    I tried to download your free pattern by clicking on the heart pattern on top right hand corner, but says I have to buy it. As I am in Australia the rate of exchange is a bit more than I want to pay for a hobby I may not enjoy in the long run.

    I really want to learn how to do book folding well.
    The course looks great.
    The simple heart is perfect to do as 30th wedding anniversary gift for my fabulous husband BUT l can’t find the pattern to download, never mind print it off and turn one of my far too many ‘chick lit’ books on our bookshelves into a item of beauty he will treasure for years to come (well that’s my hope!)
    I’m rubbish with technology stuff, but I can’t ask my husband (who was an I.T consultant before he became my carer), because it will kind of give it all away if I ask for his help to find the pattern for something that’s meant to be a surprise for him !
    Non of my friends do book folding so please can someone tell me in REALLY simple steps to make this iPad thing do what it’s supposed to?

    I'm a little confused by what you mean by a 3cm margin? And I'm so glad I found this since I've been wanting to try this for ages 💛

    • @SVGMaria
      @SVGMaria  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's the area at the top and bottom with no marks, folds or cuts. Hope that helps. x

      Hi, I appreciate the specific directions. I have measured many books and none of them have a 3cm top margin. They are all less than that. I just went ahead and purchased books. Also, lines 49 and 98 are missing on the pattern. I filled in the info with a best guess. Am I correct? Can you retake the picture and add the pattern with the missing rows?
      Line 49 4.7 17.2 Line 98 3.9 and 12.1

    I have done a few books now and really enjoy doing it. My question is how do you keep the book tight? My ones always seems to be widespread when I complete them and others I have seen look really tight and compact. Thank you.

      Apologies for not replying sooner, I have been beavering away on an alphabet pattern that took much longer than I expected. In answer to your question, most people tie a ribbon or similar around the book to hold it in place. Hope that helps. Maria x

    Love your tutorials. I am new to book folding and would love to try it. I am stuck on how to calculate the number of pages I would need. Can you or anyone help please ☺

    Do you make patterns to order customers? I would love if you could make 2 pattern for the names "Jake" and "Dylan"? and could you tell me what type of book to buy? because they would love to have their names on Star Wars the force awakens!

      Hi, I'm really sorry. I'd love to do those for you but I can't take any custom orders at the moment. x

    Quick questions. Does the book have to be hard back? and can it have a lot more pages than needed?

    • @SVGMaria
      @SVGMaria  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +princessparris5 +princessparris5 Hi princess, If you use a paper back book it may not stand up properly and so the pattern could look distorted. Although I do sometimes use a paper back to practice on I wouldn't use one for a finished fold. If you really want to use a paper back then you could reinforce it so it stands up properly. Regarding the number of pages, you can have more it just means you'll have more pages at the beginning and end. Make sure that you work out the starting page so that the heart sits in the middle. This is covered in Lesson 5. Hope that helps, Maria x
