is definitely a legalized form of gambling. Frankly, the way I see it is: I lose enough money buying necessities. Why would I want to risk losing even more money (if I had extra to spare in the first place) on the mere possibility of making more in the exchange once I cashed out? Besides, even if I could afford it, I generally don't have the kind of money to buy enough shares in a company to see any real return on the investment to be worth it. It simply doesn't make any sense to me. And, the goings-on with Troth Sential-enjoyable though it is to hear about because it couldn't happen to a nicer guy-only add to my misgivings about this legalized form of gambling. I am a moderate drinker, but I ask myself why do we not have scary pictures in the bottles of alcohols like we have them in cigarettes, because as much as there are occassion that a cigaratte smoking can affect others, but drinking does that at an alarming rate, drinking and driving kills innivent drivers and passengers, most people who burn a house through smoking do that when they are drunk.

And, according to the Gospel accounts although not according to the Society, he turned wine into his own blood. It just goes to show the prominence booze really are accorded in Christianity-and in Christian-adjacent groups, such as the Society.

I studied with an older jw pioneer who was married to a jw alcoholic! She almost left him after probably more than 45 yrs of marriage. She decided, after speaking with the elders, who told her bc he didn't do it a public setting (stumbling others) and it was within their own home (behind closed doors) that they wouldn't do anything except maybe chat with him. She thought about it and realized she, after being a pioneer for most her life (raised a jw) that it would make life even more difficult for her financially, esp. She didn't love him so much anymore but still cared as he had been her only love. They were married since she was about 15. She was obviously unhappy but, she lived to pioneer and was seriously OCD with cleaning and organizing. It's just sad as we watched her end up having to take care of him as he aged and became very sickly! Eventually he died but... she herself became ill with Alzheimer's and went on to have her son and his wife take care of her before she then passed. Alcohol can and does ruin lives!!

There was also a younger man in the cong who had a surgery that led to his becoming addicted to pain killers and mixing them with alcohol which he was already addicted to as well. He then decided he was of the anointed and some time later was turned in by his sister who told the elders, after having been accused of CSA, towards teen bros, that he, her own biological bro had molested her as well! Did they do anything? A slap on the back of his hand and on top of it all, still a drunk who believed he was of the anointed! 🙄

OH, She, the sister, was also just slapped on the back of her hands! She's still an alcoholic herself and though her husband left her, she's not in jail for her crimes against those teen boys! They were prob around 16/17 so thats maybe why. Idk
Sadly, 1 of those boys were mine (aged 17) as he was dating her daughter and she took advantage of him! I didn't find out until he was an adult! By then, he didn't want to do anything, so... there ya go!

I honestly didn't know, but a few whom I had association with that didn't drink! Practically everyone did!! Not that I feel drinking, within reason is bad. Just that it seemed to be a serious staple to everyday life amongst JW's...inc myself! I have since, pulled waaay back on it and only drink a little bit on occasion. I'm also within the pimo/pomo mode! I'm making my way out by drifting away! Have been at it off and on for yrs! Pretty much out now though. 🎉

If you have Holy Spirit abiding in you you will want to stop drinking yes it’s okay to do it in moderation just don’t make it a habit as for myself I must first take the log out of my eye before I can point out the splinter in someone else’s eye and I know I will stop drinking alcohol all together because I recently was studying with jws and tainted my view on things so you don’t have to take my word for it take it from the bible and am now seeing for myself what the bible tells me and it is way different from what the jws teach I thank Jesus for not letting me fall into darkness and be blinded to this so called new light as we know the bible is truth and truth never changes only lies change and we should be aware and not ignoring Satans schemes to mislead us in other words let us be of sober mind it will be beneficial for us to leave our addictions behind as we be born again into Christ through his Holy Spirit ❤🙏🏻

Oh yeah, my Uncle is heavy drinker as is the rest of his immediate family. When his sister (my mother) was still alive and we would get together, they always drank like fishes. Not to the point of being silly drunk or anything, at least not around the family. But we also went to a lot of college football games and my uncle always had his flask of hard liquor even for early day games.
Of course once my mother passed away, I haven't heard one word from any of them. To be fair, I haven't reached out to any of them either. But then again they really screwed me over when she passed away since I was in another state than they were when my mother passed and they basically picked over her stuff and took whatever they wanted before I could get home. Haven't talked to any of them since.

I'm aware of that particular policy change. To me, however, that smacks of hypocrisy on the Society's part inasmuch as tobacco has been banned within the organization since January 15, 1974. (That's "six months" after the study article announcing that ban was studied in the congregations July 15, 1973.) Even if it is for "medicinal" purposes, I wouldn't want to touch pot with a ten-foot pole. Yet, as far as I can tell, cigarettes are far less problematic despite their reputation in recent years. Granted, I'm probably showing my age when I say that. But, pot just seems to run contrary to benefitting the user, unless the intention is merely to get stoned, and I don't see how that could be a good thing. In that regard, it's the same issue I have with booze.

