I had to watch this video twice!!! Please get Phil on more of your videos on this channel! Your views will skyrocket guaranteed! He’s a straight comedian and a old school plumber all in one!
Pro press fittings are a game changer. As someone who has changed a lot of these big water heaters in hotels that never want their water shut off either, they make it much faster. I also think they look clean. Thanks for all the great content.
Its always great to have a friend you can rely on and who can rely on you. However, it somehow works out that all my friends are busy or out of town when i need that extra hand
Man this is a really good channel. Any young men getting into the trades or any construction or even if they do another job this channel could seriously benefit them and our society. Because a majority of our society is confused on what is a man. Well this dude is a man’s man, just deep down a good ol fella. Keep up the good work and God bless.
I'd hang out with that guy if he didn't know anything about plumbing. But he does know and that just makes it awesome to learn from him. His sense of humor is priceless and spot on. This is one of the best EC videos ever.
Question, if the acidic water is eating the concrete, why are the tanks directly on the floor, why not raised on a plinth or blocks to avoid being in contact with the fluids
Phil cracks me up. His self-assured attitude about his work and the nihilism of everything fails eventually definitely shows the duality of man perfectly.
This video reminds me of the time that I had to replace a water heater at a motel and restaurant. Like Phil, I was a two-person shop. Couldn't shut the motel down, so middle of the night and galvanized pipe. The crimp fittings would have been very handy for a couple of other jobs. I remember repairing a leaking joint in a 2" copper line in an apartment building. It had been leaking for years and of course there was lime build-up. I was able to get the joint apart and cleaned up, but it took about half a loaf of white bread to get the water to stop so that I could re-solder the joint. Worked out fine, though.
Are yall construction workers or standup comedians? What a hoot! Ive been plumbing by myself primarily for the past 5 years and forgot how fun it can be to bust balls with the fellas. Great video
Great video! Thanks for letting us tag along! Too bad we couldn't go with to the scrapyard to see how much money was in the trailer! Also, thanks for not bombarding us with other videos of yours. That has been a recent addition and it isn't my favorite. It makes sense because it sends us on to other videos, but it feels tacky to me. You guys aren't the tacky type!
It was sorta funny and strange at the same time to Phil using a pro-press to affix the pipes And he certainly was more at ease with the torch. But one thing is for sure. I GUESS YOU CAN TEACH A OLD DOG NEW TRICKS. Loved seeing Phil again hope to see more on the sousvid meat plan idea
I used to do HVAC for a living... I just wish I could have learned more about it... before I stopped doing it.... thanks 👍🙏 again for the video 📸.... JJ...😊
...mmm I am not a plumber but i did work on loads of construction sites during my 30 plus years on the jobs... Some how this hot water system looks like someone decided to add in a lot of EXTRA piping that isn't really needed ! as for the too hot water going to the washroom sinks - just turn off the hot water on those sinks and crank up the dishwasher heat
Been there done that. Looks like a certain brand of sea food restaurant utility room. I do believe I would have bumped up the gas line size to 3/4 for those extra cold days when the gas co. isn't keeping up.
I’ve got a phil. His name is Chuck and he’s been out to my house 3x this winter to get my boiler back up and running. Only charged me once but left with cash in hand each time because I know his value.
“Sometimes it’s nice to store these, so you don’t even know where they’re at later” lol so true
I have many “these” stored soI don’t know where they’re at later, too!
It's the unwritten law of repair .
And Easter Eggs ...
Came down here to quote the exact same thing. Put it somewhere safe... where no one can find it. Not even me!!
Man, this guy needs his own channel! Essential Plumbing (and dry jokes), no need to thank for the tip :-) Having followed EC since the day 1.
Love his sense of humor, this is the kind of guy that would be a joy to work with. What an expert
Phil needs his own spin-off TH-cam channel named Essential Plumber! 😄

Best idea I've heard lately.

I love Phil's gentle humour. I can fully understand why you like working with a guy with such a generous spirit.
The banter among working men is universal the world over. 😊
“strength of the youth!” i USE to hear that one, now im the one saying it. 🙄

It's always a treat when Phil is on the show. 😊🔧
He keeps his humour nice and dry so he'll never have to deal with a leak.

Hell yes I love Phil. He cracks me up.
Its always great to have a friend you can rely on and who can rely on you. However, it somehow works out that all my friends are busy or out of town when i need that extra hand

Phil is so funny every time he shows up in a video he makes me laugh!
Laughed out loud at 11:10. Been on both sides of that "never failed me" "you're too young to say never" convo. :)

A couple of years ago I commented on a video asking for this exact video. Thank you!

Phil has a great sense of humor. I liked watching him use the press tool for the first time.
Properly executed plumbing is like fine art!
I could watch Phil work every day. Love his humor.
I'd hang out with that guy if he didn't know anything about plumbing. But he does know and that just makes it awesome to learn from him. His sense of humor is priceless and spot on. This is one of the best EC videos ever.

Watching a competent plumber work is simply a thing of joy!
Question, if the acidic water is eating the concrete, why are the tanks directly on the floor, why not raised on a plinth or blocks to avoid being in contact with the fluids

Mr Phil just one of the many Legendary craftsman that is such a pleasure to get to visit with oh this fantastic channel keep up the good work

I love "This is science!".

Phil! Fun to see you guys together. Hope he found a torch with a deadman switch....
Go work more with Phil! He's the funniest, most hilariously sarcastic plumber the world has ever known.
I've said it before, Phil is a national treasure.
Always good to see Phil
you may have a dedicated 140 degree line. for the kitchen and have tied into the domestic hot line or recirc line

Phil is a legend. Thanks for sharing
The funniest video so far. He told the customer to complain. That’s funny.
Great video! Thanks for letting us tag along! Too bad we couldn't go with to the scrapyard to see how much money was in the trailer! Also, thanks for not bombarding us with other videos of yours. I used the press tool for gas piping. Pretty slick!
Great video. Love watching masters at work.
HEY!! Phil good to see you again😊
It was sorta funny and strange at the same time to Phil using a pro-press to affix the pipes And he certainly was more at ease with the torch. But one thing is for sure. I GUESS YOU CAN TEACH A OLD DOG NEW TRICKS.

Been there done that. Looks like a certain brand of sea food restaurant utility room. I do believe I would have bumped up the gas line size to 3/4 for those extra cold days when the gas co. isn't keeping up.
Phil's great, reminds me of my favorite uncle!
My only suggestion is that Phil should get a handheld band saw
Rokus is gold.
I used to work in a meat packing plant.. and cooking the meat in boiling water taste so damn good. I used to chop off the best part of the cow 🤣🤣...

@7:45 "sometimes it's nice to store these so you don't even know where they are later" Scott: That's great.... :) Phil does need his own podcast.
What part failed on the blower? Was it the connection between the shaft and the plastic blade by Amy chance?
