sigh. First time following along I get a fatal error because nothing warned me that the Project name cannot match the Application name in the New Project dialog. Something to do with a module name conflict. Confusing to a python novice, easy enough to create a new project so I will keep following along...
You can follow this tutorial with any PyCharm Professional, PyCharm Community or any other editor of your choice. With PyCharm Professional it will be faster and easier to set up a project, though. Here is why: - PyCharm Professional sets up a default Django project for you; - PyCharm Professional has a built-in support for manage.py, so you don't need to switch the context; - PyCharm Professional provides integration with databases. There was a bug (PY-46445) that has now been fixed. Since PyCharm Professional 2023.2, no needless ‘as’ is added when using the ‘Install and import’ quick-fix. youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/PY-46445/
