Yup, gone are the days of filling out a binder of every card in a set. What's the point when there's 4 damn variants for each card plus foil treatments. It's really just fomo at this point.
And games are so explosive due to how super consistent decks are now and u cant do super jank stuff in commander without getting shit stomped by everyone becuz of power creep. Idk how ppl still like this mid game and Im considering quiting.
Something like bloomburrow was exciting for players and made them want to play, whether they like animals or if they just like the more natural fantasy setting. The futuristic racing cars stuff just isn’t exciting to players. But they did make cards powerful which will make players want to buy anyway.
There’s something like 126 different box topper cards and each box is going to only have one and a land card. These box topper cards are going to super hard to collect.
Plus a couple of them will have a special guest in first place treatment. So it's not even "every 127 box toppers". I do wonder, whether mythics have the same rarity as rares or if the mythic-to-rare ratio is going to be similar to regular boosters. Since in regular boosters, any given mythic is about twice as rare as an actual rare, if the same holds true for box toppers, you might be looking at any given mythic being about one in 200 box toppers or even more. But even then: You could pull the lamest rare as your first place card in a box topper and sure it's going to suck a bit but it feels like even the worst ones are just going to be so expensive eventually. Never mind actually hitting something relevant.
I think the topper is actually a common and a random rare, Mythic, or uncommon. Not much better, but it shows collectibilitu in mtg product is rotting it's self for sales.
Worst set in at least a decade or more. Trash. Vehicles.. let's take one of the most avoided mechanics and build a set. The fans will hate it. Dollar Dollar bills y'all.

"This set is under printed and will be collectible" Yo, you've been saying this about the last 10 sets. This whole idea that Wizards wants to make products scarce and jack up secondary market prices for a 'bull market' is illogical. Wizards isn't trying to make all you finance bros money, Wizards is trying to to make itself money. Wizards makes money by selling cards, not by artificially withholding cards. The only time Wizards holds back production is to avoid a massive overprint where the retail price on the products dip below their target prices. As soon as Wizards sees an opportunity to print more cards to sell, they would (the most recent LCI and BLB and DSK commander set reprints). Remember when you all said they wouldn't reprint these products? Yeah, they did. Because they can sell them.
It's whatever, whales gonna be whales, and commander players don't know don't care, new set next month anyways, you're only gonna lose competitive and casual players. I'm sure the Collector boxes will sell out every time no matter what
The set is absolutely trash from a storytelling and flavor stand point, and that's giving people feel bads. People will correlate those bad feelings, from the set's aesthetics, with the idea that the set will be bad, but it will no doubt be really powerful, and will have big chase cards. Because people don't like the set, not much will be opened which means the singles will be expensive, which will make the boxes worth, thats literally why undercity sewers is so expensive from karlov manor. The initial rejection will result in that these boxes WILL have value, probably.
The garish yellow-bordered cards are achingly bad. What an ugly mess. I've no idea about the card mechanics, but the set seems like a Frankenstein's monster of previous sets shoe-horned into a messy dysphoric stew of chaotic, incohesive ideas whose theme seems largely antithetical to the origins of Magic that once made the game great. If we can't get 80's-90's high fantasy anymore, I much prefer grimdark fantasy to this oddly futuristic style art and design that simply smacks of listlessness spawned from some abused orphan's internet-addled mind. Much of this was found in Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty, but for some odd reason, that set sort of worked. Maybe I'm wrong about this set, but the giant, hamfistedly sewn quilt-work of concepts in this is repulsive and inauthentic.

Is there a pool on when they go psycho on the 'citizen' creature type? Who gets to be the Secret Lair rerelease of Saskia? How about a pool on when Dale Earnhardt Jr is a citizen speed pilot?
Once again I sound the alarm. The Mouse wants your cardboard and the sky IS falling. You can only keep Donny Jhepp, Dane the Jock Rohnson, the Boondock Saint and Gump out our cardboard forrests so long. Watch him nibble. Dane the Jock is in the race car movies, is it too late? Does he bring Titan entertainment with him as well as the Mouse? Does he being Oprah? Maybe she's in this new kamagawa set giving away cars?
Revolution has to start somewhere folks. Folks!
