Feeding people is very expensive and people coming around only during lunch hour is costly and takes away some of your capital and profits if they are not putting in the work to help around the farm. I can see the expression with your wife as these individuals come around during lunch hour only to eat and then leave, you are running a farm, not a cafeteria to feed the homeless. Take care of your helpers, and feed them well because they are there for you working hard. Don't get me wrong, sharing is caring but when it becomes a habit/habitual individuals take advantage of good people. Let them know that they can join the party but also help around the farm.