Something that you may have on video one of these.
First off, I am not a Jehovahs Witness. I never have been a Jehovahs Witness in my whole life and I am not a Jehovahs Witness as of recently. I just found the show Stop The Shunning today and I listened to the whole show on Jehovahs Witness And Alcohol.
I am not a Jehovahs Witness and never been a Jehovahs Witness in my whole life. I am not an alcohol drinker. I used to drink alcohol but I quit drinking alcohol quite a few years ago. So I am not a Jehovahs Witness and I no longer drink alcohol.
Now, here is something that you may talk about in a video one of these days. I never heard of anything which a Jehovahs Witness, if it was forbid by the Jehovahs Witness or not, I never once was told on this. Caffeine! I never was told that caffeine was forbidden by the Jehovahs Witness or is it okay for a Jehovahs Witness to have coffee. Not once have I been told this. You may have a video one day. If you have a video about this, call it Jehovahs Witness And Caffeine. This would be interesting to me because I am addicted to caffeine, I have a cup of coffee every day!!! I am addicted to caffeine. If you want to you can have a video called Jehovahs Witness And Caffeine. Have a great day!

You definitely are not exaggerating. Drinking is what most of them so best. My mom was a regular pioneer and she drank every day and when we got together she was the loudest and drank the most. My brother in law who was either a ministerial servant or an elder at the time got so drunk from drinking jack daniels all night at a gathering, he threw up all over the floor and my sister had to drag him to his room. I don’t fault them. It seems most of the members of JW are not happy people. They are all trying to live up to an impossible standard.

I was a wicked heathen sinner who loved booze and cocaine. Jesus instantly delivered me one night. I was the guy who was never going to stop ether. God can work some miracles and they don't seem like miracles but they are. Born again Christians who get filled with the Holy Ghost can tell you what the power of God truly is. People believe they have the Holy Spirit but they don't. You will know with out a doubt that you have the Holy Ghost when you get baptized in the name of Jesus.
That's what was taught in Acts and people must stop sinning or Jesus will throw you into the lake of fire.

Were you ever an elder or a ministerial servant? I was, and the elders were very often heavy drinkers. The rank and file weren't allowed to be, but they were. On a compassionate note, they were men who had full time jobs and families, and on top of that had the stress and pressure of putting long hours in with their congregation responsibilities -- all unpaid. Therapy and mental health care were looked down on (much more so back then than now), and so they were self-medicating.

The Bible talks about wine and people getting drunk. So no, wine had alcohol and could get you drunk. The surprising thing about Jesus’s miracle is that it was wine. Wine takes months to ferment and be of high quality, yet he did it in seconds. Making grape juice wouldn’t have been very impressive.

Are you aware that the Scriptures foretell that a prophet will be sent to God's people (Jehovah's Witnesses), and that this "messenger" will bring families separated by this unbiblical practice back together again? You can see that prophecy at Malachi 4:5,6, along with the outcome if he fails in his commission. (Mal 3:1) This final prophet "Elijah" will also restore true Christianity and other important Bible truths (Matt 17:11). Would you like to see some of his message and restoration work? He's on Quora.

Did it ever occur to you that the leaders of your organization have cherry picked scriptures to use a control mechanism? Your leaders which are just random men sit at a board meeting weekly deciding the fate of millions of followers and it’s no different than what the pope does, except you have about 9 pope like men currently. These random board members don’t want to lose followers so they purposely don’t want their sheep talking to people that have left . These men control all the information and don’t want the sheep to do research and call anything that is not on their website misinformation. When you start hearing these men really using misinformation in videos it’s a sign they hiding stuff . Currently there is an investigation into CSA in Pennsylvania that is statewide with the Jehovah’s Witnesses and they have already arrested 16 disgusting pedophiles in your organization. One of the latest videos has a guy doing a talk on misinformation named Gary B. What’s so interesting is this Gary has been in a deposition for a huge Montana CSA cover up of destroying evidence and watchtower is getting sanctioned there for it . There is also the Australian royal commission on CSA that had over a thousand cases of unreported CSA and Geoffrey Jackson had to testify . There are court documents and transcripts out there or even videos of the Australian Royal Commission on CSA case study 29 JW’s. Do some actual research and learn about the control mechanisms they use against their members.

Why most Christians on TH-cam always go against Jehovah's Witnesses, while JWs seems to keep minding their business. TH-camrs even include poor JWs in their videos without their concern..They are making everything to humiliate JWs and even say it's a cult. However JWs seem to be the humblest religion out of all Christians. I've never came across a video in TH-cam where a JW is making videos about how he challenged another religious person..

    • @EXJWAnalyzer
      @EXJWAnalyzer 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

If you think the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses is humble, then you know nothing about it. They claim to be the only "true Christians" on the planet and that everyone who's not one of them will be slaughtered by God at Armageddon. They cover up sexual abuse against children all over the world (and are being sued to death because of it), and practice shunning anyone who disagrees with their doctrines or chooses to leave the religion (that's definitely not "minding their business"). There is nothing "humble" about that. JWs don't make videos on TH-cam because they are told not to by their leaders at the Watchtower -- 9 old men who think they will rule as kings over everyone else (again, no humility there). We bring attention to the evils of Watchtower on places like TH-cam to help stop the hate crimes being committed by the Watchtower against its own members (especially children) and former members (through shunning).
