I love Marakesh 💛 I think the idea behind it is obviously being there in the summer time and smelling all of the rich aromatic middle eastern spices while shopping in the spice market 😍 it’s def a vibe for me. Wearing a beautiful white or richly colored flowy dress, strappy leather sandals and a straw bag ❤

I didn’t know they had a sample of this collection. I ran out to purchase it thinking it would be sold out and because it was limited edition. I didn’t buy silk Santal and regret missing out so I didn’t want to miss out on this one. I really wish they would release silk Santal since that’s what consumers are asking for

I love this set. I like that it's 4 different ideas of what vacation evokes. And they're mini?? So cute. i just have to say vacation should not automatically mean tropical. I would not have bought it if it was all coconut/tropical scents. I like coconut and tropical notes but I don't need 4 bottles in that same category in one set. There's plenty of other fragrances like that out now. Plus if you live in the southern hemisphere it is winter now. That said, I thought I was going to love Marrakesh bc I love orange blossom. But I ended up liking Maui the best. Didn't think I liked banana until recently when I started wearing Arquiste Vacation and this Maui one is so good.

It affects how I feel about a scent on a given day. What I loved last week could make me feel nauseous the following one. That's why I don't even trust myself with first impressions 😅

But on the postive I did get a travel of Utopia Vanilla Coco and am enjoying that one. 😊 I guess we all vacation at different places, I would’ve enjoyed a mango scent 🥭🤔 in the set. First impressions I agree with the Marrakesh being too potent with neroli og orange blossom, but I do think it's a good choice to include a non tropical vacy-scent in the collection. The Capri one is not tropical either, but I I really think it misses the target if it's meant to take me to Italy, because to me it is so fluffy and creamy sweet that it is more like an at-home gourmand to cozy up on the couch. I think Maldives is the most unique of them and perhaps Maui is the best tropical. But they are so dense and sweet though. Will try them again, to see if I can wear them. 🏝️
I had a similar issue with these as you and I'm thankful you were honest! These are also not what I personally had in mind for a Vacay in a Bottle fragrance launch but to each their own. I'm glad I got the sample set because I even consider that a waste. It just wasn't for me.

I'm in Australia would have purchased your Marrakech 😅 it's my fav I'm middle eastern and it smells like an Arabic dessert that's y I think mona included it. Rose petals with orange blossom is used in arabic dessert it's a good feel food good times ❤

Thank you for your honesty 😊 I have a similar issue with the formulation of Kayali fragrances. The opening of Yum Pistachio doesn’t agree with my body chemistry but it’s not until the dry down when it has that beautiful, sweet scent on my skin. Vanilla 28 kind of has that same effect but that one lasts on me until the next day. I’m really into Phlur Vanilla Skin right now so I don’t feel the need to pick up that one anytime soon. I loved the marketing campaign for this set and I was tempted to try it but it’s too high of a price point for me right now to blind buy it.

I just got my box today. So far… my favorite one is actually Marrakesh in a Bottle 😂 I really like them all, so far. The Maldives one (so far) is my least favorite. The rosemary is coming off pretty strong on me. Herbal smelling. But it’s still pretty. Maui still smells like guineo 🍌 I thought this one was gonna be my favorite, but it isn’t. I like Marrakesh and Capri the most.
I got the sample set and after spraying and going back to them I love the capri! I really get the raspberry and a milky sweet vanilla Edit: ok idk if it’s the musk but there’s definitely something smoky going on too honestly reminiscent of by the fireplace
I’m with you on this one.. I made a Short about this set and I actually did return it. But like more because it just wasn’t “me” There wasn’t one of them that I liked both the opening and drydown. The drydown of Maui was the best of any of them I guess, but hated the banana opening of it 🤷🏻♀️ Not every perfume is for everyone so it’s all good!
My favorite is most definitely Maui in a bottle, then probably the Maldives followed closely by capri then Marrakesh in a bottle❤ But I really like all 4 so it was a great purchase for me. That Maui in a bottle though I need in a 100 ml!! lol!!! Like NOW!!

Same with me, I find the banana note to disappear at dry down in Maui and then the scent changes from what it was and it becomes very green and earthy….. but I would still get the full size cuz it’s still unique ❤
This was my first time trying the Kayali house brand and I got the Vanilla Rock Candy and the Vacation set. I returned both the latest power on Kayali isn’t there. I feel like a fragrance should be able to stand alone instead of having to layer it. Kayali wasn’t for me at all
Capri is my favourite, to me it’s a dupe for Devotion which is a favourite. I like Marrakech and Maldives but I do not like Maui which I really thought I would.
I bought the set and returned it. I only really liked 2 : Capri and Maldives. Marrakesh was ok, but Maui was thecoco worst for me. The banana was a green one from start and then turned into something really funky and weird for a bit. After this, the weird sour banana smell goes away and it drys down to a basic sweet non descript musk. Capri is nice but there have been so many sweet Citruses with vanilla so it's not unique. Maldives was my favourite as the Rosemary makes it interesting and the coconut in the dry down is so sweet and it smells a bit marshmallow to me.

For me, I was surprised because, I didn’t think I would like Maldives in a bottle just based on the rosemary mint that was in it and then I smelled it and I was like this is a really fresh and refreshing coconut that I am not used to, and I loved it. I was shocked the Maui in the bottle I was not that into it. I got a little bit more sunscreen vibes and I wanted to be but I’m gonna let it sit and see how it’s gonna work out at the end of the summer when I wear more coconut sents. My favorite is the lemon sugar. If I had to rank them. Marrakesh in a bottle is my least favorite Maui in a bottle is number three for me, but that may change Maldives in a bottle is number two for me. And lemon sugar is definitely my favorite. But also to me, Maldives in a bottle, kind of smells like a coconut mojito. I really wanna try pairing it with lime scents to see how that would go together.

I’m not a fan of sets with different scents. I think the exact same as you. If I don’t love all 4 scents, it’s not a great value to me. I didn’t know there was a sample set. That’s a great option for us to decide if we want to fully invest. Scent is so personal and subjective because we all have different preferences. At least you can sell the bottles you’re not a huge fan of.

The Marrakesh one smells like a kids medicine that I use for my boys when they're ill...not a good scent association!! It's like an orange calpol smell 🤢
My favourite is Capri lemon. It’s so addictive. 🍋🧁 my second is Maui with the banana note even though it’s green banana. I don’t really care for Maldives. Marrakech is pretty although it doesn’t give me vacay vibes. I don’t like limited edition & only small bottles. Makes it difficult when u have one favourite scent. Sad there will be no big bottle in f Capri
I haven’t bought Kayali since Eden juicy Apple and burning cherry. After those two I knew Kayali wasnt a house for me. I do however have a 100ml Vanilla 28 but I wouldn’t repurchase 🫤

I thought about returning too but then I think about how they throw away those products that get returned so I’m going to sell the ones I don’t like on mercari. That way someone can enjoy it 🥰❤️
