Looks like you had the typical BJ experience - spend a bunch of money for something that won't drive off the property lol. When I worked at the hot-rod / custom shop - the busiest time of year for me was the couple weeks after BJ. I would have a shop full of 150k+ dollar cars that needed tons of work to make safe / drivable. We would temp suspend all the full builds just cause we had so much work fixing what our customers bought at the auction lol. BJ is a great time, but man is it the trailer park of the collector car auction world.
That 1979 Ford is the same age as me anyway that truck is mint by the looks of it. That's a truck you take out on sunny weekends and garage the thing the rest of the time

It had only a 302 but the interesting thing was the posi-loc rearend from the factory. Had a Beautiful 76 Buick Skyhawk that had a 327 5 speed the body was mint.

I bet that car runs like a bag because the needle valve in the carb is stuck open and is dumping fuel into the engine. Holley carbs are good for sticking needle valves when they been sitting. got to give the carb a few taps and it should come around but that's the fun of Holley carbs
WOW Mary Jane $181K.. If you bought that for 80k in 2014 and he got it back from some crazy transfers.. He probably just pocketed 130K or more.. His work is amazing. Glad to see hi car went for $303K.. He was probably a happy man
The 79 ford ranger xlt would have definitely sold for a minimum of 50k if only it was just a short bed model. The long beds aren't worth anywhere near that much I believe you will loose a little bit of money on that long bed but who knows I mite be totally wrong & I honestly hope that I am wrong for your sake.
If you're ever at an Auto auction and you catch somebody drawing on somebody's car. If you cut their fuckin hand off you'll probably get one hell of a discount on your next purchase.

Actually...those cars are pretty neat. The Bondurant Cobra-Vics were built by Roush, and they only did a handful of them. They were caged, fuel celled, and had the powertrain out of a manual trans Cobra Mustang in them. The lower front bumper valances were from the mustang cobra as well, with functional brake ducting. Supposedly Roush charged something like 45k per car to do the conversions. I worked for an auto broker local to scottsdale and he bought several of them when Bondurant sold them, along with a ton of their other cars. They were pretty neat - people would look at you really weird when they realized you driving a manual trans Crown Vic. You could get sideways for days in those things lol. The one in the video looked pretty rough though.
