Nice to see another 38 -- she looks BEAUTIFUL! The aft part of your cockpit and lazarette are different than mine. I love your stainless (and bronze) handrails on the deckhouse (mine are teak). Incredible refit. Very best wishes!

@@svon3241 Sorry for the delay, I'm not real good at paying attention to my own comments on TH-cam;-) I'm in Seattle - Elliott Bay Marina... I-Dock. I just put the boat cover on her for winter last weekend! Always makes me a little sad. We've made a lot of trips up north in her, but hoping to head south to the warmth in the next few years! She's a wonderful boat-very forgiving for all my many mistakes;-)

@@tgwhelan , no worries! I’m bad at noticing comments as well but trying! We’re heading up north this spring perhaps we can connect. Another couple, who have bought a 36 are retrofitting their boat, Sailing Magic Carpet is in Washington as well. They have a very nice TH-cam page you might be interested in.
We headed south and are in Puerto Vallarta right now. Loving the warmth!!

@@svon3241 , I am envious of your location!! 39F and raining in Seattle at the moment;-) I love Sailing Magic Carpet... I'm saving up their recent episodes for a good binge over the holiday break. I'm totally up to connect. I need to haul out in Feb/March and pull the shaft. Then hopefully start cruising the sound starting in April/May!

Wow,i assume for the refitprice you can buy ....but he,i am also a little crazy at that point....

Hi Guido, actually, the refit was still cheaper than purchasing new. Perhaps we could have found a Cape George that was in better shape and needed less work but perhaps not. We now know everything about this boat and where everything is!

Yes,like in my case,i felt in love with an old nauticat motorsailor, pretty much the same construction, although its off cousre an motorsailer.
The thing with mine is that the wood is also exposed( mahogany) and only protected with classic varnisch.
You can the anually refitworks on my you tube channel after the trips.
I had to remove not only the bad wood, but had to fiberglass UNDER the visible wood .
I have now an boat who is finally dry,but it took my 6 winters and lot of hours and money.
Now i dont now if you follow magic carpet, they bought also an cape george wich is an shed in exact the same town as was yours and in a matter of time tally ho.......
