Nothing of us. But all from him. Because there will never be an occassion for anyone to boast of themselves. The only labor Chist asked from us was to enter into his rest. Anyone who comes to him must rest from their own works as God did his. It becomes as natural as a fish in water gets wet when we begin to understand God's love for us it then motivates us but never out of duty or paying him back. No it becomes the very thing that fuels us to act that we cant even help ourselves but to love as he loved us. No it is an effect God makes on a believer but never out of duty
"I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you." (John 15: 15)
Talk about pride. "We don't serve God, God serves us" The gospel call to faith presupposes that sinners must repent of their sin and yield to Christ’s authority.” In other words, a sinner who refuses to repent is not saved, for he cannot cling to his sin and the Savior at the same time. And a sinner who rejects Christ’s authority in his life does not have saving faith, for true faith encompasses a surrender to God. Thus the gospel requires more than making an intellectual decision or mouthing a prayer; the gospel message is a call to discipleship. The sheep will follow their Shepherd in submissive obedience. Jesus’ repeated warnings to the religious hypocrites of His day as proof that simply agreeing to spiritual facts does not save a person. There must be a heart change. Jesus emphasized the high cost of discipleship: “Whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple” (Luke 14:27), and “Those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciples” (verse 33). In the same passage, Jesus speaks of counting the cost; elsewhere, He stresses total commitment: “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God” (Luke 9:62). In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus says that eternal life is a narrow path found by “only a few” (Matthew 7:14); in contrast, some seek to broaden the path so that anyone who has a profession of faith can enter. Jesus says that “every good tree bears good fruit” (verse 17); in contrast, some say that a tree can still be good and bear nothing but bad fruit. Jesus says that many who say “Lord, Lord” will not enter the kingdom (verses 21-23); in contrast, some teach that saying “Lord, Lord” is good enough. Paul and James taught that a true profession of faith will be backed up by evidence of faith. If a person is truly following the Lord, then they will obey the Lord’s instructions. A person who is living in willful, unrepentant sin has obviously not chosen to follow Christ, because Christ calls us out of sin and into righteousness. Indeed, the Bible clearly teaches that faith in Christ will result in a changed life 2 Corinthians 5:15,17 Galatians 5:22-23 James 2:14-26.
He has the correct scripture, it is about having a loving relationship with our heavenly father. What he is clearly saying is we cannot obtain things by legalistic service (which can lead to bondage) our service is our faith and trust in Jesus, let our heavenly father do his work and Jesus died for us. We should never be in the place where we feel we do not measure up, that is the enemy. You serve God by enjoying a personal relationship. Remember it is not by our works. This man definitely speaks the truth and he has scripture to back it up.
The service that Christians do is the overflow of everything that Christ has done for us. We love Him because He loved us first. Our service is the overflow of God’s service to us. It doesn’t even come from us but because of what He’s done, we can’t help it but to serve Him! It doesn’t even become an effort. The scripture is so true when he said “my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Col 1:29 - “ To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.” This is not about the strength that comes from the flesh but of Christ. WITHOUT ME YOU CAN DO NOTHING!!! This is the way of living in the freedom of the Spirit. Willpower exhausts, love ignites!
yes you are right, Jesus chose 12 disciples for two purposes; 1 to be with him 2.that he might send them to go and preach.mark3:14.first is to be with him, have intimacy, know him, love him. having achieve that he calls us to participate in the divine agenda over the earth.there's surely a requirement for service in the kingdom.but its not burdensome, its done as an act of love and recipient of grace. 1cor15:58.the work is of him and we are required to abound in it.
I started out by receiving God's love years ago without much biblical knowledge...then well meaning believers tried to show me how to serve God (do things for Him) after that God seemed to have left me to the point that i questioned my salvation...thank you Bas for reminding me of the truth that God needs nothing from me but i need Him to act on my behalf ....big hug
Joseph Poulin that's the way I feel, like God has left me in the dark, I feel like I'm getting pulled in two directions, I must rest in what Jesus has already done for us. The H S makes us despise sin but I guess at times it must be my own works and that brings distance from God. Good explanation on your part, thanks brother. Be blessed in Jesus mighty name.
This is EXACTLY where I'm at right now! Your comment brought tears to my eyes. I feel I was better off in the beginning, when it was just me and God -- before I statrted listening to and reading John MacArthur, CH Spurgeon and all the rest. Two things I wish I'd stayed away from: church, and preachers/teachers!!!
