I often wonder how much the players were aware of the teams from the other continents. Information is blocked on everything in Nth Korea and the players were probably not even aware of their own ranking.

But while there are significant embargoes on Nth Korea, the elite still get significant luxuries via China that their people can only dream of. Further, for the most part the population is malnourished and limited to state sponsored TV and Internet. China is probably the main concern should Nth Korea start fighting again, because the Nth on its own has no hope of actually winning a war but will kill a lot of people in its opening salvo. 90% of its army are on the border including its artillery which has the range of Seoul. The South isn't interested in the North because of the economic prosperity, the North is just an irritent.

Eventually he failed his career as a foot player in Kiresn league too. His football skill is equal to just player of high school
