- Barely have we dusted ourselves off from our last provincial adventure with the daring folks at Isuzu Philippines Corporation, and here we are again, just two weeks after an unforgettable trip to Busuanga on board the upgraded 2016 Mu-X, facing another sweat-inducing challenge.
Bringing the thrill of the 4x4 action much closer to home this time, IPC, one of the pioneers of the unique motoring adventure concept in the Philippines, set up its 4x4 Action Playground right smack in the middle of a busy mall last April 21 to 24. This you have to see to believe. So buckle up, ladies and gentlemen, and whatever you do, just don't look down.
The weather was perfect on the sunny

afternoon of April 21 for Isuzu Philippines
Corporation to transform an entire parking
area of the Mall of Asia into its 4x4 action
playground.
Before the action started, however, IPC took
the opportunity to introduce the latest versions
of its diesel workhorses, the Crosswind AUV,
the D-Max pickup, and the Mu-X SUV.
The Mu-X, in particular, has been upgraded.
with numerous nifty add-ons that enhances
the safety and ride performances of IPC's
flagship SUV. These features include the new
turbo-powered 3-liter Diesel engine with VGS
producing even more power and torque at
greater fuel efficiencies, safety enhancements
such as the anti-lock brake system, EBD and
TCS, and Hill Start Assist, and added comfort
with 5-link rear coil suspension.
And to put all of these features to the test, no
less than IPC President Hajime Koso and SVP
Arthur Balmadrid were the first ones to try out
the new Mu-X taking on the challenges of the
4x4 Action Playground. The climax of the
challenge was the intimidating, 30-foot high
steel ramp called the Thrill Hill which took the
Isuzu vehicles up and down on 45-degree
angles. Definitely not for the faint of heart.
But such was the confidence of Koso and.
Balmadrid with the Mu-X that they walked
off the course smiling, like nothing happened.
Koso expressed his utmost confidence in the
staging of the 4x4 Action Playground, and the
Isuzu vehicles that would be taking on these
obstacles with would-be buyers and the various
dealers in tow.
IPC Marketing Head Joseph Bautista, for his
part, explained that the added features of the
2016 D-Max, Crosswind and Mu-X puts them
on par with, if not a level above, its competitors
This 4-day event, the latest from the daring
folks from IPC, just goes to show that Isuzu
puts back the thrill in driving, in any setting.
