    Just bought one of these in gloss black with identical specs and it doesn’t disappoint, especially in Sport or Track Mode. The alcantara leather seats are very, very nice, too. We moved to this from the Challenger R/T Blacktop w/ 6-spd manual and this is a much more refined car with equal or better performance. We miss our Challenger’s quirky rawness, but the Charger is a better and more “livable” car with more than enough under the hood to get you into a lot of trouble both with your own life or the cops. The deciding factor for us vs. the Scat was the fuel requirement. The 5.7 will run just fine on 87-89 octane, whereas the 6.4 only wants 93. That’s an additional ~$1000+/yr with daily driving and we’re not taking it to a track on the weekends.

      You know what, I like your judgement call. I personally prefer the charger over the challenger, feels more refined like you said. Congratulations on your purchase!

      @@OversteerAutoReviews Thanks! I figured I'd share what I've learned about it - it's a hell of a car.

    Haha hilarious on the trunk test! Like the extra commentary, and info like the transmission. Keep it up

    Good overall review, thanks.
    re: drive mode setups (12:29) - while the manual says the 3.6L and 5.7L don't have break-in restrictions like the 6.4L and 6.2L Hemis, in the R/T the Sport setting for the engine/trans is disabled for the first 500 miles.
    FYI for those looking at 2023 R/T: the Plus package no longer has heated rear seats, or storage in the rear arm rest, but the Daytona package does have these.

    No don’t get the scat pack. Insurance is much more and requires premium fuel. Get an rt plus with track pack for daily driving. If you ever need to race a scat pack just put a 150nitrous shot and maybe a 6.4 intake manifold, both combined are about $1,700.

    If the R/T had aftermarket headers and exhaust with an cold air intake, it can bring this car to life.

    You are so wrong that 5.7 engine is capable of handling alot more power it can take more boost than the scat pack engine or hellcat

    You didn't mention in your pick of the best car what was the model of the Cadillac? What model is it? I did think you did a very good review.

      Thank you very much Mike, and thank you for watching so far into the video. The vehicle I mentioned in the video is the 2022 Cadillac CT-4 V. However, I’d say the CT-5 V is the most comparable with the Charger R/T. I was trying to match the options and price together that’s why the CT-4 V was used in the comparison instead.

    Do all 2022 chargers have the xenon lights? I was under the impression they have yellow halogens

    • @OversteerAutoReviews
      @OversteerAutoReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe they’re HID Xenon lights, I could very well be incorrect though, haven’t been able to find a source which says different

    Maybe do a quick damp rag wipe down of the engine cover before showing it in the video. Never get a second chance for a first impression.

    Why is this engine infamous?

    • @OversteerAutoReviews
      @OversteerAutoReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      Released in 2003 and used in a large variety of models (Rams, Chargers, Challengers, Durangos, Magnums, Grand Cherokees, etc). Remains pretty reliable as long as it’s been up-kept with basic maintenance, great low end torque, and used in the American police fleet.

    Just like every other reviewer, makes no mention about the sound system. Like, fuck. What? People just aren't listening to music in their cars anymore?

    • @OversteerAutoReviews
      @OversteerAutoReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I used to do it, but the sound quality doesn’t go through the microphone and reflect the true quality of the speakers. Common sense mate.

    • @robertnathan2843
      @robertnathan2843 ปีที่แล้ว

      You still can review the sound system without us hearing it, mate

    • @OversteerAutoReviews

      Harmon/Kardon is great for Dodge, definitely a step up from the base system. I did a video on it on the Durango review (I drive that car daily). Handles bass better than most vehicles and it’s good at handling mids and highs. Better low end than Bang & Olufsen, but B&O is much better for most genres besides hip hop and R&B. Burmester takes the crown for high end speaker systems.

    • @robertnathan2843
      @robertnathan2843 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. Recently picked up a '20 RT from a rental lot, 55k miles indigo. Stock sound system that I may upgrade, but right now I'm enjoying the music coming out of the stock pipes.
