I took your advice on Sunday & watched several of your videos that were targeted towards resume. I revamped my resume and I made it very professional and poise *key items* and I then sent off my resume to jobs that will benefit me and Linda I have to tell you the minute I sent those out on Sunday afternoon & on Monday early morning I received so many phone calls and emails! If it wasn't for her I would literally be sticking to my old resume wondering why I never received a call back. I have even told my good friend to watch your videos so he may have progress in his work search. THANK YOU AGAIN! 💛💛👏👏
Linda's videos often were cited and played by not only one teacher at job search class or lecture in my colleges. Linda is beautiful and great! I got a lot form your videos. Thank you very much!!!
I took Linda's advice and tips from her Top Notch resume live video that she broadcast and revamped my new resume to the structure that she suggested and changed the wording of my job duties and added more achievements. I have to tell you, I am receiving emails back from recruiters on the job I have applied at. Thank you so much Linda!!!
The best resume tutorial EVER! I'm reviewing and revising my resume as I play your video on TV. Great job, Linda. So many intelligent advice I got and I'm sure you are at least a decade younger than me. I regret not having come across a mentor like you in my younger years when I was beginning my career. But, I am thankful I found your channel. I have never been this compelled to leave a youtube video comment. :) Looking forward to more coaching material from you. More power!
I wish I've found your channel sooner before I sent my resume to some companies several days ago! After watching your videos I suddenly realize what to work on with my job application omg you're the best tysm
Thank you, Linda, I'm grateful for the insights you provide. As you give us recommendations on how to build a resume, I'm going to also give you feedback on how I felt watching your webinar. I think your speech is clear, on the point, efficient. The aspects to develop are: Authenticity, speaking from the heart, empowering people rather than one's self ( ex: "You wanna do" than "you really need to..", "You can do" rather than "you can't do", etc), non-aggressive communication, encouragement replacing criticism, positive words, empowering people rather than belittling them. Showing them THEY know, not that "I know best." That's how it felt to me. But I do listen to people with who I do not vibrate. Cause some of them might know something which I don't. So, once again, thank you for having taken the time to deliver this valuable information for free.
UGH, where was this video when I was a terrified new grad pooped out into the world? I absolutely struggled with writing the bullet points to my experience/projects. I was definitely too general and dry about what I did. This was so well explained and helped tremendously. Now I'm a human who does resume reviewing, and I'll be sure to save this to send to people as they ask about how to strengthen resume bullets. Well done, like always Linda!!
Hi Linda. I am applying a nursery teaching. According to your explanations I belong to group C. Wish this could be live for me. Thanks for the tips and may God bless you
Gosh!! I needed this...I've been applying to many agencies, but I'm not even convince with my own resume, no wonder nobody hires me. No experience problems..
Just from the perspective of how you explain things, I already see the top notch course as totally worth the price. I learned so much from this little video than I knew before. Thanks for helping out
Good morning Linda!, your seminars are very informative. I have one request, if you don't mind. Can you present on how to avoid over qualification mishaps when applying for different jobs other than what you went to school for?
You have to tailor your resume when you're overqualified. Many of my college students are immigrants who are over-qualified for jobs they apply for. I tell them to remove some of the qualifications THEN after they get some work experience, look for ANOTHER job. Until then, tailor the resume IF you want to get the job. Good luck!
The Top-Notch sample is the exact of my actual profile. I used to think that my job is too boring to state in the resume, I never imagine that can be describe in that way. Thank you Linda! I really want to have a career orientation for my future life. Hope to have this kind of course, like how to find my interest, how to find the appropriate job.
I think everything you mention here are facts I learned from and you help me to get to know what I am looking for and the things I need to remember are important right here to reach all the things I am very interested
Linda, as always, you shine at what you do. I have learned a lot from you and wished to be as articulated as you are. Ted Talks needs you :-) I look forward to more awesome videos because you are definitely making a difference. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for this video. Appreciate the time you took to help format a top-notch resume. My financial status will not allow me to take the Top notch course but will incorporate what I learned from this video to revamp my resume to receive more calls. Your videos has taught me a lot. So glad I happen to find your youtube channel. I will also join the facebook page. You are the best.
I am definitely group C. I have revamped my resume so many times and still nothing! But, I sign up for Top Notch and I am going to change things around!! I have too!!! Thank you Linda!! You're a great coach, truly!
Awesome video, Linda. I am learning a lot and after I'm done with a few more videos from you, i am sure i can polish my CV appropriately and get some call backs. 2018 has got to be different. Thanks for the videos, Linda.
Can you do a video for young professions still trying to complete their undergrad? I'm currently a junior in college, and I've taken a break from working the entire autumn to spring year, so I have a pretty big gap in my work life, and not sure how i can stand out to employers. This video was extremely helpful but i'm curious as to how aplicable these tools are for young college professionals. I would love, love, love if you could give us college students some pointers on creating an effective resume to land not only jobs but maybe even internships!!
