From Moon Studios, the award-winning developers of Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps comes No Rest for the Wicked, a visceral, precision Action RPG set to reinvent the genre.
The year is 841 - King Harol is dead. As word of his death echoes throughout the kingdom, the crown passes to his arrogant, yet untested son Magnus.
Even worse, the Pestilence, an unholy plague not seen for a thousand years, has returned. It sweeps across the land, corrupting everything and everyone it touches. Madrigal Seline, a ruthlessly ambitious figure in the church, sees the Pestilence as a chance to prove herself in the eyes of her god.
These forces converge on the backwater Isola Sacra, where rebel groups and the provincial government fight for control amid the isle’s crumbling ruins.
You are a Cerim - a member of a group of mystical holy warriors imbued with remarkable powers and sworn to defeat the Pestilence at any cost. But the task will prove increasingly challenging as you become entangled in the people’s plight and the vast political struggle of this downtrodden land. Chaos will pull you in every direction as you seek to cleanse the land of wickedness and shape the kingdom’s fate.
Brutal, Precision-Based Combat: Hone combat skills with a system that challenges you to be deliberate and strategic. Battle against gruesome creatures, enemy soldiers, and punishing bosses in tense, visceral combat. Feel the weight and speed of each weapon through their own move sets. Enchant armaments with runes, craft rare armor, and create bespoke character builds that fit your playstyle.
An Epic, Human Saga: Discover a mature, dark narrative on the harsh shores of Isola Sacra. Cunning rulers and ferocious rebels vie for the throne - all while an ancient plague sweeps across the land, turning its inhabitants into monstrous versions of themselves.
A Hand-Crafted World: Explore a painting come to life - take in the striking painterly world, meticulously built with an incredible attention to detail in a unique, ageless art style. Beauty radiates in every frame, from the dappled sunlight of the Lowland Meadows to the viscera-smeared, twisted shadows of the Nameless Pass. Each new location is home to its own people, problems, hidden treasures, and secrets to unearth.
A Moment’s Respite: Take respite in the town of Sacrament - purchase property and decorate it to make it your own. Fish on the shores, till and harvest the land for ingredients to create meals that replenish health and boost stats. Acquaint yourself with the diverse array of vendors and townsfolk and restore Sacrament to its former glory.
Online Multiplayer: Share your world and progress with up to three friends by your side in the campaign’s online co-op mode. Every quest, boss, and square foot of Isola Sacra is theirs to share with you…or they can simply venture off and do as they please.

Quite a few folks seem confused on why I'm being so critical. I very much enjoyed the game, but the entire point of early access is to improve. If all you're going to do is glaze it in its current state that doesn't help the devs evolve the product into a better and more polished form. The entire point of early access impressions is to point out issues the game currently has in hopes that it becomes better.

I think it says a lot about the game that Cowboy's biggest issues are with the economy. In terms of moment to moment gameplay, level design, etc. the game is SUPER solid in my experience. The hotfixes to improve performance have been really effective and it is much smoother now. Tweaking economy values, drop rates and upgrade tables being the glaring problem must feel like a good problem to have as a developer.

There are actually some very good Runes in the game - enough that I would actually recommend Common / White rarity weapons just so that you can customize all 4 Rune slots.
Blink is the no. 1 skill because it’s a cheap 25 cost teleport that also completely breaks enemy tracking if cast during an attack. This opens up easy damage windows and backstabs, especially for enemies with long attacks. It is sold in the Tier 3 mage shop.
You’ll also want Ice Throw or any other variant of Throw (Ice just has the best debuff) - 50 cost boomerang that does way too much stagger, damage, and debuff app for its range and cost.
Everyone already knows about the heal Runes, but also don’t sleep on Damage Surge - 30% damage multiplier that lasts quite a while.
You can of course swap weapons for heals and buffs, but IMO having constant access to both Throw and Blink justifies skipping Enchants on your main weapon.

Idk if you noticed but the parry gives like 100 aura (or more if you spec for it) which is like 5 basic abilities or 1 strong one. To be fair regarding the resource requirements for the bed mentioned at 11:40, you can actually buy them. Whittacker and the Smith sell the materials you need once they are both upgraded at least once. Overall fair points though and still enjoying the hell out of this game. I'm actually level 18 right now and still haven't beat the game because I've just been exploring, doing bounties, challenges and leveling up the town as well as crafting my gear. This weapon has more damage in a non-pumped form than yours in a pumped form, so they correctly made a high requirement for strength, besides it is souls-like, and in soluses you constantly get some kind of powerful weapon for which you will swing half the game and this is the right balance.

parry fills up your focus every time so you get a free special attack which is the highest damage output possible.
the equipment levels are currently tied to story which is a bit unfortunate for people that are playing faster. so after killing the twins everything is level 21.
i actually think that the economy is perfect. at no point in the game did money ever lose value. i am always grinding. and this is actually good. finding items to sell instead of just finding 1000 of gold in a dead body doesn't seem to be a problem imo. the end result is the same. a tight but not unfair economy.

I feel strength boys are getting short changed. Because of how slow you level up and the stat requirements of the weapons, you can't afford to put any points into equipment load. So you're always fat rolling, the shoulder check uses a TON of stamina, no real benefit to weapon parries, you're essentially screwed. Also, shield enemies are broken. A huge sword should be able to break their defense faster but it's like they have infinite stamina. They're such a pain to deal with, specially if there are more enemies around. I am enjoying the game and I don't regret buying the early access, it definitely has a lot of potential, but they have a lot of work ahead of them to properly balance the game.

In regards to loot economy and exp the crucible gives you massive amounts of all 3. My 3rd character is lvl 21 and I'm only 5 hours in on him.
With resources I'm fairly certain the contribution system is accounting for your buddies to be chipping in. That being said, I really don't see an issue with it. Now that they fixed clay drops, I upgrade a structure every time I go out. I'd be more concerned with the timer continuing to go up. If we have to wait 48 hours for a smith to go to tier 4 or 5 that could suck.

What I've been doing is start a new character on a new realm just so they can get a couple levels and a couple icors, then I switch back to my main realm where I have my crafting stations and loot. Dec out the new guy and go into the crucible. The enemies there are worth hundreds of exp. They also drop a ton of loot, sell that, buy food and potions, run it again and make it further.

I really hope the devs can take the feedback without losing sight of their goals. I really, really enjoy how the game plays right now. It needs a lot of performance and quality of life changes, but the thousands of steam reviews demanding this play more like a Diablo game is certainly not what I want. I think they've already made some aspects extremely forgiving. On day 1 if I died a few times my gear would be on the verge of breaking and the cost to repair would be about as much as I've made. Now I can die 10+ times and I make 10x what I'm spending on repairs. It's losing the hardcore souls-like feeling I think they were going for.

The loot has influence from D2 which has been a great choice. One of reasons d2 has been so successful is due to the itemization. White items should be the most customizable. Man I just don’t feel like it takes that long to go farm wood 🤷‍♂️. Agree to disagree I suppose.

Valheim may be a good example, sometimes it feels nice to go chill and farm some mats and build for a small change of pace.
