P.S. at 13:03 pause the video lol,the decal even says each outlet 2500 watts max, thats why you toasted your old inverter.

Mistake #1 is you shouldnt have the coffe machine plugged into the inverter outlet, needs to be hard wired into those 3 set screws so you can get the full 5000 watts .Each outlet dosent handle 5000 watts, thats why they provide the terminals. You could get a 3 into 1 plug and use all the power but a waste of outlets.Cut the end off your cord and expose 3 wires, positive, negative and ground and go directly to the block.

I Have been running the machine hardwired, changed it some months ago. Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠

My guess is you've blown the mosfets, when their is a big bang that's usually a fet exploding from over current and that's always accompanied by a bad electrical burning smell.
The fuses blew after the fet blew to short. Over temp will lower the max power rating so ensure ventilation. With your rs inverter you can buy all the fets on-line from a good Taiwanese or American supplier not Chinese supplier because their components though cheap aren't always up to standard .
The other comments were right about hard wireing an extension with a 15A rated socket because the inverter will work for a while but will get hot, so one day when your really busy will probably start to melt resulting in eithor a short and another blown inverter or worse, a fire.... could be good publicity i guess😂😅.
With the rs inverter you should be able to see the fet that exploded when you remove them, their is a chance there not all blown only half or maybe even only 1 as they often fail to short so your fuses may have protected the others.
Test them all before reusing them though or you may just fry your new ones.
    Good luck

My guess on the blown fuses is cascading. One set blows, more power on the rest another set blows and so on. That is a potential problem with a bunch of parallel fuses. One larger fuse would avoid that problem.

you are using that for resistance heating in the coffee machine so the modified should be fine but I would use only a pure sine wave inverter for things like your tablet, phone charger, refrigeration motors, etc. I have like the giandel products myself

Very informative. 4.5hours doesn’t seem long though. What does the van do for power once the batteries are depleted as I assume the coffee van serves for more than 4 hours a day?

Pure sine wave would likely be a better choice in the long run, but otherwise look into AC Infinity cabinet vent setup. Having good airflow would be a great benefit

I like the video. My honest view for that much money I would have gotten a pure sine wave inverter mind you I suspect you could have gotten a pure sine inverter for around the same price range Note you would have gotten a longer run time and your equipments would have run much cooler. This brings me to my next question is the wires from the batteries fuse? Respect man nice video.

No fuse link to the inverter just hard wired old skool, The pure sine wave was twice as much for the power I needed this works a treat, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Perhaps you skipped reading the page in the manual, or maybe you didn't get a manual, but you are not supposed to connect a 3.5Kw device to any of the 3 plugs provided as they are rated at 13Amp and/or 2500 watts max (page 7 in the manual). For loads bigger than 2.5Kw (like in your case) you were supposed to use the direct AC terminal, (the one above the LCD) designed to give you the full capacity of the inverter (5Kw).
I got the feeling that that is the same reason why you killed the other inverter... Giandel are good inverter for their money but their ratings (like most Chinese products) are overrated.. Nonetheless, if you open the new unit and look inside you should see that the cable going to the strip terminal are thicker than the ones going to the three separate outlet. That;'s why in the manual, they specifically recommend using the terminal for higher loads like in your case...
As others have mentioned, when the unit reach the 50°, because of the mounting location you will need a much better airflow as hot air rise and it has no way to escape in your cabinet..
    Good luck..

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thanks for the great information, We only use the inverter on low power when on the batteries, 2500w, so the connector plug is ok, really pleased with the giandel works like a dream 👍🏻👍🏻🛠

@@aaanton11 Not sure I follow, as you mentioned that the coffee machine is 3.5kw in the video. If you are still interested in fixing the old inverter, try to replace all the mosfet before putting in new fuses.. If you don't use more than 2.5kw out of the single outlet, as you have claimed now, the high temperature in that cabinet is the other possible explanation of why they failed in the first place.. Been using Giandel inverter for a few years now and beside the unrealistic power surge claim they have, they are good value for money..
PS. I would still use the direct terminal to operate your Giandel inverter as even 2.5kw is a lot for a single power outlet, but hey, it is your money... 👍🏻

Anything over 1.5k should be hard wired to the connectors not drawn through the plug sockets

@@il-mozzo7672 based on your experience with giandel, do they work well with high powered inductors like motor etc. I have something I want to power with rating of 3kw at 15a. I am assuming it's surge is much more at start up considering it is an inductor. Would the giandel meet this requirement and if not can you direct me to a decent long duration run time inverter?

"I've only got 2 fuses in there" and here is your fist mistake.
you most likely had a cascade failure of the transistors fused to "open" dead short. this the fuses blowing.
once a single transistor goes, it raises the stress on all the rest above their tolerances and they cascade blow.
if that's all it is, you could take a shot at replacing all the capacitors with good quality ones, but the likelihood of other damage is pretty high with a dead short open state.
time wise for a busies, it's just cheaper to buy a new one.
and, a good one (expensive) well over rated for your need unit is the best way to go.
    (less stress on the transistors)
