I can understand young players or players during their contract/ free agency years maybe not wanting to come cuz they don’t want to risk injury and what not but established players who already have made a lot of money from nba and or are Gona continue to make a lot of money even if they do get inured (because they are so good and aren’t that old yet) should go to the olympics unless specific reasons like (in hardens case this year (hamstring) - they have a current injury)

The American team has historically (over the past 30 years) been the NBAs top talent, so when people write articles now it will say the Americans lost and then you look at the American basketball league and see what it is and then you see its the NBA, so America losing means the NBA lost as well.

So If KD tried to go for 50. Teams can literally collapse on him with out giving up anything at the rim(someone can stand there the entire 24 seconds) and smaller distance from 3 so can close out a lot faster.
All these things come in to play.

Many quality players do not participate in Team USA. I think this includes the coach's mistakes in choosing players. and it takes a mix between young and old players to be better. Players like zach lavine, Karl Antoni Towns, T. Young, should be part of the team. need more careful selection in selecting players.