I am applying for a GIS Analyst position. I have been out of working fulltime for about 3 years, but I was working part-time while attending school and dealing with sudden lost of my mother.
Hello Linda, I am undergraduate and I wanted to apply this month, can you please make a video about making a resume for undergraduate or newly graduates with less working experience
I am applying to admission Coordinator at a college have a Master degree in addiction counseling and has been a counselor for over 7 years. Resume needs to be perfect for this position.
hi Linda, my question is what if i don't have any kind of achievements? I worked in the same position the whole 7 years like a regular employee? how can i make myself compelling during job search and during job interview? and is it okay to copy some of the duties and responsibilities from my previous employer? I'm not sure if Linda could read this comment. however, i do hope that other viewers could help me find the answer for this query. thanks!
Hey Linda!! This was very helpful, Can you do a video for behavioral questions regarding competencies. Like how you provided the formula's or sample answer on answering weakness.
Hi Raynier, thank you for this piece. Is it necessary to include referees to a resume when you're working at keeping it as short as possible (maintain at most 2 pages)?
Hi Linda! I have a Question: If I have my Top Notch resume completed for a "X" position, then I applied that into my LinkedIn profile too, what do I do with my profile when I want to apply for a different "B" position? Let's say, I created a resume for the Stock specialist position and reflected it in my LinkedIn too. But also I am interested in Marketing specialist position. In that case, yes I can create another Top Notch resume tailored to that role/job, what about the LinkedIn profile? Can't I have two right?
Hi I’ve completed over 3 years of schooling towards my bachelors degree, but didn’t end up finishing. What would you recommend putting down under education on my resume?
I would still utilize a lot of the principles here but your work history will look understandably pretty short (that’s not a bad thing as it’s your first job)
About the achievements section there's something I'm thinking to write that I would like some feedback about if should put it or not and how should I put it. In my university there's a course in which there was to projects that counted for the course's grades, in the first one I chose a project that was considered hard because used some knowledge that were not yet given to us, I have made this choose because it would help in the second project. Because of its difficulty the project should be done in a group of four people, but I made it alone. I think it's an achievement because I could do alone and have a good result in a project that was considered hard and should be done by four people, but at the same time I think it also shows a weakness in my social skills.
Hi Linda, I truly love your videos on resume, i'd say a big thanks. I am a graduate of geology and I have only worked as a personal assistant to a retiree and a supervisor. I truly desire to work as a graduate geologist but it is so difficult to write a resume and a cover letter. Kindly make a video on a situation like this and also a review on cover letter. Thank you very much.
Hi Linda! For "achievements", can I add something that can be considered as a group achievement? I was a part of this certain team supporting clients, and our group won few awards. Can you confirm if that would be a good idea?
Hey Linda, I am currently in enrolled back in college, getting my Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration. I really don't have any experience in what I'm going to school for. I do not have that much experience. What should I do?

I had to "done well" interviews (i thought it was well, because I was congratulated after the interview &said I passed it.was told to keep my lines open for their call to come back&start) with 2 diff.companies. yet 5days come&become weeks I haven't receive any!I made a follow up was told to wait for further advice. Can you make a video for job seeking vets? It would be great to get the perspective of a civilian in HR. This would be a great group D. I honestly don't know why it's so hard for vets to find jobs when they get out. There's got to be something with the training that HR personnel receive in the civilian world that doesn't adequately train them to recognize the skill set that veterans bring to the table. I say this because the brightest, most competent and capable people I've ever worked with were either when I was still serving or were fellow vets at my civilian employments. I swear, ever since I've been out, I've received more "I don't know" answers to work related questions than I received during my entire career when I was serving. Also, I've seen a lot of civilians panic or freak out over the smallest things at work while it's the vets who remain calm and take charge while handling the situation. But I guess that's what happens when most jobs in the civilian world are obtained through networking.
hi Linda! thanks for all these video tips! can you help on how to sell my resume in Changing my job I am a Chef and I want to apply as Event planner in a company. but more on my experience, I spent years being a Chef instead of being in the front of the house.
Hi Linda, It may also be good to add a summary which highlights and addresses the qualities, qualifications, achievements, skills like technical, managerial and communication plus being results oriented which gears to the requirements of the position advertised.... :) :) Cheers Michael

Hi Linda
Would it be wise to put your photo in the resume?
Wouldn’t recommend it!
101 Mentor thank you. Is there any reason for that?
Maverick yes some employers don’t want to be put at risk for discrimination so would rather not see a picture (although with LinkedIn now it kind of contradicts this). Other arguments are more perception and behavioural - if one was not attractive, that could subliminally put thoughts or perception that the person is not fit. It’s not PC at all and for many, that’s not intentional. For the candidates, I recommend no picture as to not risk anything
