- Official video for LFO's self-titled anthem, released 26 July 1990.
“That was the one that turned us into a “real label”. We just weren’t really prepared for what would happen with that record. It was at the time when a single could come out and keep sneaking up and up; at first it was just into the top 40, next week it was in the top 20, then it was 12. We sold 130,000 12"s, which was just unbelievable, you’d get the same position now from selling 3,000.” - Steve Beckett (2007)

Legendary tune by legendary people from a legendary label and a legendary era
Pretty fucking legendary
*persons
It’s just a shame Warp ripped off LFO giving them just a few hundred quid for this single.
I concur! Sheffield/Leeds massive
I Think
Will still sound fresh in 2090.
Heard this back in 1990 on deep heat when I was 13 still one of the best tracks ever made
Oh, I was sweet 16 in that extraterrestrial beautiful era. 😢😢 I wish I was young again but. Helaas. Time moves forward not backwards.
I love how the Dutch word 'Helaas' sounds like 'Alas'
There's just something about late 80's to early 90's inhouse techno trance tracks here...It just really stands out in that time.
I remember playing this in my car and when that bass came in my windshield cracked!!!😆
Holy ****
What car was that?
@@bartekschacht Chrysler Conquest
@@loscalvao6622
Damn!!! Thats amazing. Here in Germany that car was only sold from Mitsubishi...called Mitsubishi Starion.
Nice taste for cars you have/had👍😊
@@bartekschacht we had the Starion also. Yeah I miss that car! Thanks bro👍 🙂 p.s Germany rules when it comes to cars!
Absolutely Brilliant. An All time Favourite, and what a Great Video. RIP Mark Bell.
This track is responsible for my lifelong interest in music which I still have now. A seminal moment in my life, this was different, unusual and fresh back in 1990 and still is today. Eerie and utterly beautiful.
printed and sticked on fridge. six yo daughter love that song after she listened once while showering. now she asking always: "Can we listen LFO?"
(🪦){⚰️}[🕸️]?‘除非你们有百
Been listening to this tune since I was 9yrs old. I never tire of it. Legendary.
Hearing this the first time changed my outlook on life...
L...F...O...
Such a top tune, sounds so good to this day. What a bassline.
This track, along with Tricky Disco - Tricky Disco, introduced me to a genre of music I’ve loved ever since ❤️❤️
Bleep Techno
Never knew there was an "official video" for this one. Loving it since 30 years!
they needed to do a video when it moved from the underground clubs to mtv. from memory it was something like erasure or depeche mode that helped with the video. thats mark and jez in the spray suits and masks
@@michaelsawyer Jarvis Cocker directed this.
I'm almost sure this video even made it onto Top of the Pops back in the day!
Remains one of my fave tunes...
@@paullaird2358 it did.
I always use this track to test headphone quality!
What a throwback, man I watched this so many times back in the day on the old WarpVision DVD.
Some of the first electronic music I ever heard. What an impact this had on my life!
This tune will always be in my top 10 forever. Every time i hear it it gives me so many super memories of discovering Rave and everything that went with it back then at 16 years old, take me back for one more night 🎶🔊🤪💊
Love this tune! I was 15 when me and my mates started going out. Weekend jobs on Blackpool piers got us mixing with some‘colourful’ characters. 1990 springtime. Great great memories, all that has gone now. It was so exciting and naughty, a secret for a while, then by 1992 it was gone for us anyway, we started seeing a lot of mongs we went to school with out and it just lost the mystery.., the best time and the best music xxx
Awsome track and awesome album, and still listen to this day on cd in the car. So many good memories of this track and time.
Ah god I love this track so much. Keeps you in a state of tension with the anxious bleeps, the wavey synths scouring an eerie landscape, dirty teeth gritting bass and and those sharp, what are they - snare/'high hat ? - drumbeats. Genius. xx
roland 909 drum machine.
This, and, "What is House" - are both absolute gems.
Just been listening to What is House (it led me here) and wondered if it also had a video. I can't remember.
@@summerteeeth Don’t think there ever was a video for it; would still be a great idea, esp with all the honorable (house/electronic legends) mentions in the track! I should get off my ass & fill that void ;)
We are back..
This got me into techno music back when I was a teenager. Thanks for sharing it again! One of my favourites to play on booming speakers, especially when the LOWS come in.
Great😊 i still have all LFO vinyl LP and 12" And cd version......1 of the best WARP label artists....WE❤LFO
My own personal favourite from the whole rave era, but it was tripping that drilled it into my psyche. Still sounds like the future in 2023.
Bought this legendary tune back in 1990 when I was 21. Now 52 this still sounds amazing !!!
It's nice to find a good quality 90s video
This takes me back to listening to pirate station SCR in Sheffield and the awesome summer of 1990 as a late teenager. This was an absolute banger Warp Records division street I was there.
My goodness I've never seen anybody else ever mentioning SCR radio before 🙈 I too am from Sheffield & listened to that religiously 💗