@@wk1810Out of curiosity, how old are you? I am 61. I became a true believer at age 19 but I grew up in Church and I am still in church. From this backdrop, I agree with you totally.
I totally agree with you.I too was born into legalizm and as a result did not find Christ until I was almost 50 yrs old! In fact, if Christians were taught the way you teach, athiests would be drawn more to accepting the loving God we know.
So then, my dear friends, stand firm and steady. Keep busy always in your work for the Lord, since you know that nothing you do in the Lord’s service is ever useless. (1 Corinthians 15:58
We were made to worship him, we were made to glorify him in all we do. I understand that if we don't know God it is all in vain however we should serve him with all our heart. The servant king Jesus washed our feet and gave up his life as a ransom for many no we are called to follow his example and serve other for the glory of God. He has saved us to set us free from sins and know him now we should fall down on our faces and say master I will serve you forever
But the church I attend, as well as others I've visited for events, push the same message! The way the preacher hammers it home, the worship song should be Janet Jackson's "What Have You Done For Me Lately?" We were constantly told to do this or do that for God. I always felt used. After close to 30 years of this, being drained of emotional and mental strength, joy, and peace -- I left the church. Now I am discovering God for the first time it seems. Thank you, Bas, for this timely video. 33 legalists pressed the 👎
Love your teaching. The Lord showed this to me 7 years ago.I am free from legalism, I have ceased from my labour's and am living in his rest. It's wonderful. I shock main stream church people by telling them I am perfect, it messes them up every time. I then tell them that I am perfect in Jesus, when the Father looks at me he sees Jesus. How freeing is that. Keep up the good work.
Hi Bas. After so many years of hearing how we are to serve God, it is hard to change but, new understanding is helping. Thank you so much for your videos.
I was saved recently and received the Holy Spirit but after a few weeks of literally just being free and living high on and in the Spirit, I came down with an almighty bang and thought God had deserted me until last night when I felt Him break me down again to build me up and receive a fresh importation of His Spirit it was beautiful. I now know it wasn’t Him that had left me it was my allowing my mind to start to condemn me again for now but living upto the world’s expectations of me but Gods do I began to feel completely worthless again I just wasn’t quick enough to realise what was going on. It was Satan trying to draw me back into his disposable ways of thinking and going back to a life of bondage. But with the help of The Holy Spirit thank God He woke me back up! Thankyou Bas for this lovely blessed reminder. Yes we are slaves in someways but only to Love! The wAr is in our minds! Praise The Lord, I am Yours. God Bless.
Truth of our Lord Jesus is revealed by the Holy Spirit here. thank you Lord Jesus! Our God loves more thank we can imagine and knows more about us than we can imagine!
Absolutely true. Bas you couldn't explained this better. God is Almighty and we should just rest in HIM and He will provide everything. I can't wait to meet God in person and personally thank His son Jesus Christ for saving me from the fire of hell so that I can enjoy eternal life with God my creator and savior. Another proof God loves his children is that He already prepared the mansions in heaven for us. God is my only Love that will never disappoint me, this I know. found sheep (ex Catholic)
what we do is for ourselves ,we need Gods help to find us christian friends to enjoy life and to encourage and help each other and God building the christian community for our enjoyment
According to Scripture all Christians are servants of God Romans 6:22 - But now that you have been set free from sin and have become servants (slaves) of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. Titus 1:1 - Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ 1 Corinthians 4:1 - This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ 2 Corinthians 6:4 - but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: by great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities Galatians 1:10 - If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. Philippians 1:1 - Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus Colossians 1:7 - just as you learned it from Epaphras our beloved fellow servant. Colossians 4:7 - Tychicus will tell you all about my activities. He is a beloved brother and faithful minister and fellow servant in the Lord. Colossians 4:12 - Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus James 1:1 - James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ 1 Peter 2:16 - Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. Jude 1:1 - Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ Revelation 1:1 - The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place. Revelation 6:11 - Then they were each given a white robe and told to rest a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers should be complete Revelation 19:5 - And from the throne came a voice saying, “Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, small and great.”
So then, my dear friends, stand firm and steady. Keep busy always in your work for the Lord, since you know that nothing you do in the Lord’s service is ever useless. (1 Corinthians 15:58
Your right all the things we do should flow out of knowing God having relationship with him. I have been beating myself up a lot because I have been comparing myself to other christians. Putting myself down thinking I am believing enough because certain things aren't evident in my life. That seems like a tactic of the enemy to get me caught up in myself and focused on self.
