It's cruel, to be caught by such a feeling. Inescapably cruel, to be given such a beautiful feeling that can destroy you completely if you let it. It's a feeling no one else can share , a feeling no one can ever understand no matter if they've been through something similar or not, it's, it's own, unique suffering for each of us who have been afflicted by unrequited love. The Buddha said something along the lines that "to live is to suffer". I am not sure at this point in my life if it is better to have it all but live with the fear of losing it all or to have no one and nothing of my own like my life is now and have nothing to really lose of my own. When I first saw her and realized the girl of my dreams was a real person I was about 27 years old, too old to let a lust for a woman pretend to be love and too young to understand what love is. When I saw her, I felt initially that there was no chance she would lower herself my level she was a 10/10 in every guys summation, every one that I met that knew her at, just gorgeous, elegant, and flawed but beautifully so. Even though she was so far out of my league, my confidence proved to be uncanny , even I can't believe my own confidence, I actually stiffened up and gave it a try, she actually showed me a hint of interest for a few months, I made her laugh, I had decent conversation however brief, I made her mother laugh...but suddenly she completely went cold, and started ignoring me. I'm 31 now, armed with stoic logic from reading and applying the stoic lessons of Aurelius, Seneca, and Epictetus, I try to let let logic rule my life before emotion and have countless times told myself I am a FOOL for still carrying these feelings for this girl who has not really talked to me outside of platonic greetings and brief interactions among groups of friends in 4 years. I leave her alone, she deserves to not be bothered by someone who she clearly is making an effort to keep away as to not let close to her. However , when she interacts with me I make her laugh, I make her smile but she wants nothing more from me. Her last boyfriend cheated on her and broke her heart, a "pretty boy" type who had plenty of women. Now she got rebounded by another "pretty boy" type, I do not think she will get far with him, but that may just be my jealousy clouding my judgment but I was right about the last one. Anyways, despite me improving myself, dating other women, doing my best to cure myself of this feeling I have for her, I like you will always love this woman who has nothing but a polite glance every so often for me. When I first saw her and realized the girl of my dreams was a real person I was about 27 years old, too old to let a lust for a woman pretend to be love and too young to understand what love is. When I saw her, I felt initially that there was no chance she would lower herself my level she was a 10/10 in every guys summation, every one that I met that knew her at, just gorgeous, elegant, and flawed but beautifully so. Even though she was so far out of my league, my confidence proved to be uncanny , even I can't believe my own confidence, I actually stiffened up and gave it a try, she actually showed me a hint of interest for a few months, I made her laugh, I had decent conversation however brief, I made her mother laugh...but suddenly she completely went cold, and started ignoring me. By any measure, looks wise, and tax bracket wise she is a multitude of levels above me in all manners besides sense of humor (developed by deep dark depression) and resourcefulness. Alas, she likes very "pretty" men, men that look like movie stars (seriously lol), so cliché a perfect 10 of a woman who likes "pretty" men lol I'm masculine in all features tall, solid not overweight but purely masculine in my features.
I'm 31 now, armed with stoic logic from reading and applying the stoic lessons of Aurelius, Seneca, and Epictetus, I try to let let logic rule my life before emotion and have countless times told myself I am a FOOL for still carrying these feelings for this girl who has not really talked to me outside of platonic greetings and brief interactions among groups of friends in 4 years. I leave her alone, she deserves to not be bothered by someone who she clearly is making an effort to keep away as to not let close to her. However , when she interacts with me I make her laugh, I make her smile but she wants nothing more from me. Her last boyfriend cheated on her and broke her heart, a "pretty boy" type who had plenty of women. Now she got rebounded by another "pretty boy" type, I do not think she will get far with him, but that may just be my jealousy clouding my judgment but I was right about the last one. Anyways, despite me improving myself, dating other women, doing my best to cure myself of this feeling I have for her, I like you will always love this woman who has nothing but a polite glance every so often for me. Cruel, twisted, perverse, exhausting , my love for this girl drives me crazy. I've learned to live with a pit in my stomach, a hole in my soul. I hope you are faring much better than I am brother, I understand the feeling.
