To answer this question for the most part (Gobou has not fought Umisho, and Umisho is not on Mocchi's level, IMO, so...): Someone on Gobou's stream said the following (translated by me): *Gobou Stream Viewer:* "I've seen a lot of Sol users on your stream, but he (たつま) was really good." *Gobou:* "Of all the (Sol) players I played against, he was by far the best." There were other things mentioned as well, such as how たつま was able to interrupt and find gaps in Gobou's pressure, and that they (Tatuma) were actually looking at Asuka's spells throughout the sets. Gobou said this last night, so well after they fight Mocchi at ArcRevo Japan - Mocchi is the Sol GOAT of Asia - just not at fighting against Asuka. Hopefully, this answers that pondering question you all had.
@@waitingforzato-1i-noinguil301 that's some talent right there, I was watching the stream and I genuinely was baffled how God like Tatuma's defense was
To anyone who may complain about Gobou's playstyle, Asuka, playing against Asuka, ect - although, you are well within your rights to do so - remember, you do have choices: 1. You can not click/watch the video. 2. You can play the character, too. Asuka is not reserved just for Gobou/other players, you can do the things you dislike when fighting against Asuka to other players as well. 3. You can dodge/avoid Asuka players in the game. 4. You can counterpick Asuka players - people compare Asuka to Happy Chaos all the time, but unlike HC, Asuka actually has hard counters (like Sin, Bridget, and others). 5. Play Axl against Asuka players. Picking back up from the above choice: When Gobou saw Axl's new move, they initiated a stream and essentially went into panic mode. Gobou during their stream said, "The battle with Axl is over. It's almost impossible to win at this point." - when Axl receives this new move in the December patch, and if they get the Faust treatment where nothing was really nerfed (because Faust and Axl are undertuned), I think this fight might be a candidate for one of the worst matchups in the game - like Goldlewis/Bridget. Weeks ago, RemiCeleste, a top Canadian Axl player mentioned that they think the only way how Asuka can win against Axl is by either randoming them out, or if the Axl plays the MU poorly - they implied that the Axl/Asuka MU may essential be impossible in its current state. However, what Gobou failed to consider regarding this matchup is if they shoot Asuka like they did to Zato; if ASW nerfs Case 3 into the ground, and nerf other core aspects of Asuka's gameplay, then this MU will get even harder. もっちー would be pleased.
🥰 people will always complain about something but I agree. They just want to be heard I guess. I always hope for the best for both fighters and their characters no matter how much I dislike them... unless they grab spam, they can fook off.
1. I want to watch Tatuma's Sol that's why I clicked video. 2. I don't like character(mechanics, his movement and etc) and I dont want to put so much effort in something I don't like. 3. I can't dodge this character in tourney bracket and I want to play with everyone, but that doesn't mean I can't complain about character. 4. Counterpicking in FGs is stupidest idea that can be done. My main problem with Asuka is that he doesn't interact with opponent and he's extremely boring to watch, absolutely ZERO fun. Just like HC in s1
@twinixsn6679 My apologies, I failed to mention that you can also learn the Asuka matchup, as well as counterplay - there are no 8-2 or 9/1 MUs in this game, so there is some counterplay to every character - even if it doesn't look like it initially. If you plan to play in tournaments, then it is imperative to learn the Asuka MU - the silver lining to this, is that Asuka representation is typically on the rarer side. In Asia, the same Asuka players usually enter online/offline tournaments, and I can count them on one hand. If you live in NA, then the same thing applies as in Asia - I believe EU has the most Asuka representation, but there were no Asuka's in top 24 at UFA. So again, the character is still fairly rare in tournaments. Further, depending on what you want to get out of a tournament, the decisions may vary. The pragmatic thing to do if you plan on doing your best in the event, and going forward in your tournament career would be: investing in extensive MU knowledge, character and player counterplay, and learn from your experiences (good and bad) - that's just a small list of things, but you get the idea. Regarding counterpicking: No offense, but counterpicking exists in virtually all competitive fighting games, and if a player wants to increase their chances of doing well in a tournament, then there should not be any issues with counterpicking your opponent - chances are, they'll probably do it to you, too. Again, no offense, and I'm not trying to lecture you, but although you have a right to complain; failing to do things that can alleviate/remedy the issue - or complain about things outside of your control - will only negatively affect your mental and physical health in the end, and will change nothing... I know you dislike Asuka's kit/playstyle, and that is okay; but ASW is not going to change it, or remove Asuka from the game (Asuka is "their baby" essentially with how much time and effort they put into creating him, according to the 14th volume of the Developer's Backyard, and the End of Season 2 video they made). Last, this conversation seems like it may become circular, and those make no sense to me. We can both agree to disagree, and please have a wonderful day (I would suggest taking a break from GGST if it stresses you out too much, or stop and smell the roses in your neighborhood).(✿ ͡◕ ᴗ◕)つ━━✫・*。 ibb.co/NZ2JHyj (I'm not a troll, so the image below is SFW)

Might be that one guy in party but anyway tbf I've been looking for gaps to use HMC in Sol vs Asuka videos like this too but most of time It would be hard for alot of conditions. Either Asuka has meter to RC and jump (which is common for other matchups too), too many projectiles that block Sol in the way buying time for Asuka to jump, HMC has kinda slow startup so it's hard to pull off while getting pressured. But there could be many other obstacles too
Ok, asuka is busted and boring to watch now, same thing as happy chaos when people got good with him, cool. Imo asuka is more boring than HC, because you just sit on the other side of the screen spamming cubes.