All churches I've attended over the years, go from the point of view that the people are there for the church. They make you feel guilty for not doing more for the church, because it suits their purpose. You become a useful tool in the organization to keep it going. It should be the other way around. The church should be there for the people.
Hebrews 9:14 King James Bible How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to SERVE the living God?
Thanks Bas for your eye opening videos they have really given me a new way of looking at life in Jesus.. freedom and His unconditional love, God bless you.
This means we serve the needy, much more the needy, voluntarily with love, let the H.S. work in you. The HOLY LORD GOD THE SON MESSAGE IS HE COME NOT TO BE SERVED BUT TO SERVE. HE is of FULLNESS, Follow HIM means SERVICE to the needy out of LOVE not out of duty, THE TWO GREATEST COMMANDMENTS OF THE MESSIAH SAVIOUR, AMEN!!!
LOVE, Serving WITH THE LORD FOR THE NEEDY, our fellow men all over the nations, CHARITY IS GREATER THAN LOVE THAN HOPE WITH FAITH, ARISING THE HEART IN US, GDBLSS!!!
Whatever happened to the very biblical statement, " a bond servant." With the caul through the ear. Or like Caleb, whose name means dog," who had a different spirit within him as he followed hard after God." Also we are to do the works of the disciple, heal the sick, preach the gospel, cast out demons, raise the dead" We need to share the gift of eternal life with others There is something a bit weird here, can't put my finger on it yet. But it doesn't ring right.
Yes , but it also says he called us to good works, in John it says anyone doing something for someone lesser done it for me. We are here to serve people as well that people see your good works praise God.
Yes, I agree but salvation rests in belief on Him. The rest is discipleship. Grace is a gift from God, you can’t earn it, you can do nothing to keep it or lose it. Rest in Christ and your love will open up.
Our service can't be perfect, and at the same time, in Jesus, it is perfect. It is easy to understand via the children-father prism. It's like i'm a child, a toddler who sometimes behaves silly, but the Father still loves me to death and he actually gave His life for me when coming to this planet as a human. If He punishes me, it is the best punishment ever - to educate, not to humiliate. He is a parent better than any parents in the universe. Our love without Him is evil, but in Him (believing in Jesus) it is perfect in God's eyes. It is the relationship of us (Children) and our Father that is a worship and service in itself. We are children and our heavenly Father loves us unconditionally. When you become a child, you are sealed with His love, and nothing can part you from it. Only rest and joy and no anxiety! God is Love! Jesus is the Servant King!
If you can, please, make a video about what means a true repentance, cause too many preachers preaching different things about it, and, i dont know who to believe to. Also, who are the goats and sheeps, and, why goats to be cast out?. What means, if you deliberately sin, there will be no sacrifice for your sin remaining? Why if you bury your talants you will be cast out? And, who are the ten virgins? Cause, its a very confusing and scary object, cause, for example, my church teaches that 5 virgins didnt have enough oil, because they didnt pray long enough, didnt seek Gods face enough, and, didnt served God enough, thats why they didnt get enough of the holy spirit to lif them to the air during a rapture, lol. Sounds like a Holy Spirit has somekind of a gas station, where you can pump more of it and fill your lamps with it, also, some preacher on youtube explained that five virgins are the Jews that didnt accepted Christ, and, thats why God left them for the great tribulation. So, in reality, ten virgins are Christians or Jews? See, its all very confusing, would be wonderful to get a TRUE explanations ...
