It would be amazing to see one of these hives. I worked for a commercial beekeeper for a few months, and while I love the bees I felt like there must be a better way, especially if I'm not doing it in a rush. Thank you for these videos!
You’re more than welcome. This is definitely the better way. Hands off approach and spending more time growing food for yourself and family is more satisfying, natural and rewarding.
Most of the entrances to log hives look just like this. You can encourage it by choosing a log with a wider diameter entrance and then reduce it with a branch leaving. 10 to 25mm gap around the curve.
I would love to try this with the Russian Honey bee, put a russian nuc in a hollow log & see what happens, might try that this year, just have too figure out what's the best size log.
Unfortunately you’re right. I’ve been having a lot of success with people who call me about wanting to get into beekeeping. I steer them in the direct of having 1 or 2 log hives, having a langstroth to satisfy their honey lust and focus more on developing flora. I’m also having success with the third and fourth year beekeepers who want to give up.

Love the close up view.

Are you planning on putting the nuc box in the log?
So, unsurprisingly, they do best if you just let them bee...😜
Hello again and yes you’re right. Let them bee
Some people will never get it.
