He worked for B&M and ended his career with Amtrak ... all in all 43 years. He passed away this past January at the age of 91. You should’ve seen her working during the Milepost 8 excursions from this year’s Annual Picnic. She worked up a 4% grade in spots with 3 passenger cars, on the ground and aboard was a sight and sound to behold.
I loved the casual small talk while they were loading the milk onto the truck. It just reminds you of what it was like back then when everyone treated everyone else equally and the world was a better place.
I noticed in a couple of views of what appears to be a blow-off valve on the lower front corner of the firebox on the fireman's side of #9. Are they on both sides? Thanks. Great video. ✌
Fabulous surroundings with autumn (fall) colours and a lot of work has obviously gone into setting up this charter. Excellent filming of a charismatic locomotive and rolling stock. Another time, maybe the vehicles should be backed up a bit closer to the wagons to avoid back injuries lifting those heavy weights. Thanks for sharing, Bob K
"Twighlight Zone- A Stop at Willoughby"... good stuff Maynerd. @Jake Eaton - composer glitched. I knew three great grandparents around 1970, 98-104yrs. One did some logging, some with narrow gauge lines (michigan U.P.). I recall hearing a lot of orally told tales, but ,not enough with details. I just know we lost a lot as these oral traditions died off with the folk of that era. They didn't have the Net, TV or even Radio to entertain. The best never made it to print as what would have scandalous barstool stories around 1900, and even thru to 70 by polite folk, though tame enough for prime time today. Great Grandma was Ojibwe from the U.P., the Army marched her down to Fla.. She marched back... hopping any train she could and assimilating into society "undetected". (and raised a WW2 paratrooper, jumped 8 times, Bastard of Bastonge, etc, 101st/82nd) . ....I had some interesting elders, lol. Thank the other Gramps for nicer 50s chrome)

I’m Sorry to hear that. One of my family members passed away around January or later at the age of 102! She lived a long life.

They are planning to keep expanding, that's as far as they have confirmed