James 2:14-26 New King James Version (NKJV) Faith Without Works Is Dead 14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. 18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your[a] works, and I will show you my faith by my[b] works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe-and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?[c] 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”[d] And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. 25 Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
We trample his blood when we do good works! Let the Holy Ghost lead you and he will make you hate sin Then if and when God asks you to do something Do It!!! Great video Bas! Amen and thank you
greetings sojourner Bas, first verse that came to mind upon hearing the Word through you: After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. Then comes he to Simon Peter: and Peter said to him, "Lord, do you wash my feet?" ... "If I wash you not, you have no part with me." For example, When I am kind to someone I do so not because I am obligated or want or need something from them or am afraid of them, but because I love them with the understanding love PAPA shows me in turn showing the love of PAPA and loving them with the love of PAPA to whomever I am kind to? Thank you PAPA for giving in the cause of Jesus
So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; Philippians 2:12 NASB1995
I understand about the heavenly gift. only God gets the glory. and I understand the importance of believing in the testimony of Yeshua and that he came from God. God isn't an abject ruler, true! but if we are the spouse of God (woman of Rev. 12..spiritual Israel)...we should emulate God's character unto others and back unto God (basically out of love and gratitude for God's undeserved kindness, which can't be repaid). after all, we're created in God's image. :)
We can not do any good works on our own unless it is Christ Jesus through us we are his vessel, all the glory goes to Jesus our Lord there is then nothing we can boast about ourselves. Many churches make you pole vault or works for your salvation which is dangerous because it is all Jesus in what he did for us. I certainly would not want to steal Gods Glory from him with my works.
1Jn 2:1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 1Jn 2:2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. 1Jn 2:3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 1Jn 2:4 He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 1Jn 2:5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 1Jn 2:6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
Again,it seems to be about semantics. The term “service” here is perceived differently. While I enjoy the way your questions and statements create a “crisis” in the minds of the viewer, their is still a “service” we are compelled to carry out by the Spirit. But there is a true liberty in that service.
Hi there, I love your declaration that "Jesus is King." It's such a powerful truth! Nice twist. Fits perfectly with Matthew 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou SERVE. Luke 16:13, Romans 1:9, I Thessalonians 1:9 For they themselves show of us what manner of entering in we had unto you and how ye turned to God (which is a condition to receive eternal life) from idols to SERVE the living and true God. II Tim. 1:3, Hebrews 12:28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may SERVE God ACCEPTABLY with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire. There are so many scriptures that state we are to serve God I will not include them all. Of course we are not to serve Him to obtain salvation, and yes it is God who does any work that is of any value in and through us. Joshua 24:15 tops it off... And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will SERVE the Lord. We all have to take everything anyone says and test it with the scriptures, and we better know God's word inside and out or we WILL be deceived. There is truth in many teachings and just enough error to get us skipping down the path to hell.
You did not listen to the video like so many others. Bas has an excellent grip on the scriptures, all you can do is recite them out of context. First, do not mix old testament verses with new testament verses. They are 2 different covenants. One is based on service and works, while the other is based on REST. Bas DID NOT SAY we do not serve God at all, but that our service to Him comes out of our intimate relationship with Him which is why He died for us. ! God doesnt require the work of our hands, as though He needed anything ! He wants a relationship with us !!!!! Get it ? How does one serve God acceptably ? Think about it....Evangelism ? Missionary work ? Singing in the choir ? Those can be expressions out of our love for him.....however........we serve God acceptably by KNOWING HIS SON JESUS CHRIST ! Once we know him, our service ( acceptable now ) grows out of our love relationship with Him. But its service He has prepared for us in advance, even before the foundation of the earth was laid. Its all Him, He initiates it, He completes it, He finishes it..... but He wants us, all of us, it cost Him His Son !
Robert Lassche a lot of your statements are incorrect including this one you are able to mix New Testament and Old Testament statements as long as Jesus mention them still being relevant in the New Covenant there are some covenants from the Old Testament that are still relevant and this is stated by Jesus when he was explaining to everyone the New Covenant please go back and read the scriptures I suggest finding a good Mentor
Robert Lassche the rest of it I completely agree with he wants to be a part of our entire life every aspect of it not just put in a box or on a shelf to be taken down and paid attention to
Hi there, what a profound statement! It truly is about God working in us and through us, isn’t it? That’s such a beautiful expression of the Gospel of grace. Hi Bas.. I love your videos, they are truly God sent; But after growing up so legalistic that I was afraid to breathe, lest it be outside of Gods will, and therefore afraid that I fell short of His blessings..I need so much healing here. Its a terrible waste of living my whole life; even in my short rebellion, I enjoyed until the guilt caught up and condemned me, to the point that I feared committing the unpardonable sin. I just wanted to be free in His Love always. NOW, please enlighten on Roman 6:18 where it says We are SLAVES to Righteousness..i only see this from the legalistic perspective. Also, someone said to me..we need to obey Christ's teaching, or we are disobedient children.. Not the 10 commandments; but what Christ taught us to do in Hos commandments in the NT. Please offer some clarity for me. God bless your work and gifts.
