    Hey. I absolutely love your vidoes. One of my fav stories of parent wanting to low ball me. I had a mom come in for an interview. She gave me the story of being a single mom which is always a red flag for me. I too have been a single mom but I didnt use it as a "whoa as me" excuse. So I pulled out my rate sheet which I show for everyone. I had to ealk away for about 2 minutes. I came back, she took a red marker from her purse and marked out my prices and wrote in what she felt like she wanted to pay. Well, I cut that interview short. When I started 17 yeats ago, I called around to other daycares. Not many had marketing tools past the yellow pages. I set my price as $70 fuul time. 3 months in I changed it to $100. There were so many things I hadn't considered. So now, I work the system backwards. I look at all my expenses including the things of the lifestyle I want to have. I then figured out how much yo charge and who could afford that price. Abt 8 - 10% of the families income. So i studied the demographics of those who could afford it. I learned what their values ate, where they work, where they shop and what they look for in a childcare program. I wish I would have done this 17 yrs ago. I'm now working on reinventinh myself so I can generate the idea income I need to feel good and love what I do.

    Hi! I love it. Thanks for the info. Do you think it’s necessary to have a website?

    • @PlayTimeChildCareTraining
      @PlayTimeChildCareTraining  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes ma’am especially for home child care. It shows you’re serious and professional. Some people can make their business grow without it however that’s my opinion and experience.

      Leena manojav hi Lena. I’m sorry I had to remove the link because the organization that does the training has now placed a cost for their trainings. I can still give you the link if you want to still check them out. Would you like them?

    I have been in LA area since and I started a lot lower then I am now ..I just moved to a very large house (leasing) w a gorgeous huge backyard and the area I'm in now is a higher price range and I have raised to fit in the area
    And I have went to a few other in home daycares in my area and I have better services then some and some have higher prices so I'm a little above mid range
    Please have new daycares check out what everyone is offering and their prices I have a super nice daycare lady about 5 mins from me but she doesn't have a food program and only uses electronics to teach the kids so I priced higher then here ...she has been in the biz for over 20 yrs ....

    Girl, the new attendee I have her mom and dad have given me a run for my money. I was suppose to have her set hours and I agreed upon a lower rate because she was more of a half day. They haven’t been picked her up for 3-4 hours later than scheduled. I told her I had to raise the rate. She no showed two days and then just showed up today with no warning or heads up

      Wow! Yes you have to nip that in the butt. As home child care providers we want to help people so much however we have to remember we do have a business and we have to be consistent with our policies. Thank you for having a kind heart. Now set your rates the way you want and parents can conform or comply with it or you’ll have to tell them unfortunately you won’t be able o meet their needs. I’m so proud of you! Thank you for sharing 🌺

    So what’s a good price? 3 days a week, 8 hours? What about 5 days, 8 hours?

    Do we get a valid Certificate for the free class so we can add it up to experience?

    • @PlayTimeChildCareTraining
      @PlayTimeChildCareTraining  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Which free class? If you’re speaking of the state class yes you will receive a certificate. With all classes you should receive certificates because it is suppose to go toward your annual training.

    Are you willing to share your policies and contract? NOT what you charge. But, just how it is wrote up. So many people talk about charging if the child is there or not, vacation etc. How do you write that up and get parents to follow it? If you have a contract and they drop out after a couple of months, do you still charge until the end of the contract. ( In my area I have heard of providers having yearly contracts. If a parent pulls them within the year they still pay till the end of the contract). Not sure how that works? I am just starting out and writing the contract/policy I am not sure about

      Greetings. Yes at the end of March I’m uploading my policy handbook. Right now if you look at the playlist titled policy handbook you will see videos addressing a lot of what you have just asked. I have videos scheduled all the way until the end of March dedicated to just the policy handbook and what I placed in my policy handbook. I’ll add the link for the play list. Welcome and please add your input also. ❤️

    What age group do you recommend to start out in for a child care home daycare . I’m located in Texas . I will start by my self so I was thinking starting out at 18 months ?? Because of the ratio with infants . What are your thoughts

    • @PlayTimeChildCareTraining
      @PlayTimeChildCareTraining  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly that’s your choice but if u want all 6 kids then yes 18 month up but infants are more needing care