Mark Bell in our hearts! Still love his excellent album Advance!
July / August 1990... LFO - LFO, Tricky Disco - Tricky Disco, and Together - Hardcore Uproar all in the Top 20 at the same time for several weeks... Awesome days!
a true classic.. one of my faves
Have seen him playing on his last concert, Cracow, Poland. The visuals were mind blowing, a minimalist huge white circle riding angrily fast on a screen.
Absolute banger who brings back so much memories ❤
Great Electronic Sound ! Greets from Poland ;-)
Legendary tune!
I was born 4 years after release of this track and i like it!
MIND BLOWING in 1990, MIND BLOWING in 2024
Happy 30 LFO-LFO-1990. This was and still is my Signature Tune from childhood. BBC Radio 1 1990 on a Sunday!
17 when this came out. Awesome times, awesome new tunea came out every 5 minutes it seemed 😊
Barely got to listen this one earlier this year (or late last one), and although the song is slightly older than myself, it still sounds fresh AF. Love it.
This is the stuff dreams are made of! Amazing era of music! Always carry it in my soul 😃
What the heck legit just finished listening to Frequencies and see this immediately just uploaded
Mark Bell was a techno genius RIP

Kobrin? Didn't hear till yet? th-cam.com/video/oodoeoohoSA/w-d-xo.html
The sound of this has a hidden meaning to it, particularly with the barcodes and microchips being showed in the video 30 years ago. NWO all over it
@@richardwallace5226 There was in this a many others. We just didn't see it at the time.
@@DA-md6ki Neither did I. But when you hear the mysterious sound of this song, similarly to Papa uguine, future sound of London , it sounds like the powers that be are telling you that something evil was going to take place in the future. Call me hyper sensitive but i always felt that that was the case
Cette musique je la trouve en avance pour son temps. 1990 incroyable!!!
Now this is the sort of music that should play at clubs more! What an amazing tune. ❤
The Best old electronic music
A emblematic timeless classic one.
The best of the 90s
Didn't know Jarvis made the video. I knew he done Aphex Twin - On but not this one.
What a track though. Easily in my top 5 of all time and one of the tunes that kicked it all off for me.
Still sounds fresh as a daisy. Massively influential song. Beast.
Still in shock that he's gone. A true legend R.I.P.
And this video is so unique / creative
Was 15 when this touched me....shout out to Lime Wire and torrents for making a fan
Nice to see the video in HD. Can't believe the track is now 30 years old! I remember hearing it first on John Peel's show, and may well have been my introduction to the Warp Label.
ALL TIME BEST !!! amazing feelings... so lovely
Legendary track. I thought it was so futuristic as a teenager. Bought this record from Woolworths Old Swan Liverpool. 12" Vinyl.
Class.
Listen to this track on some big speakers the bass is off tbe hook ! Total 90s classic track
Super track 😎👽💥✌️❤️
Used to sit in the speakers at the local nightclub when this came on 🔊
LFOは全部好きだけど、やっぱりこれが最高傑作
90年代に僕を未来に案内してくれた恩人たちのひとり
The debut single LFO video was directed by Penny Downes {Costumes], John Foxx {Art/Graphics/Stop Motion}, Paul Plowman {Sets} & Gary Smith {Lighting}.
apparently Jarvis Cocker director credits too?!
Good lord..that bass line. It's f'n amazing.
birthing blissful nostalgia, amazing
About time. Nothing says 1990 like a University Project geting into the charts
A thousand years ahead of its time...
This tune not dropped at a rave back then was like having a shit with no bog roll.❤👊🏻🧒🏻
class of '88 😜
"Warp" was a label like Punk that was inspirational not just in his music, but also it's sensibilities! rest in peace mark🎹🎧💫😵👌😎👍🙏✋✌
LFO ❤ , The Best Rave time ......
The good old days
Emad the Pakistani student in shared house in London. I was playing LFO LFO extended on a Now cassette compilation, and Emad said he was dancing to it at a nightclub.Emad went back home to Karachi, Pakistan. Not to be confused with Manchester United player Amad.
Back to the future tune , still an absolute stormer
The very clubbing years ❤❤❤❤❤❤ we used to dance in clubs
I feel like I still judge all other “tracks” by this and ‘Voodoo Ray’. Essential. Both were played quite often, here in Detroit, in the early days.
the birth of a legend
If you are feeling reminiscent I suggest you play this absolute tune at the same time. Thank you.
Man, I've known thos song for ever and it never clicked it was LFO, despite saying it in the song a load of times, hahahaha
Got this tune back in day from Andy records,do you remember them lol, track still sounds good today,is it me that music back then was the bees knees
this track was the only way to find out if that dining room house speaker was effective in the back of my 1.1 fiesta - oh yeahhh
Maybe the best techno track ever !
Cool tune, like also the video

Ah shit, now I remember this song and artist haha. I thought this sounded familiar in Watch Dogs 2.
Love this!!!
Classic 🎉
When that baseline dropped it changed electronic dance music forever. No and I mean no one was making dance music with bass like that in it. I know I was there Lol.