Jesus, the annointed of God, not God Himself, obviously is not gonna allow people in the kingdom who do not want to obey him and to give up their lifes for him. You are just lying when you say that we should not serve Christ 2 Corinthians 5:15 AndHe died for all, that those who live should no longer livefor themselves, but for Him who died for them and was raised again.
Of course shall vi serve God. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Another ticklish message that majority is wanting to hear. Not to serve God? Read Matt. 6:24 KJV telling us only to SERVE one master. Matt. 9: 37 emphasis on LABORERS being few to a plentiful harvest. These are only few commandments of Jesus about working for the Kingdom of God. Many have been called, only few is chosen. For narrow and straight is the path to eternal life and only few finds it. But broad and easy is what leads to damnation. He had called many to become " Fisher's of men"! Does that sound doing nothing? Read the four 4 gospels brothers and sisters and see for yourselves what Jesus really wants us to do. Peace and love.
What about what Paul says? We do His will by believing in Him. The teaching Is not ‘don’t do anything’ but believing on Him. Then you are sealed by the Holy Spirit unto good works.
Eph 2:7-10 in the MSG translation takes a lot of "liberty" in telling the reader what to think. Comparing it to other translations, it is similar but unrecognizable.
hi bas, im so blessed with how you presented ur videos..and i must accept sometimes its hard for me to grasp coz i think its too good to be true..however, everytime you presented a topic that's new to me, i feel lighter and i can't xplain...bas, can i ask a favor if you could also share to me what is your view about hell?
Greetings Bas! I am glad that you are revealing the gospel, that isn't not a new one but the same one that Paul revealed. There is no other gospel, it is all about Jesus and nothing else. My only problem that I am having is that when I try to speak about these things to people in my "church," I seem to get attacked. I try to speak about the Fathers love for us. I noticed there are about 4-5 things people keep bringing up to me, that try to diminish the Lord's grace. I was wondering if you were willing to let me email you about these things mainly because I am having trouble refuting them. Thank you reading!
what about His judgment? What about trial and temptation and tribulations in this world? God is love because of His unconditional love...THERE WILL BE JUDGEMENT...
yes Ephesians 2:7-9 "That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that NOT of yourselves: it is the gift of God. NOT of works, lest any man should boast."
I'm agree with you but you need to keep a balance between loving God and serving him. Or we could say that we serve God because we love him. But I understand what you are saying. It's the attitude or the starting what makes the difference.
Did you know the DEVIL used 5 " I's " When declaring himself in the bible. In other word's it was all about him, and no one else. He started one verse against God by saying, "I WILL ASCEND". Big mistake. This is when God brought him to the lowest parts of hell when he spoke against God. He disobeyed God. It's why God reminds us that obedience is better than sacrifice.
Be careful of what you teach for you will be Judged more strictly. James 3:1. We are saved to serve God, We should place God first in fact We should believe every word in the Bible and as Christians Live up to the name set upon us if you call yourself a Christian know that your bearing Christs name and do not profane his name or miss use his name by your words or actions DON'T FOLLOW THE WORLD!!! just because people do it does not mean its right... and most of all be careful that you are not deceived. • Isaiah 32:6 • Isaiah 3:12 • Matthew 22:29 •

Talk about pride.
"We don't serve God, God serves us"
The gospel call to faith presupposes that sinners must repent of their sin and yield to Christ’s authority.” In other words, a sinner who refuses to repent is not saved, for he cannot cling to his sin and the Savior at the same time.
Jesus’ repeated warnings to the religious hypocrites of His day as proof that simply agreeing to spiritual facts does not save a person. There must be a heart change. Jesus emphasized the high cost of discipleship: “Whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple” (Luke 14:27), and “Those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciples” (verse 33). In the same passage, Jesus speaks of counting the cost;
elsewhere, He stresses total commitment: “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God” (Luke 9:62).
Jesus says
that many who say “Lord, Lord” will not enter the kingdom (verses 21-23); in contrast, some teach that saying “Lord, Lord” is good enough.
Paul and James
taught that a true profession of faith will be backed up by evidence of faith. If a person is truly following the Lord, then they will obey the Lord’s instructions. A person who is living in willful, unrepentant sin has obviously not chosen to follow Christ, because Christ calls us out of sin and into righteousness. Indeed, the Bible clearly teaches that faith in Christ will result in a changed life
2 Corinthians 5:15,17
Galatians 5:22-23
James 2:14-26.
