Salam Malihe, this is called ATTAN, which is mainly performed by Afghan Pashtuns and also it is considered the national dance of Afghanistan. It is the dance of honor and dignity which not only performed by oldsters and youngsters but by women as well. It is one of the most ancient dances in the world. The mentioned dance was even performed during the era of king Yama (Jamshid) in Dari. The history of this dance dates back to the age of Zoroastrinsm. Today, it is often performed in places like weddings but its origins lie in battles and on a birth of a son, throughout history many tribes of the Pashtuns have often being in conflict with each other and so, before battle many of these tribes would perform this dance to prepare themselves for war. Yet, many of the tribes still perform it with swords, for instance I can name the tribes of, Sulaimankhil and Khattak. Furthermore, the Pashtuns have mentioned as old Aryan tribe in the book of Rigveda as they participate in the ancient battle of TEN Kings which dates back to 1500BC/3500.