The scripture is so true when he said “my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Col 1:29 - “ To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.”
This is not about the strength that comes from the flesh but of Christ.
As for me and my house we shall serve the LORD
I totally agree with you.I too was born into legalizm and as a result did not find Christ until I was almost 50 yrs old! In fact, if Christians were taught the way you teach, athiests would be drawn more to accepting the loving God we know.
I agree there is Christiandom (traditions and religion ) VS an intimate relationship with God.
Very powerful brother
This is what called grace
I get it.
I agree God doesn't want us to do anything other than to be ourselves and the person he made us to be
So then, my dear friends, stand firm and steady. Keep busy always in your work for the Lord, since you know that nothing you do in the Lord’s service is ever useless. (1 Corinthians 15:58
Yes. I didn't even notice that my Christian life was "me-centered" ! I only thought about myself until God opened my eyes!
Yes I agree with Him..God want us to have relationship with Him intimately so we can be like Christ..Amen!
33 legalists pressed the 👎
This needs to be shared.
The enemy has been blinding his people to this truth and they need to see this.
Ouch. This was me. My Christian life was "me centered" until God opened my eyes. It's not about me, it's all about Him.

John 13:34
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another."

love is from the beginning because God is love
God Bless.
Thanks for sharing. Non of churches share this things because it kills their business. God bless you.
Truth of our Lord Jesus is revealed by the Holy Spirit here. thank you Lord Jesus! Our God loves more thank we can imagine and knows more about us than we can imagine!
Through us, God's work is done.

Amen Ed! P.S. see u over on Renee's, Luke and Talkin doctrine!!! :}
God does not need our service. We praise and glorify Him.
what we do is for ourselves ,we need Gods help to find us christian friends to enjoy life and to encourage and help each other and God building the christian community for our enjoyment
That rings true to me.
Thank you for your videos.
It's true that legalism never says "Good job son", but is always condemning.
Yah, love, be blessed and bless!!!
According to Scripture all Christians are servants of God
Romans 6:22 - But now that you have been set free from sin and have become servants (slaves) of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life.
Titus 1:1 - Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ
1 Corinthians 4:1 - This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ
2 Corinthians 6:4 - but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: by great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities
Galatians 1:10 - If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
Philippians 1:1 - Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus
Colossians 1:7 - just as you learned it from Epaphras our beloved fellow servant.
Colossians 4:7 - Tychicus will tell you all about my activities. He is a beloved brother and faithful minister and fellow servant in the Lord.
Colossians 4:12 - Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus
James 1:1 - James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ
1 Peter 2:16 - Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.
Jude 1:1 - Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ
Revelation 1:1 - The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place.
Revelation 6:11 - Then they were each given a white robe and told to rest a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers should be complete
Revelation 19:5 - And from the throne came a voice saying, “Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, small and great.”
this guy is an anti-God
So then, my dear friends, stand firm and steady. Keep busy always in your work for the Lord, since you know that nothing you do in the Lord’s service is ever useless. (1 Corinthians 15:58
Roman 12:11
11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; SERVING the Lord
Yes in love not serving Him out of duty
Your right all the things we do should flow out of knowing God having relationship with him. I have been beating myself up a lot because I have been comparing myself to other christians. Putting myself down thinking I am believing enough because certain things aren't evident in my life. That seems like a tactic of the enemy to get me caught up in myself and focused on self.
...so true Sabrina!!! the enemy will do ANYTHING to get our eyes off Jesus...God bless!
Fix your eyes unto Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith.
Trying to sort out 28 years of “service”... very painful....
All churches I've attended over the years, go from the point of view that the people are there for the church. They make you feel guilty for not doing more for the church, because it suits their purpose. You become a useful tool in the organization to keep it going. It should be the other way around. The church should be there for the people.
The yoke of Jesus is easy..

John 12:26
26 If any man SERVE ME, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man SERVE ME, him will my Father honour.

Thanks Bas, great message. Refreshing and encouraging.
Excellent word and perfectly explained thank you brother for putting our relationship with God and our serving him in its proper order.
Amen💕
Yes Amen!
That's an awesome teaching, thank you for the truth you are sharing. I'm grateful to God for teachers like you.
You're welcome Eddie. It's my pleasure to serve you this way :)
John 12v26 Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.
+ David Keel, semantics, Ephesians 2:8-9 saved by faith not by works, Isaiah 64:4 created in christ jesus to do good works
James 2:14-26 New King James Version (NKJV)
Faith Without Works Is Dead
14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works?
David Keel why you would serve something that you dont know if he exists

Great video Bas! Amen and thank you
Get behind me satan! You are a stumbling block to me, you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men" (Matthew 16:23).
greetings sojourner Bas,
first verse that came to mind upon hearing the Word through you:
After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. Then comes he to Simon Peter: and Peter said to him, "Lord, do you wash my feet?" ...
"If I wash you not, you have no part with me."
For example, When I am kind to someone I do so not because I am obligated or want or need something from them or am afraid of them, but because I love them with the understanding love PAPA shows me in turn showing the love of PAPA and loving them with the love of PAPA to whomever I am kind to?
Thank you PAPA for giving in the cause of Jesus
Wow this is very well put and explains what he is talking about, thank you
So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling;
Philippians 2:12 NASB1995
I understand about the heavenly gift. only God gets the glory. and I understand the importance of believing in the testimony of Yeshua and that he came from God. God isn't an abject ruler, true! but if we are the spouse of God (woman of Rev. 12..spiritual Israel)...we should emulate God's character unto others and back unto God (basically out of love and gratitude for God's undeserved kindness, which can't be repaid). after all, we're created in God's image. :)
I'm crying now like a baby 😭😭😭😭
We can not do any good works on our own unless it is Christ Jesus through us we are his vessel, all the glory goes to Jesus our Lord there is then nothing we can boast about ourselves. Many churches make you pole vault or works for your salvation which is dangerous because it is all Jesus in what he did for us. I certainly would not want to steal Gods Glory from him with my works.
I like how some old lutherans say, "God doesnt need your good works, your neighbor needs your good works!"
BTW, I am not Lutheran, but have MANY wonderful Lutheran friends, Reformed friends, Quaker friends, even Catholic friends! (and many others....)
This is fantastic thanks Bas
God is Holy

Maybe you have to read the book before you judge it Brother.
I do the work of the Lord not because I am a servant because he is my Heavenly Father. I dod what I do for him is out of love, not servitude.
Correct! You do the things you do not because you need to, but because the Holy Spirit is in you. Glory to God, brother!

Actually the only condition for eternal life is belief and faith in Jesus Christ John 3:16
Robert Lassche the rest of it I completely agree with he wants to be a part of our entire life every aspect of it not just put in a box or on a shelf to be taken down and paid attention to
We do serve God...God not hy works but by resting in conscience...that kindnof service isn't "works" but Him working in us!

You are just lying when you say that we should not serve Christ
2 Corinthians 5:15 AndHe died for all, that those who live should no longer livefor themselves, but for Him who died for them and was raised again.
Then you are sealed by the Holy Spirit unto good works.
we are supposed to each other.
+joy tan +joy tan Felling lighter? Sounds like you're listening to the GOOD NEWs of Christ and what He has done! I might talk later more about hell.

Amen
What about all the scriptures about being lukewarm and warning about falling away???
Zachary Bergey and yeshua. said youre servants to who you obey, why do you call me master and don't do what I say
Andres Arias You sound like you're church isn't for you. Pray to God about it.
Do you believe in the gift of speaking in tongues? Prophecy and how do you believe it helps us today
what about His judgment? What about trial and temptation and tribulations in this world? God is love because of His unconditional love...THERE WILL BE JUDGEMENT...
I read Eph 2:7-10 (MSG) and that has more words than the traditionally used KJV Bible. I would doubt The Message Bible translation.
I stay away from the Mess.
yes Ephesians 2:7-9 "That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that NOT of yourselves: it is the gift of God. NOT of works, lest any man should boast."

Good job men, your videos always make me kind of happy :D
I'm agree with you but you need to keep a balance between loving God and serving him. Or we could say that we serve God because we love him. But I understand what you are saying. It's the attitude or the starting what makes the difference.
Did you know the DEVIL used 5 " I's " When declaring himself in the bible. In other word's it was all about him, and no one else. He started one verse against God by saying, "I WILL ASCEND". Big mistake. This is when God brought him to the lowest parts of hell when he spoke against God. He disobeyed God. It's why God reminds us that obedience is better than sacrifice.
